Let's Take the Punishment Together
After a full day of rest, I fired the stream back up.
And the very first thing I did on that stream was this.
“I’m really sorry….”
Lee Yebin’s apology broadcast. Yeah—this had to come first.
There were all kinds of reactions, but I decided to just take care of the weird one in the middle and move on.
There are things you can say and things you can’t, and unfortunately you went and said the thing you shouldn’t have.
Still, the mood wasn’t completely rotten today, so I’d slap a one-week ban on him and make him post an apology. Then I’d specially let it slide.
While I was busy cutting that viewer’s throat, Lee Yebin launched straight into the follow-up talk.
“First… I already apologized to Dodo for leaking his name, and he accepted it pretty well.”
“The water’s already spilled—not like I could refuse it even if I wanted to.”
“My Buddy Gyeong my ass—am I your friend?”
Immediately put in my place by the age ranking, I leaned as hard as I could into the bit and slammed my head down in apology.
“Aigoo, big bro, I’m so sorry. Please climb aboard the A-frame carrier~”
I slapped a one-minute ban right then and there and gave them the full Goryeojang treatment. The chat started trembling on the spot.
Yeah—this is the real Dodo-room atmosphere. The kind that rides UFC and WWE energy. This is the best. This is electric.
Meanwhile, over on Lee Yebin’s side, she started announcing the most important part.
“So after talking it over with Dodo, we agreed that from now on we’ll do regular half-cam collab streams together every so often….”
“What do you mean sold my name, you bastards.”
The banter kicked off again, and as always it ended with my defeat, but something about it still left a bad taste.
My name gets sold and all I get in return is regular half-cam streams with Lee Yebin? Isn’t this a massive loss?
I could feel the complaints rising, but I had no choice except to swallow them somehow. There wasn’t much else we could even do in the first place.
“So… we’re about to start the stream back up for real, everyone. Problem is, we don’t have anything to play right now.”
The second the viewer protests started, I hit them with the greasiest possible deflection.
“Come on, chat, think about it for a second. When exactly were we supposed to prepare anything? It’s only been two days since that whole disaster blew up. This is the part where you cut us some slack! Right!”
I tried a little brainwashing, but unfortunately the viewers had zero interest in being brainwashed.
Whoa. “We’ll make you play an adult game.” That threat actually hit hard.
“Okay, okay, adult-game threat received. Sorry. We’ll find a game right now.”
I opened my game platform library and started scrolling through the titles.
Something I could use to mess with Lee Yebin just enough while still creating fun situations… what would that be?
I kept thinking as I scrolled down, and then one game suddenly jumped out at me.
“Hey, BiniBiniBiniBini.”
“What? You find a game?”
“I found one, but I’m not sure if it’ll be okay for you.”
“What game?”
“It’s a Korean game called Sefirot. You know it?”
Sefirot.
A 2D dot-art action rogue-lite where you control cute bipedal animal characters.
Still in early access, but the reviews were solid.
Great hit feedback, great speed, and even with the early-access caveats the balance was pretty decent.
Plus it wasn’t a bad pick for a complete newbie.
Of course the difficulty itself was high—rogue-lite nature and all. Lee Yebin was absolutely going to get her soul beaten out of her.
Which only made my heart race more. Fun. Electric. Fresh.
Whether she noticed my dark ulterior motives or not, Lee Yebin was already buying the game.
“I’m buying it now—do I need any mods or anything?”
“Nah, no mods. Just do the tutorial and come back.”
“Oki oki~”
With that, Lee Yebin jumped straight into the tutorial, and I started raid-watching her stream so I could give her “helpful” advice.
“Excuse me, ma’am, what are you doing moving like that? You need to move upward.”
“Ah what! This is my first time playing, okay?!”
“Fiwst time pwaying~”
“Ah for real!!”
Honestly the tutorial was loose enough that you could half-ass the controls, but I was going to nitpick her anyway.
Nitpicking is good. Nitpicking is best.
Regardless, Lee Yebin managed to finish the tutorial, and I casually asked her a question.
“Which weapon feels good in your hands?”
“Hmm~ Dagger? Dagger feels pretty solid.”
Sefirot has six weapons total.
The most basic: sword and shield.
The heavy steel greatsword that hits hard and can deal area damage.
The dagger that lets you spam rapid attacks.
The large crossbow for ranged play.
The glaive with average attack speed and decent range.
And finally the staff, slow but capable of parry-and-counterplay.
The crossbow, glaive, and staff unlock later, so the only options available to Lee Yebin right now were sword-and-shield, greatsword, and dagger.
Picking the dagger meant she was going for a riskier playstyle—but for a newbie, moving fast probably just felt more fun.
—Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Lee Yebin flailed the dagger around in the practice area and asked me,
“So we’re playing together now, right?”
Playing together now?
“No? You have to do it alone.”
“…… What?”
Lee Yebin switched to polite speech in pure disbelief, and I answered with maximum shamelessness.
“Your multiplayer isn’t unlocked yet. You have to play solo until multiplayer opens.”
“What??”
“Hurry up and go, you brat.”
“You crazy bastard…!”
She cursed and grumbled the whole way, but she still went into the game.
And then….
—Whoosh! Whoo-whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
She was clearing the first stage more smoothly than expected.
“Ooooh~ BiniBini~ What are you, some kind of prodigy~”
“I can handle this much, okay~”
That little mouse looking so proud of herself was somehow irritating. I kind of wanted to smack her once.
Still, I decided to hold back. Holding back a reasonable amount was the right call. Yeah, yeah.
Right as I was about to give her some actual praise—
—Shook!
Lee Yebin threw out a dash attack and….
—Wheeeeeeeeee~
……straight off the edge of the map.
Luckily this game is pretty merciful—falling doesn’t kill you instantly. It just chips your health and dumps you back onto the field.
But still, what was that?
“Wow~ You just ran straight off the cliff? Be careful walking down stairs, you might trip.”
Perfect nitpick angle.
“Shiiiit…! I didn’t know that drop was there!”
“Aww, is that so, our little Bini~ You didn’t know the drop was there~”
“Iiiiiiiiik…!”
Lee Yebin started getting properly furious, and I just kept teasing her.
Anyway, she kept descending floor by floor and gradually got more comfortable with the game.
Of course, that only lasted so long.
When it came time to pick the next map, Lee Yebin tossed me a question.
“Hey, which path should I take here?”
This is a rogue-lite where you gather relics and get stronger—meaning reading the map and deciding where to go and how to power up is a huge part of the game.
And if I just taught her properly, that would be no fun at all.
“Pathfinding initiated. Pathfinding terminated. Figure it out yourself.”
“Sorry, I didn’t realize you were a complete idiot when I asked for directions.”
“To the idiot who reads maps upside-down, there is no path I can teach.”
“Ugh, I seriously want to beat the crap out of you.”
“Fine, fine. Just go straight down the middle.”
“Straight down the middle? Oki.”
Lee Yebin obediently followed my advice….
“Yeah, my heart died. Good luck, Bini.”
“Huh? What? Why?”
The reason I recommended the middle path.
That reason was….
If you go straight down the middle, you run into three mid-bosses in a row.
Three mid-bosses. That should be enough to wipe Lee Yebin at least once.
Whether she figured it out through the chat or not, Lee Yebin predictably flung her headset off….
“Ah, ah! Stop, stop!!”
I immediately tried to block her from coming over.
But Lee Yebin reached my room first….
—Chomp!
“Aaaargh! Hey! Hey! Let go of my arm! Let go you crazy bitch!!”
“Grrrrrrrr!!!”
This time the insane dog started biting my arm.
She really is a complete maniac, isn’t she.
