Black Lotus and White Marigold -10-
Crunch!! As the skill activated, a chunk of the gluttonous demon's body tore free and began absorbing into mine. Specifically, the massive maw in its core belly—the stomach inside it, plus a bit of its skin—merged into me.
Crunch. A huge mouth lined with fangs just like the demon's burst open on my own belly, and a strange, invisible energy pulsed through my skin.
'So this is Mid-tier Magic Resistance Skin.'
Riiip! That belly mouth was perfectly shaped for efficient devouring, just like the demon's.
"Lerolerolero."
Surprisingly, it even had a tongue. It flexed smoothly when I tested it.
Slurp. Still, leaving it open all the time felt weird and made moving awkward, so I sealed it shut.
From assimilating the gluttonous demon, I'd gained four things: [Fiend's Frenzy], [Fiend's Devour], [Kin Devour], and [Mid-tier Magic Resistance Skin]. My skin was already tougher than the demon's anyway, and my raw strength outclassed its brute force now too.
'Even if I level up this Mid-tier Magic Resistance Skin for better resistance, and pull out my real gear from inventory... honestly, I might not need it.' I could already mimic it with buff spells that boosted magic resistance, but as a passive, it had the perk of not costing mana. Useful enough.
'Unexpectedly, corpses I assimilate stay intact enough to reuse.' In games, assimilation destroyed the body outright, but here only the fused parts vanished—the rest stayed viable. Perfect undead fodder.
'First, stash these two gluttonous demon corpses.'
Vrrrrm!!
I stored the gluttonous demon corpses in my corpse vault. Pull 'em out later for elite undead when I level up more.
The ogre corpses? 'Told Kangjang she'd get half, so 17 left. I'll eat seven, turn the rest into undead.'
Decision made, I moved.
Riiip! The new mouth—taking up half my abdomen—gaped wide.
"Dig in."
Crunch crunch. Seven ogres vanished down my gullet in seconds.
'Tasteless as hell.' For real. Undead taste buds? But I'd definitely tasted Kangjang's "side dish" before. Anyway, results from chowing seven ogres:
'The odds suck.'[Kin Devour] boosted absorption rates for ogre meat over other stuff, but seven ogres netted me just +1 Strength.
'Non-ogre kills basically do nothing. Gotta assume that.' One point from seven might sound like a steal, but—
"Au~!!"
Pat pat. Kangjang—one gluttonous demon and seventeen ogres later—had slimmed back to her sleek form, patting her flat belly like she'd binged after ages. Her stamina went up by 1 too.
Plain bad luck.
'No battlefield swarm to gorge on quick? No fast gains here.' Plus, our smaller size—versus the original demon—meant tinier mouths. Swallowing whole took time, killing efficiency.
'Still beats nothing. Boosts stats, recovers HP and MP too.'
I glanced aside.
Clank.Clack.
"Heeheehee."
Vrrrrm...
There stood my ten fresh undead from the corpses. Same lineup: three Death Knights, one Lich, two Dullahan, one Shadow Walker, one Necro Guard, two Geists.
"Uuuu..."
"Ah... aaaah..."
Geists were mid-tier spectral undead—upper ghosts, basically. Unlike human-sized Wraiths, these were ogre-sized clumps of three-plus vengeful spirits. I made two because their life-detection made them killer scouts. Phasing through walls, flight, invisibility? Scout perfection. And as spirits, physical attacks? Useless.
"Go. Map the terrain, hunt prey."
Simple orders: Find EXP fodder, scout this witch-tomb underground forest I couldn't fully grasp yet.
"Waaaah!!"
"Euuuaaaah!!"
Semi-transparent faces twisted in agony screamed curses of resentment—but obeyed.
Tsssh.Kiiing!!
They flew off, trailing frost, withering grass to brown in seconds, scattering eerie chill.
Remaining level-up points distributed.
Crunch. Boosting my racial value changed my look a bit. All prepped, Geists midway through recon—
"Alright. Scouts out—time we move too?"
Hunt time.
Our hunt and scout went smooth. This massive forest teemed with varied monsters. Nothing glutton-demon tier—mostly ogre-level or a notch up. A few extra ogres popped.
"Au!! Aau!!"
Boom!!
"Kegeng!?"
Kangjang zipped in, smashing a three-headed wolf-thing's skull with three punches. Stronger than ogres, triple breath attacks from each mouth—but trash next to the demon. Low EXP too.
We slaughtered everything in sight. Level up? Just 1 so far.
'But something bigger matters.'
Like that scene: 'Kangjang's flying!!'
Yep.
"Auu~"
Whoosh!!Swoosh!!
Flying Jiangshi. Gliding the skies like a wuxia master's lingkong xudu lightness skill—effortless.
"Aau~"
Swoooosh!!
She floated like a leaf on the wind, innocent grin saying she loved it.
Watching pure joy on her face? Heartwarming.
Flutter flutter. Her crotch talisman flapping in the breeze, barely-there panties flashing killer pussy views from below. Absolute scenery.
Neither her jiangshi base nor added demon had flight. How?
Simple: As I leveled and evolved, so did she—tied to my levels. Into supreme undead [Flying Jiangshi].
Flying Jiangshi: ancient evolved form, sky-roaming. Plus [Hanba] skill—energy drain sucking foe qi on contact.
Stats up, her [Jiangshi Gong] evolved to [Nine Heavens Death Command Gong]. Way stronger.
'Can't make supreme undead yet—but Living Death is exempt.'
Strongest in party besides me.
'Evolved myself too—big changes.'
Post-leveling: Bigger than before, near-ogre size, crown-like horns sprouting. Face? Russian spec-ops from my past life would shit pants at night. Passive even inflicted Fear on non-resistant foes.
One of ghoul's apex evos: Grave Being, lord of tombs.

'Almost there.'
Four to 60. Five counting Silverambi's +1.
'Ramp up the hunt!!'
Slaying and undead-ifying every monster in sight—my undead count swelled. But active followers? Same number. Most corpses went to Geist scouts for hunting recon.
No elite beasts, so every corpse = undead.
Conquering this vast underground forest like the surface Forest of Beginnings—when
"Ah... euuuuaaa..."
"Hoo..."
Geist #12—from deep recon—linked intel. Forest center: something.
Undying Servant - Sense Sharing
Smirk. The shared sight brought a grin.
"Kangjang~"
"Au?"
Called to the sky-soaring scout—innocent joy masking vigilant recon. Crucial duty.
"Quit flying, come here. Got a spot to hit—now. No time to waste!!"
