I Can't Resist Item Duplication
No matter how much it crumbled, the path ahead was always visible.
No matter how many times I fell, I could always stand back up.
Every time.
Looking ahead.
And standing up again.
Before I knew it, the light would appear.
Yeah, the light.
The light was starting to shine.
In my endless, vast ocean of a life, 2EE had bestowed a brilliant light upon me.
The ring in the palm of my hand.
The ring my NPC had received.
“NPC item… mine……”
Heh.
I couldn’t help the grin creeping up my lips.
If you could understand this and not smile, you’d have to be a total psycho who’d lost all humanity.
1. 2EE gave an item to my NPC.
2. That item got stored in my Inventory.
In other words, NPC items become my items.
This was a revolution.
The dawn of my life.
A light so bright it chased away the shadows.
If my NPC rips items from hunters in the Tower, that means I get free items!
This was totally legal money duplication.
And an exclusive privilege for me alone.
Of course, whether the NPC moves as I want is another story, but my dopamine levels were already maxed out.
Time to dig into this properly.
First off.
I poked at 2EE.
I knew she’d given the ring to my NPC, but I had no idea what kind of item it was.
Truly perfect.
This girl. Way better than I thought. Exactly what I needed.
Scribble scribble.
I pulled out my notebook and jotted it down.
This ring would be a game-changer for me, who could never escape before.
Previously, I had to block approaches at all costs, but with this, even if grabbed, I’d get one chance. And for me, one chance was enough firepower to snap the neck of whoever caught me.
I’m a glass cannon.
Evasion items are a perfect match for me.
Who knew she’d gift me exactly what I needed. I felt like bowing to 2EE right then and there.
…Wait a sec.
I was so thrilled I missed something.
How the hell did she give an item to the NPC?
Did she攻略 me?
What the hell.
What kind of攻略 is that?
Usually you clear goblins first then save, but she reversed it?
And fought while carrying me on her back?
Solo??
What the hell is this girl??
Ugh, scary.
Who攻略s like that.
But... holding tight under the pretext of saving would fool the NPC well.
It’d be way harder and require immense strength, but she’s probably S-rank. Gut feeling says she’s a big shot like the broker. Broker soloed too, so she must have comparable power.
Twisting it that much wouldn’t be hard for her.
Then what happened after?
As expected, no ordinary person.
I know the situation so it’s fine, but the NPC might’ve actually been攻略ed a bit.
The worry was ‘what if she screws me over?’, but grabbing, gifting, then releasing builds some trust.
A little affinity gained, probably.
Wrapped up with 2EE and pocketed my phone.
Now to test the item’s performance.
Slipped the ring onto my index finger.
Click!
A bit loose at first, but once fully on, it resized to fit perfectly.
A strange sensation hit at the same time.
Similar to the feeling when storing or ejecting from my Inventory.
Somehow, focusing made it feel like I could move anywhere in my line of sight.
If I entrusted my body to that sensation.
Flash!!
Suddenly, my body was there.
Pure thought, and I’d moved dozens of meters.
“Whoa……”
So effortless.
But checking the ring, the lustrous red gem had dulled a bit.
Recharge was 30 minutes, so it’d probably regain its color with time.
Basically figured it out.
Verdict: Extremely satisfied.
Grrreat~
I pumped a fist.
Couldn’t help the victory pose.
And the dopamine rush wasn’t over yet.
My Inventory had other junk too. Affinity route pioneers must’ve gifted them unknowingly.
Heh heh, good kids.
Let’s check them all.
Whoosh!!
Pulled out the other items instantly.
Over ten pieces.
But something felt off.
“Ugh……”
Tiny bear doll.
Portrait of me.
Shiny magic wand.
Letter saying “I’m a good person.”
……
Damn it!!
All useless.
What do they think I am?
Compared to 2EE’s gift, total trash. Utterly disappointing.
Well, who’d recklessly give expensive gear.
