Miyeon's Daily Life ④ - 12
"Jinseok. Do the dishes, please."
"Got it, sis."
Clink-clink.
After finishing breakfast, Jinseok cleared the leftover side dishes and washed them up. Whenever he and Miyeon ate at home together, Jinseok usually handled the dishes. After a short break, the two headed out for their workout.
Miyeon and Jinseok used the gym facilities inside Geoseong Heights for their exercise. The building they lived in was a luxurious apartment complex, complete with top-notch amenities: an indoor jogging track doubling as a garden, tennis courts, a high-end health club, a swimming pool rivaling a water park, and even a screen golf range.
They relied on professional hero training facilities for serious drills, but the internal setup at Geoseong Heights was more than sufficient for basic conditioning and stamina building.
"Hoo! Haa!"
Miyeon was jogging along the track, loosening up her body. She wore skin-tight leggings and a tank top, her ponytail swinging like a tail as she ran. Since the goal was building foundational stamina, she ran without using her abilities, relying solely on her natural physical prowess. Her breaths came heavy as she kept a normal pace.
Her outfit, chosen for ease of movement, fully accentuated her slender, alluring figure—like she was proudly displaying it to everyone around. Of course, Miyeon wasn't trying to show off her beauty; she simply ignored the stares from the men nearby.
The tight workout clothes highlighted her long, sleek legs, smooth curves, firm and bouncy hips, narrow waist, and perky, perfectly shaped breasts. Her body was irresistibly captivating.
"Whoa! It's Yoo Miyeon for real."
"Her face and figure are killer."
"How's she that gorgeous without even being a celeb?"
Miyeon's run naturally drew all eyes. The men nearby turned to watch her in unison. She always commanded attention during workouts. Geoseong Heights housed plenty of top-tier female celebrities, so residents were used to seeing stunning beauties in the communal areas. But Miyeon's looks outshone even them, leaving everyone in agreement that she was the pinnacle of beauty.
Some guys even pretended to exercise just to catch a glimpse of her.
"Damn, she's the best."
"Pretty face, killer body. So jealous."
"She'd be huge as an idol. Weird she skips variety shows."
"…Heh."
Even the female celebrities gazed at her with envy. Miyeon's beauty was the kind no one could help but admire. That said, a few shot her meaningful glances—women dressed in unusually revealing outfits, which made Jinseok avert his eyes quickly.
(Tch. Everyone drooling over sis.)
Running alongside Miyeon, Jinseok glared at the men ogling her perfect body, his face twisted in dissatisfaction. Not that he worried for her safety— an S-rank hero like Miyeon could protect herself anytime.
(Sis is way too defenseless with all these guys staring.)
Still, he couldn't wrap his head around how oblivious she was to their gazes. Years of suppressing emotions as an S-rank hero from a young age had made her aloof to trivial matters.
(Argh, I can't stand them keep staring at her.)
"One! Two! One! Two!"
Jinseok picked up the pace, jogging faster to wedge himself between Miyeon and the leering men, blocking their view. Though Miyeon was tall, Jinseok's muscular, burly build made it easy to shield her.
"Tch, who's that guy? Her bodyguard?"
"Like an S-rank like Yoo Miyeon needs one?"
"Heard he's her little bro. B-rank hero."
"B-rank? That's nothing special."
"Ruining the view."
"Siscon, huh? Can't blame him with a sister like that."
The men, who had been fixated on her bouncing breasts and flexing glutes, grumbled in disappointment as the big guy cut in.
(Serves you right. Heh.)
Jinseok smirked inwardly, blocking her body while running and enjoying their frustrated faces.
…
After several laps around the track, they finished their run and sat on a bench to catch their breath, sipping water. The expansive track felt like an indoor park, beautifully landscaped and perfect for resting.
"Hello, Miyeon."
"You're… Yeong-gun, right?"
As they rested, a man approached Miyeon. Tall, small-faced with perfect proportions, and strikingly handsome—Baek Yeong-gun, the pop idol known as Yeong-gun. A top-tier celebrity who'd debuted as a teen, hit international fame, and amassed global fans.
(This guy's… the one from that variety show sis did recently.)
Jinseok tensed at the sudden approach. Miyeon had guested on a popular show not long ago, and Yeong-gun had been there too. Jinseok had noticed his lingering stares and overly familiar vibe toward her.
(Yeong-gun, huh. Not a fan.)
Handsome and popular, but Yeong-gun was dogged by rumors and scandals—frequent dating whispers with other female stars. Huge following, lousy reputation.
"Miyeon, how about dinner tonight? Just us?"
Yeong-gun slid onto the bench beside her, leaning in close to whisper boldly.
(What the— is that a date invite?!)
Jinseok watched in shock and dismay. He hadn't expected this guy to straight-up ask her out. Worse, Yeong-gun's hand hovered near her hip, like he might grope her any second.
(Hey, what the hell are you doing to my sister?!)
Jinseok barely contained his rage, seeing Miyeon's cool, unchanging expression.
"Sorry, but no."
"What?"
Miyeon rejected him flatly, her tone even. Yeong-gun looked stunned, like rejection was unthinkable.
"I'm serious, Miyeon. Just the two of us? Some other time then?"
"No. Thanks for the invite, but I'll pass."
She shut him down firmly again. Yeong-gun's face twisted in embarrassment, anger, and humiliation. He'd always toyed with women he fancied, never been turned down.
"Tch! Whatever. Thought you'd be fun…"
He stormed off, fuming. His sneaky advances crushed in one go.
"Phew—"
Jinseok sighed in relief. He'd feared she might waver, but she'd stonewalled him.
"Heh, Yeong-gun got shot down hard."
"Classic Sword Princess. Clean cut."
Nearby men, who'd watched the fiasco, snickered as he slunk away. Yeong-gun's playboy rep preceded him, even in celeb-heavy Geoseong Heights. Everyone savored his rejection.
