Even This Doesn’t Count as Dating?
I’d sent over a few questions I wanted answered with tarot, then wrapped up yesterday’s work just like that.
Today’s stream title was “Want to Go Read Tarot With Me?” It was the kind of bait-y title that practically begged people to imagine me reading tarot together with Si-a. Of course, I wasn’t actually planning to do it with her. I was going to read it alone.
Still, if the results looked good today, I started thinking maybe it wouldn’t be a bad idea to do a tarot content stream together right before we ended the WGM Content.
As expected, everyone assumed I was reading tarot together with Si-a.
"Ah. Hello."
"No? I’m reading it alone today. I don’t even know what Si-a’s doing today."
The viewers made it very clear they were disappointed. But what was I supposed to do? It wasn’t as if the tarot had nothing to do with Si-a.
"Though maybe I should call it a relationship tarot? It would still be about the WGM Content."
"WGM tarot is basically relationship tarot anyway...."
"You’re not actually several people, are you? It’s just one person using multiple computers, right?"
I grumbled at the viewers, who somehow only ever managed to be in perfect sync at times like this, and kept the conversation going. Of course, there were still people sending clips from yesterday’s interview where I’d said I loved her, but I previewed them and skipped them quickly.
"Nope. Can’t watch it."
"We’re starting tarot soon. Everyone quiet down and take your seats."
"Who’s reading it? You all know very well who."
Saying that, I joined the voice chat room I’d already peeked into yesterday. The person who was already in there would be the one reading our tarot today.
"Hello!"
"Hello. Nice to meet you."
"Today’s tarot reader is Chur. Could you introduce yourself briefly?"
"Yes, hello. I’m Chur, and I do tarot content on Watch."
Chur was famous on Watch for tarot, especially relationship readings. She wasn’t exclusively skilled at love fortune, but her accuracy in that area was so absurdly good that it had made her even more famous.
"Nice to meet you. Just so you know in advance, Red asked me, ‘Could you read tarot for a younger streamer friend of mine?’ and Haeji agreed."
"Huh? I was told that an acquaintance streamer wanted to read tarot for me."
"...?"
"...?"
Seeing Chur tilt her head through the screen share, the viewers started praising Red hyung. Chur and I both felt like we were looking at a bizarre situation, but we decided to keep going for now.
"Oh, then you didn’t hear that part either?"
"What part?"
"A third person is coming today."
"What? Who is c..."
Before Chur could even finish, just as she mentioned a surprise guest, someone suddenly joined the voice chat room.
"...?"
"What? Why are you here?"
"You ask that, Si-a?"
"Wow, Red really is a menace. He set this whole angle up by himself."
The uninvited guest who had burst into the voice chat room was Si-a. We were both so shocked that the first thing out of our mouths was, basically, what on earth are you doing here?
Meanwhile, Chur and the viewers were busy praising the mastermind who had made this whole thing happen. Judging by her reaction, Chur seemed like a bit of an aggressive WGM Content fan too, so maybe I’d have to keep that in mind while reading tarot... no, that wasn’t the point.
"Didn’t you say you had content today?"
"This was it. Then you..."
"Yeobo."
"...You too, Yeobo?"
"Yep!"
So Red hyung really was the one who’d built this whole grand setup by himself? I was honestly impressed. I couldn’t even imagine how much he’d had to pour into the WGM Content to plan out a scene like this on his own.
"All right, all right. Let’s calm down first. In any case, you came here to read tarot, right?"
"Yes."
"Right."
"By coincidence, I received five questions from each of you, and three of them overlap."
1. Is the WGM Content going well?
2. What kind of WGM Content works best?
"And lastly, how should the WGM Content end? Those are the three overlapping questions."
As if people really did all think alike, Si-a and I had ended up with three overlapping questions. If that happened, wouldn’t it make things a little awkward to read...?
Just as I was worrying about that, Chur gave me the answer to my concern.
"There isn’t really a problem with the content itself. Since it’s come to this, I’m just going to give you a little service."
"Service?"
"Yes. I’m going to use the same cards and read both spreads together. Yours on the right, Haeji, and Luccia’s on the left."
"Then is there something special about that?"
"I can interpret them side by side, can’t I? For example: Haeji is missing this, but Luccia can fill that part in. Something like that."
Glancing at chat, I could see that Chur really was a WGM freak. If she was this well-known for it, maybe Red hyung had had some help from her when putting the whole plan together.
Anyway, that wasn’t the important part. Chur shuffled the cards, then laid them neatly on the right side. Ten cards? That was more than usual.
"That’s a lot."
"The ones I’ve seen usually use, what, five? Six?"
"Oh, that’s just ordinary streamers."
"And us?"
"You two are the stars of the WGM Content I actually watch."
As she said, since it was my stream, it was her choice. Then Chur laid cards down on the left as well. Strangely enough, Si-a’s spread was arranged in the same pattern as mine.
"That arrangement looks a little unusual."
"Oh, this is called the Celtic Cross spread. For nine to ten cards, it’s the classic layout."
After drawing every card, Chur clapped sharply and rubbed her hands together a few times, like a cat thrilled to have found a toy.
"First! This turned out well."
In short, there wouldn’t be any major obstacles to me and Si-a doing the WGM Content.
Fortunately, our streaming hours were similar, and since the WGM Content had already helped both of our channels grow, the reading suggested things would keep sailing smoothly unless some unusual incident came up.
"But Haeji, you do need to worry a little."
"About what?"
"Hmm... times when you’re not doing joint streams? You’ve been running so hard lately."
"Yeah. WGM, then the clarification stream, then the tournament. It’s been a lot."
"Because of that, when you go live alone and try to do something without a joint stream or anything else, your content weakens."
In other words, I couldn’t stretch a single game very far by itself. Especially since, up until now, I’d only played two games. Leaving the WGM Content aside, I didn’t really have anything else to hang my hat on.
"So, looking at this card together with the others, it means that if you don’t find a breakthrough in advance for times when there’s no joint stream, your broadcasts could stagnate a bit."
"That affects the WGM Content too?"
"Yes."
Then! Chur suddenly moved to the opposite pile of cards. Si-a’s tarot spread.
"The cards placed over here show what kind of concern the person is carrying."
"Yes."
"But this card usually represents a spouse? A partner?"
"Here, let me give you two options."
"Would you like me to speak as if I’m fully immersed in the ship, or would you prefer a slightly more restrained interpretation?"
Suddenly being handed a choice in the middle of the reading caught both Si-a and me off guard. No matter how I looked at it, if we chose full immersion here, chat would obviously catch fire; if we went restrained, the viewers would definitely call us boring and out of touch.
After a moment’s thought, I figured the card’s owner should make the call.
"Yeobo, you pick. It’s your card."
"Hmm...."
At my words, Si-a thought for a moment, then finally spoke.
"Just keep it restrained."
"Aw, that’s no fun."
"If you start with something too spicy, you can’t taste the next flavor."
The viewers had definitely been planning to flood chat with out-of-touch jokes if I’d been the one to say that. Watching those messages, I felt relieved and refocused on the screen.
"To put it as plainly as possible, hmm...."
"Nothing weird, right?"
"No. It’s just that, beyond content you do with your partner, she seems to be worrying about what you should be doing normally, too."
...What?
"In simple terms, she’s worrying about her husband."
Hey?
Didn’t you say you were going to keep it restrained?
...This?