But… what’s this stick?
The one semi-notable item.
Looked like a lightsaber hilt, with a mysterious button on the side.
Magic item maybe?
Click.
Pressed the button right away.
Maybe a sharp hunter gifted a decent weapon.
Let’s see what it is.
Pop!
From the hilt’s end rose a 20cm-long, rounded, flesh-colored object. The bulbous tip was unmistakably mushroom-shaped.
Uh oh….
No matter how you look, that’s that.
Crack!
Makes me mad.
Built up expectations for this?
Bury this deep in the mountains. Whoever gave this isn’t right in the head.
If I meet them, they’re dead.
So in the end, only 2EE gave me something useful.
If I could meet normally, I’d go thank her with a deep bow. With my affinity, NPC’s would’ve risen decently too.
Oh well.
Super satisfied anyway.
A little攻略 is fine, right?
Spatial teleport ring. Opens up tons of possibilities alone.
Heh heh.
Anyway, this made me stronger.
And the bigger gain: NPC items can become mine.
Sparking fun ideas.
Time to head back and verify.
*
Hunter gifts to NPC.
NPC gifts to hunter.
What’s the difference?
Luckily, I have info on both.
Back home, logged into the gallery.
The post up was about receiving a hoodie from my NPC earlier.
And the photo of my hoodie attached.
That was definitely the one I wore.
Here’s the question.
Whoosh!
I summoned the hoodie from my Inventory.
My NPC gave an item to a hunter, but the original with me didn’t vanish.
Item duplicated.
But 2EE’s item came to me, the original.
Summary:
Hunter → NPC gift: Shared with original O
NPC → Hunter gift: Not shared with original X
A one-way phenomenon.
So I can fill my Inventory receiving items from hunters, then have my NPC distribute them back for duplication.
“Heh heh. Administrator, you idiot.”
Heh.
Totally legal bug.
System. Full of loopholes. Inefficient and childish antics.
Turns out you’re useful sometimes.
But you never know.
Let’s investigate more.
Tap tap tap.
Searched related papers.
On Tower NPC drops.
[Same NPCs appear per party. So some hunters reliably get same items from NPCs limited cases.]
[But rewards vary by affinity/situation in quality/type.]
[Often marked (Degraded)—estimated as duplicates.]
[Not always duplicates though.]
[Example: One gets A-rank first, later gets B-rank.]
[Hard to tell genuine vs fake pre-appraisal.]
[NPC replica likely from unmet conditions—]
Skipping irrelevant back half.
Key: Duplicate items.
“Mostly replicas……”
Tower NPCs mostly give degraded versions to hunters.
If my NPC gives a spatial ring, probably a degraded copy.
Some penalty.
Doesn’t matter. Items NPC receives and sends to me seem genuine. What matters is what I use.
But why did NPC item come to me?
Let’s check that too.
[Reverse possible. User gives item to NPC, appears owning it next time.]
[Unclear if carries to other parties' climbs.]
[May or may not. Mostly not, but confirmed cases exist.]
[Needs more verification—]
NPC-received items appear next climb.
Unclear if only for gifting party, but confirmed for them at least.
So my NPC who got ring from 2EE must have it on 2EE’s next climb.
Thus.
“Does the original me need to hold the item?”
Well, my NPC duplicates from me.
Not pre-scripted Tower story—story generates as I climb.
If original me climbs without item, Nightmare records it. Contradicts NPC needing item for 2EE’s climb.
Item would vanish.
That’s the real bug.
To fix, item comes to me.
Not certain, but result is this.
Or System just dumb.
Heh.
Now I know, gotta exploit it. Ignoring is inefficient.
So.
“Heh heh heh heh……”
Doom 3F.
Time to climb, right??
I’m about to get way stronger.
Gonna troll the System.
Plus other reasons, but item duplication. How could I resist?
Scamming disguised NPC hunters.
I can’t resist.
