Completed 10 scenarios.
Choose one trait.
Increases expression of emotions, facial expressions, and body language.
Increases immersion into characters.
Generates props needed for scenarios.
Gazing at the Masterpiece grade, I felt pretty satisfied since I'd recouped the two points I'd invested this time. Then, new text appeared on the next page.
"……."
When Woo Da-young had filmed five scenarios, she'd unlocked the Actor trait.
Regardless of that, completing ten scenarios brought up the Director trait this time.
"Ha…. What the hell is this power, anyway?"
I'd thought I knew almost everything about it, but there were still so many unknowns. It was ridiculous. I scratched my cheek, then smirked.
Whatever it was, adding a new ability would be a huge help for future scenarios.
"Alright, let's see……."
Three traits.
The descriptions were annoyingly vague, as always.
I crossed my arms, mulling over the short, ambiguous explanations.
Which one would be the most useful?
"Method……, Sync Rate…, Props."
The last one, Props, caught my eye first.
"Generating props would be nice……."
No need to prepare them myself—it'd be convenient for me.
But I wondered if they stuck around after the scenario ended.
"Method's good too…, and Sync Rate is tempting."
Even now, high immersion led to pretty solid acting, but this seemed different.
"Hmm…, so the next trait probably unlocks after 20, right?"
If it was in increments of ten, I'd have to wait a long time.
I could speedrun 20 treating them like disasters, but that didn't sit right with me.
"Haa~. Whatever, it'll work out."
Thud.
I closed the Scenario Book for now.
My thoughts weren't fully sorted yet.
I pushed the Scenario Book aside and pulled out my doodle-filled notepad.
Countless worldviews and scenarios scribbled down. Naturally, some were crossed out and deleted with scribbles.
"I'm not even a novelist……."
I shook my head, seeing how I'd already filled half the thick notepad with doodles.
"What's with all this effort just for sex?"
At first, it was curiosity. Then, hot scenarios. Finally, chasing grades like a game.
In just over two months, I'd burned through more than half a thick notepad. My mental state wasn't exactly normal.
November.
I finally picked up my winter clothes from the dry cleaners.
I tore off the plastic wrap and slipped on the white short padded jacket. It felt warmer already.
Jeans on, and heading to the company felt strangely nostalgic.
"Yawwwn."
Cold air rushed into my drawn-out yawn.
"Just two nights and three days, but why does it feel like forever?"
With Maeng Soyul for ten days, it hadn't felt like this.
I yawned again, lazily, and stood at the bus stop.
Early morning commuters and students bustled around.
Hiss.
The bus was packed like a can of sardines—could barely move.
Got off near the company and spotted Won Yu-chan walking ahead.
As expected, toast and Americano in one hand for breakfast.
"Oh~, Yu-chan. Got a haircut?"
"Ah, hyungnim! Good morning. Yeah, over the weekend. What'd you do?"
Weekend memories flashed: king game with the sisters. Couldn't say that truthfully, so I brushed it off.
"Just hung out at home."
"Aha~. Should've called you out for drinks. Too bad."
"Yeah, call me next time."
His easygoing personality and quick work made him reliable at the company.
Smoked one downstairs before heading up.
"Let's air it out."
Set my bag down, opened the window—cold air poured in.
Grabbed the vacuum from the corner, ran it once, and soon the others arrived.
"Morning~."
Monday morning—Woo Da-young's greeting lacked energy.
"Trip go well over the weekend?"
I brought it up to check. She locked eyes with Kim Woo-hyun, and they giggled.
"What? Why the laugh?"
"Nah~, had a blast. Yeongheung was awesome."
Even with influence near 200, she didn't register going with me.
"You gotta go sometime."
"What'd you do?"
Pushed for details since she recommended it.
"Huh? Spa, and uh, drinking games?"
Her changing expressions showed the influence affected drinking games, not memories of me.
Got what I wanted, so I waved it off.
"Sounds good. I'll go if I get a girlfriend."
"Ugh~, you don't even wanna make one."
"Not right now. Focusing on work."
Acted like I had zero interest in women.
"Want me to introduce a friend in Seoul? But no cheating."
"Never cheated."
"……They all broke up anyway."
Woo Da-young shook her head at me.
"How do you break up in under a month?"
"Just didn't click. Too clingy."
"Clingy's love~. Without it, is it even dating?"
Flicked her forehead, then glared at Kim Woo-hyun.
"Woo-hyun, rein her in. She only lectures me."
"Can't help it."
"Couples, ugh."
I waved dismissively with an annoyed look and sat down.
Now that this scenario ended, the influence probably wasn't limited to Woo Da-young.
Woo Da-hee must've been affected too, but I couldn't check—that sucked.
Woo Da-hee.
She'd gone to the gym early with her husband for weights, then showered.
Shwaaa.
Ate a salad for breakfast, saw her husband off to work.
"Drive safe~."
After he left, she did the backed-up laundry, shopped at the discount mart, made side dishes.
Salad for breakfast, but she tried for home-cooked lunch and dinner.
Finished morning chores, turned on the TV, sat on the sofa.
"Hmm~. Gotta check the trip pics."
Rare trip with her husband—she'd snapped excited photos.
"Pretty."
The sparkling sea in the photos evoked the moment even now.
Smiling happily, she flipped through them one by one.
"This one's good with a little edit before posting."
Nice shots lifted her mood. Mostly theater, minor roles in films/dramas, but fans still remembered her.
Posting photos let her connect with her last fans—more like friends now, as a married auntie.
"……?"
Flipping through with pleasant thoughts, a huge dissonance hit.
A photo of her and her husband sweetly posing at the spa.
"What……."
Nothing wrong with it.
Taken with her husband and sister's couple.
Yet, an inexplicable unease.
"Looks good, but……."
In the photo, she smiled brighter than anyone.
Her husband beaming at her—it made viewers happy.
But something unknowable nagged at her.
She couldn't pinpoint it, even staring right at it.
