Phase 1: That Hui-gyeong Girl (8)
“Aigoo~. You got hit with an elbow, you say?”
“Yes.”
“Still, though. This is a bit much, isn’t it?”
He wasn’t talking to me.
It was the doctor’s muttering to himself.
For a monologue, the tone was serious enough that I shot a glare at that Hui-gyeong girl.
Of course, she couldn’t even meet my eyes properly and was busy looking anywhere else.
“Bruises usually heal on their own in about one to two weeks, a month at most. But in your case, the area is large and the discoloration is quite severe, so… is your MBTI by any chance an E? I’m just asking if you’re the type who goes out a lot.”
“Ah, no? I’m an I.”
Suddenly talking MBTI at the hospital, and to a male doctor no less.
The fact that the first being to ever ask for my MBTI was a male doctor left me feeling strangely melancholy.
“Then do you have any presentations or anything coming up soon?”
“That, I’m not really sure either…”
“Hmm…. Well, that’s a relief then. If you want the bruise gone faster, there is a procedure.”
“A procedure?”
“It’s done with a laser, and the results are quite good.”
He was a genuinely kind man.
Usually when I think of doctors I picture arrogant bastards who don’t even listen properly and talk down to people, but this guy’s recommendation for the procedure felt like it came from real concern for the patient.
“Though it is a bit pricey, so if you’d rather not, that’s perfectly fine.”
“Yeah, I don’t think we need to spend more money.”
“Then I’ll prescribe a bruise cream at least. Do some warm compresses too. It’s better than nothing, so make sure you do it.”
He tapped a few keys on the keyboard, said we were done, and gave a smooth little wave that meant we could go.
Impressive. Even as a guy, I had to admit he was a nice, cool person.
The kind of person I wanted to become—my wannabe.
“Oppa, wasn’t the doctor earlier so cool?”
That was true right up until Hui-gyeong opened her mouth.
“What’s so cool about him. His voice was slimy and he seemed gay.”
Thinking back, whether you called it elegant or flexible, that hand gesture of his had a certain limp-wristed quality that made the suspicion feel rational.
“Whyyy? His face was handsome too. Like a gentle little rabbit.”
I should’ve just come alone.
Where the hell was this girl’s true nature going to go.
Look at her, zeroing in the second she sees another man.
My mood plummeted in an instant. I left the hospital and stayed completely silent the whole time we picked up the bruise cream from the pharmacy next door.
“Oppa, why aren’t you saying anything?”
“What’s the point of talking. You’ll just start going on about guys.”
At that her eyes turned sly, and it pissed me off so much my temper flared.
As I roughly snorted through my nose, Hui-gyeong shoved her head toward me and grinned.
“Are you jealous?”
“Jealous of what.”
“You are jealous!”
“Stop being so goddamn annoying.”
“Don’t be jealous~. Oppa’s cool too.”
“What’s cool about me?”
“Your dick’s big.”
This absolute fucking brat.
My brow furrowed on its own, and Hui-gyeong must not have liked that either because her expression turned cold.
“Fuck off. You crazy bastard.”
“What?”
“Why?”
“Hey. Say that again.”
“Say what again, you crazy bastard.”
“Why the hell am I the crazy one? You’re the crazy bitch who nearly took my eye out. Why am I the crazy bastard?”
On top of everything, she was broke, so I’d paid the hospital bill and the medicine costs out of my own pocket.
She hadn’t contributed a single thing, just scraped at my nerves the whole time, and now she was cussing me out. The sheer fucking nerve of it.
“You’re the one who locked me in the room and shoved your big dick at me. So I said your big dick was cool. That piss you off?”
“Shut up, you crazy bitch. There are people around—what the hell are you saying.”
“So if there weren’t people it’d be fine? If nobody’s watching it’s okay to feel up your little sister’s tits and play around?”
This girl for real. My head went cold; for the first time in a long while I wanted to kick this little sister of mine as her older brother.
“We’ll talk about this at home.”
“I’m not going, you fucker.”
Did she have a goddamn rag stuffed in her mouth? Every sentence ended with “fuck.”
I stopped right there and glared at Hui-gyeong as she dug her heels in.
Hui-gyeong glared right back at me.
Then something strange happened.
Even with her face scrunched up into the nastiest expression she could manage, I still found her pretty.
Thinking I must be losing it, I dropped my gaze—and there was her slender frame with those nicely shaped breasts pushing out.
Just a white tee and jeans, and it still got me hard.
She stood with her knees together, but thanks to those wide hips the gap between her thighs wouldn’t fully close.
The round curve of her ass, supported by those firm thighs, was more than enough to melt the anger I’d been seething with.
“Why do you keep staring.”
And without meaning to, this answer slipped out.
“Because you’re pretty.”
Hui-gyeong, who had been lining up her next insult, clearly hadn’t expected that. She looked floored.
With my anger more or less defused, I decided to just keep talking.
“Your face is pretty and your body’s pretty, so I kept looking. Is looking at something pretty a crime?”
“Ha…!”
She let out a hollow laugh and turned her head, but the way the tension left her eyes told me she didn’t mind the compliment.
Sensing an opening, I stepped closer and held out my hand without warning.
“What.”
“Hold my hand.”
“What are you, a kid?”
“Just hold it. I want to hold hands.”
I kept it out there, not giving a damn about the people watching, until Hui-gyeong sighed and took it.
I gripped her hand tight and started walking; she followed.
