Trial Entry to the Literature Club
"I'll apply to join the Literature Club."
"Thinking it's about time to try some club activities."
"Really? That's a great idea! Pretty much every student at our academy joins at least one club. I've been thinking you should jump on that bandwagon too, Lazar!"
Just as Rine said, almost every girl at the academy was in at least one club. Plenty were juggling multiple clubs at once. The academy threw so much support their way that some clubs felt more like massive school-wide operations. The only character from the original story who skipped club activities was probably just Sowonyu.
The original protagonist was, of course, set up to join at least one club as a given. The game revolved around sweet harem rom-com antics with the girls you'd meet through club life.
Of course, I had zero intention of getting seriously involved in club activities. Sure, I might kill some time or enjoy a hobby now and then, but that was secondary at best. All I really wanted was to use club activities as an excuse to fuck all the pussy bitches I could get my hands on.
"You're in the Literature Club, right, Rine?"
"Huh?! H-how did you know? I never told you..."
Any outsider knowing personal info she hadn't shared would normally creep someone out. But Rine just blushed, clasped her hands behind her back, and rubbed her thighs together. Was there any creature alive that showed her embarrassment this blatantly with her body?
Oh my god. Lazar's interested in me. He went out of his way to look up stuff like my club, even though it has zero use for pussy play. Eek, what do I do? My heart's pounding so hard I can't even look at him properly.
She was clearly jumping to conclusions. I only knew about her Literature Club membership because that's where she was in the original story. Whatever misunderstandings Rine cooked up didn't matter to me, though.
"So, how about I swing by your Literature Club once? Not officially—just like a trial membership or something."
"For real!?"
Rine grabbed my hand, her eyes sparkling like crazy. Was this really something to get this excited over?
"For real? You're really gonna join our club? In that case, you're super welcome! Getting to do club activities with you, Lazar... Is there anything cooler in the world?"
Damn, she was making a huge fuss. It was 100% genuine enthusiasm, which was almost scary. Whether it was subconscious or not, she was even wagging her ass like a puppy greeting its owner home. I patted my cute pet dog's head.
"Well, I'm not planning to root myself there permanently. Just poking my head into a few places. But is that okay? Even if I say 'I wanna join~,' there's no guarantee it'll fly."
"No worries there! I'll put in a good word for you. Everyone's super nice—they'll definitely treat you fair, without any bias!"
You could tell just from how she'd accepted me as her roommate without a second thought, but Rine was clueless about the real world. More precisely, she was oblivious to people's malice or the deep-seated negativity lurking inside them. And the reason she could afford that obliviousness? Her position in life let her get away with it.
Her family might fall a notch short of Erika's level, but Rine was still the precious daughter of the Sharshara family—a name anyone in the kingdom would recognize. Naturally, in a small club like Literature, her voice carried massive weight.
Nominally, Rine wasn't the club president. She didn't see herself as the type to lead any group. But not being president didn't erase her influence. Everyone treated her extra nice anyway, so she never had to sweat the small stuff like malice from others. She wasn't inheriting the family business or anything high-stakes like that.
Whatever Rine's deal was, it worked out great for me.
"In that case, mind doing me a little favor, Rine? I mean, I'm not gonna be super diligent about club stuff or anything."
"Sure thing! Ehehehe, I can't wait. Not just dorm life, but club activities with you too... Oh, hey, Lazar—got any favorite books?"
The Literature Club was obviously for book lovers. I dabbled in light novels and web novels, but the academy's club wouldn't touch that "lowbrow" crap. No doubt they'd be deep into pretentious, convoluted "literature," giggling and discussing it like whoa.
Maybe a prejudice, but that's the vibe in my head. Still, this world had its pervy common sense seeping into unrelated corners. Might not be so bad after all.

"So, I'm thinking fake-join the Literature Club. Mind putting in a good word?"
"H-haaah... I see."
To join a club, you just needed the president's approval. So we went straight to the Literature Club president, Humina, to hash it out.
Humina was a demure-looking girl with sky-blue hair in twin braids. She had that super timid vibe—total literary girl archetype. Staring into her deep blue eyes felt like gazing at a lake rippling under sunlight, all serene and poetic. Shame about the tiny tits, but variety was the spice of life here. Kneading big udders all day got old; a petite one like this was a nice change.

She bore the title of Literature Club president, but her family was dirt poor. The only reason she made it into this academy? She'd debuted as a high schooler and was already a rising star in the literary world. The academy let in anyone with real talent. Hell, look at me—no family pedigree whatsoever, and here I was, strolling the halls.
"Um... Lazar, was it? Mind if I ask one question first? ...Why our Literature Club?"
"I like books."
It was a half-assed answer. I didn't hate books, so it wasn't even a lie.
Humina clearly didn't want me in. My lazy response played into it, plus the unease of a guy invading her club. As president, approving me could spark backlash from members—and with her poor background, she'd take the heat alone.
But even so, she couldn't flat-out say no.
"W-well then... one more thing... What's your relationship with Rine... exactly?"
She'd been fidgeting and blurting it out like she couldn't hold it in anymore.
Relationship with Rine? Nothing special.
"Just roommates. She's my first friend here at the academy. Right?"
"Ha♥ Ha♥ Haa♥ Y-yeah, of course♥ We're, friends♥ Total friends♥♥♥"
Friends could grope each other's tits while chatting, no biggie. Rine was dripping pussy juice all sloppy-like, staining the sofa, but a big-hearted guy like me could overlook that.

"Something wrong?"
"N-no, nothing at all..."
A nobody commoner like her couldn't meddle in a noble lady's friendships. The kingdom's laws supposedly didn't recognize special classes outside royalty... or so the statutes claimed. But old noble families still wielded real power, laws be damned.
Damned if she did, damned if she didn't. Stuck with the president gig, Humina furrowed her brow like it was all a huge hassle.
In the original story, Humina sucked at these decisions. She loved reading and writing—didn't care for anything else. Forced into leadership because of her talent.
For her sake, I tossed her a lifeline.
"Looks like you're hesitant to decide, huh? How about this: I'll prove I'm useful to the club. If I do, let me join. If not, reject me—no hard feelings."
"Prove... it?"
To Humina, it'd sound like nonsense. Club activities weren't pro-level work or team sports. What "help" could I possibly offer?
She'd figure it gave her an out: since I proposed it, she could just say whatever I did wasn't enough and boot me.
But it wouldn't play out that way.
"Anyway, let's move somewhere else? Somewhere we can talk alone would be great."
