Chapter 1
The moment I awakened as a Hunter who writes hunter stories—something I hadn't even hoped for—my very first thought was this.
"Do I really have to go be a hunter just because I awakened?"
I mean, come on?
The reality of being a hunter is that you could die or end up maimed at the drop of a hat. Just because I've awakened, am I supposed to risk my neck fighting monsters? Eh... not really.
This isn't like the chaotic early days when gates first started popping up. There are tons of people lining up to be hunters even without me. One more like me won't change a damn thing, and skipping out on it won't either.
When you think about how all that wealth and fame hunters enjoy is basically just hazard pay for their lives... it doesn't exactly pull me in.
And it's not like every hunter who dives into gates risking their skin comes out swimming in riches and glory.
I'm perfectly content with how things are right now. So why the hell should I be the one throwing my life away hunting in gates?
Maybe it's because my 'memories of my past life' came flooding back with the awakening, but those thoughts hit even harder.
In my previous life, I lived peacefully in a world where hunters only existed in stories, until I died in some freak accident. Better to chase those unfulfilled dreams now than play hero and get wrecked in a gate.
Not like I lived to a ripe old age back then or anything. I just don't want to get anywhere near risks like gates.
Truth be told, I'm scared shitless. And I like being alive, thanks.
I'll just do what I always wanted in my past life: become a webnovel author. Yeah, that's the way to go.
Plus, I'm dying to know one thing.
"What happens if you drop a hunter story into a world where hunters are real?"
I can't stand not knowing. Screw it—I'll just dive in and see.
What's the big deal, anyway?
Haha!