We walked in silence for a bit before I casually asked,
“So is that doctor your type?”
“No.”
“Then what’s your ideal type.”
“I told you before. I like strong guys.”
What the hell did “strong” even mean? I wanted to ask.
But pressing further felt somehow lame, so I let it go.
I went with a different question instead.
“What’s your MBTI?”
“ENTJ.”
…I heard it and still had no idea.
I only knew how to tell E from I, so there was nothing more to say.
Silence again. This time Hui-gyeong spoke first.
“Do you like me?”
“Dunno. But holding your hand made me feel a little good, so maybe.”
“I see.”
It was a terrible answer, but it was the truth.
Our joined hands had my chest fluttering pretty hard.
The reason I still couldn’t give a clear answer was because a shred of embarrassment remained.
“This is a first.”
“What is?”
“A guy saying he likes me. Oppa’s the first.”
“What are you talking about, you were popular.”
“I was always the one who confessed first. Maybe that’s why they all dumped me so easily.”
I stopped walking.
I turned and looked back at Hui-gyeong.
She looked straight at me too.
Today we kept locking eyes a lot.
Before I knew it, her fingers were stroking the back of my hand.
My little sister quickened her pace, came up beside me, and walked level with me.
“I like walking side by side like this.”
“…?”
“So Oppa, this is a deduction. Work on it. It’s a tip straight from the girl you like, so take it seriously.”
“What score am I at out of a hundred?”
Hui-gyeong grinned.
“That’s a secret.”
I hadn’t expected an answer anyway.
Still, I matched my walking speed to her steps, just like she’d said.
She must have liked that, because she tugged me a little closer until our shoulders brushed.
I was enjoying that warmth for a moment when I felt my phone vibrate in my pants pocket.
I pulled it out and checked—KakaoTalk from Gyeong-jun.
Wait, this bastard?
I fired back right away and Gyeong-jun replied just as fast.
Unbelievable facts were stacking up one after another.
The most unbelievable of all was that the lifelong virgin duo had, in a single night, and at the exact same time, made some serious progress.
I’d felt Hui-gyeong’s chest and kissed her.
So what about Gyeong-jun?
My soulmate, like left ball and right ball—our Gyeong-jun? Did he kiss? Feel her up and suck on them? Or since he said it stopped at a really dicey point, maybe he conquered a blowjob?
I was dying of curiosity. I wanted to know. And I wanted to confirm it.
Which of us—me or Gyeong-jun—had gotten further.
After sending that, it felt a little gross—like a conversation between lovers—but Gyeong-jun got it perfectly and answered right away.
Now that sounded like a conversation between men.
As proper dick-havers, you had to know how to ask and answer with nothing but consonants.
“Hey. Jo Gyeong-hun.”
The frosty voice made me snap my head up from the phone, and there was Hui-gyeong’s sharp expression waiting for me.
“If you’re just gonna stare at your phone, why’d you ask to hold hands?”
“No, Gyeong-jun sent a KakaoTalk and…”
I was allowed to check my phone once in a while, but I shrank back for no good reason and let the sentence trail off.
“Gyeong-jun oppa?”
“Yeah, I told you before. The smart one. Super sharp with stock info, predicted the coin boom months ahead and told me about it.”
“Hmm~. And?”
“I’m seeing him today.”
“When?”
“Huh?”
“When today?”
After I piled on the praise for Gyeong-jun she must have decided he was a decent guy, because her face softened a little.
Even so, she kept digging, determined to find something to pick at.
“R-right now…”
“What are you gonna do when you meet?”
“Play games at a PC bang then drink in the evening.”
“Ha. So I’m stuck at home while you go out and have fun?”
I flinched. Even I had to admit it looked like classic double standards.
But talking about women only tasted right when you were face to face, tilting back a drink.
Not that I was going to tell him the “woman” was Hui-gyeong; I just wanted to lay out the situation and get some advice from Gyeong-jun on what to do.
A monk might not be able to shave his own head, but he can still preach, right?
“He said he’s got some good stock tips, so I figured I’d hear him out.”
“Stocks? Do you even have money to invest?”
“I’m just listening for long-term holdings to keep in mind. Even if I can’t do it right now, it’s for the future.”
For some reason, talking about money and investing made me feel like a solid, reliable person—even though there wasn’t much substance to it.
Hui-gyeong seemed to feel the same; she looked displeased but ended up giving permission anyway.
Wait. Why the hell was I getting her permission to go out?
“You’ve got that bruise, so don’t drink too much. And come home early.”
“Got it.”
Depends on how things go.
“You going right away?”
“No, I’m walking you home first.”
At that, Hui-gyeong’s gaze turned strange.
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
“I seriously can’t figure out what you’re thinking, Oppa.”
I’d said I didn’t know either, earlier.
A few more minutes of walking and we reached the front of the house.
I didn’t want to let go of her hand, so I just kept stroking it, and Hui-gyeong got all smug.
“Come home early. If you do, I’ll do something nice for you.”
“Something nice? Like what?”
Holy shit. Hui-gyeong was volunteering to do something nice with her own mouth?
Just those words and my cock was already excited.
Hui-gyeong saw one side of my crotch swelling up and let out a little snicker.
“You really like that, huh. Have fun~.”
“Okay~.”
“…”
“…”
“Why aren’t you leaving?”
So I pointed at the bulging crotch of my pants.
“Gotta calm this down first.”
“…I seriously don’t understand you.”
Hui-gyeong shuddered and disappeared into the house.
