So When Are We Doing It?
June gave way to July, and the final day of Repu Mountain arrived.
The two-week server had been a short stretch of time, yet it had become a shelter for countless streamers and, at the same time, content in its own right.
Thanks to this streamer server, some creators had risen out of nowhere, new connections had formed between others, and the server itself had earned plenty of praise for feeling more like a quiet healing space than a pure dopamine free-for-all.
As for Repu himself…
"Next time we're going full dopamine. Dopamine server only."
He had decided a dopamine server would be better and announced he would build one.
Anyway, that left us on the server's very last day.
Yebin and I were doing what we always did—mining our brains out.
Clack-clack-clack-clack!
Clack-clack-clack-clack!
While we swung our picks, the conversation drifted away from anything about Repu Mountain and settled into ordinary daily nonsense.
And that ordinary nonsense went like this:
"I'm telling you, a hippo is stronger."
"No way. A crocodile's stronger than a hippo."
"Are you brain-dead? What can a crocodile even do once a hippo sits on it?"
"You're the brain-dead one. One good chomp from a croc and that hippo's bawling its eyes out."
A truly philosophical debate on which animal was stronger: hippo or crocodile.
For the record, I was Team Hippo. Yebin was Team Crocodile.
I still had no idea which empty skull had produced the idea that a crocodile was stronger, but Yebin was definitely the brain-dead one here.
Common sense said a hippo was stronger. How could anyone argue otherwise?
Talking any further would only hurt my mouth, so I decided to cut the conversation short.
"Ugh, talking to you is pointless."
"You're the one who can't talk sense."
"Haa…"
"Hmph."
The viewers seemed to find our reactions hilarious and started cackling.
For the record, my entire chat had swung hard toward the hippo being stronger.
Yebin's side was saying hippo as well.
"Hey, even your chat says the hippo is stronger. At this point aren't you just one-eyed?"
"Nope. All of you are one-eyed. I'm the only one with both eyes open."
"Then you're the weirdo. How is a two-eyed person normal in a village full of one-eyed people?"
"Is this what the sages of old felt? How can everyone be this stupid?"
The endless back-and-forth was finally broken by something that suddenly popped into my head.
This… is it okay to bring this up?
I hesitated for a second, then realized something.
The fact that I was even hesitating wasn't like me at all.
Yeah. A Do Gyeong had to act like a Do Gyeong, right?
With that mindset locked in, I spoke straight to Yebin.
"Hey, Vini."
"What, One-Eye."
This brat's sulking again. Sulking is basically her default mode, huh?
"When are you gonna do that thing?"
"That thing?"
Yebin shot the question right back at me like she had no idea what I meant.
I seriously have to say it out loud?
I was still debating whether I should spell it out when the chat, of course, chose that exact moment to pile on.
I was pretty sure I'd just spotted some weird words in there.
"Hey. What's this 'goddess-tier body' crap. You—yeah, you. Explain yourself."
The second I singled out one viewer, Yebin slammed the media blackout button.
"Hey hey hey, you crazy bastards! Why would you go tell HIM that?! You, the one who said it—shut your mouth! Mouth closed, no exceptions!"
"It's fine. I'll protect you. Just tell me."
Armed with my firm guarantee of protection, the trembling viewer finally spoke up.
Ah.
Mm.
Uh.
"…… Right. Vini. That can happen."
"What? Why are you being weird about it."
"This oppa understands."
"Don't you 'oppa' me."
"It's true, you crazy girl. You were born later than me."
"You're really pulling the oppa card over that?"
I ignored her completely. My words were the truth, after all.
"Yeah… body so fire that guys keep staring… yeah… that's why it's goddess-tier, huh… mm…"
"Fuck."
The curse that flew straight out of Yebin's mouth felt like ten years of indigestion finally clearing up.
You're so cooked today.
"Wow, your body's fire? Hmm? What body do you even have, you little pig."
"Pig? You wanna die for real?"
"You're fatter than me, for starters."
"You're a skeleton…!"
"Better a skeleton than fat."
We bickered back and forth, dragging each other's insecurities into the open.
In the middle of it I hit lava while mining and immediately told her.
"Lava up ahead. Dig any further and you're bacon."
"Bacon, what are you even—KYAAAAAAH!"
The way she screamed right then told me everything. Yep. She hadn't listened.
"Block it with stone."
"Aaaah! I don't know, I don't know, save m—!"
ViniVini fell into lava!
… How do you die because you can't even react to that. Is she actually brain-dead.
"Hey."
"What."
The mood cooled for a moment, so I decided to ask again.
"When are we playing the horror game."
"Ah."
Yebin went completely stiff, and that reaction told me everything I needed to know.
She forgot. One hundred percent.
"You really let that one slip right out of your head, huh."
"No, that…! I couldn't help it…! I was busy, okay…!"
"Busy with what, you brat."
"I was busy!"
"Doing what."
"…… I don't know, dummy."
Wow. What a convenient excuse. Seriously?
I had about a dozen things I wanted to grill her over, but I decided to let it go for now.
Push any harder and we'd be back in full civil war mode.
Meanwhile the viewers seemed curious about why Yebin had agreed to a horror game in the first place.
Watching the chat and reading the room, I decided to test the waters with Yebin first. If she looked okay with it, I'd just drop the bomb.
"Hey. Chat's asking why you're playing a horror game."
"Uh… um… just a promise. It's summer, right? Horror games are perfect for the season."
Ah. I see how it is.
At first I was going to let it slide—for the sake of Yebin's human dignity.
But you know what?
I couldn't forgive this.
I was simply too honest and kind a person; hearing a lie made thorns sprout all over my body. So you'd better understand.
You don't understand? Too bad for you.
"Hey, Vini."
"… I don't know what you're about to say, but can you just shut up?"
"This taste… this is the taste of pure bullshit!"
"Hey, you better shut the f—"
When you're doing an insider leak, the two most important things are speed and delivery. So I said it right then and there.
"I cleaned her room and used the Wish Coupon she gave me to make her play a horror game."
One simple line. Just that one line was enough…
…… The reaction was nothing like what I'd expected.
Where was the "Yebin's room is a disaster" roasting energy? This wasn't it at all.
"… The guy who just made the eunuch joke. Get out."
Your intentions are way too obvious, you bastard.
And then…
"YOU CRAZY BASTAAAAARD!!!"
Yebin came storming straight into my house.
The second she hit the doorbell, Yeon opened the door for her.
How many times had she barged in for Yeon to come running like Pavlov's dog the moment Yebin rang the bell? This was getting ridiculous.
SMACK!!
"AAAAAAGH!"
"WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU SAY THAAAAAT!!!"
Yebin walloped me right on the head—hard.
This crazy girl. Even when she hits, does she have to hit that hard?
Clutching my head, I had no choice but to roll around on the floor of my room.
Seriously, it hurt way too much.
Regardless of all that, the stream kept going, and the time finally came for the Repu Mountain server to close.
When that moment arrived, every streamer gathered together to look out over the Repu Mountain we had all built…
"Thank you to every streamer and every viewer who enjoyed Repu Mountain with us! Next time we'll be back with an even more fun streamer server. This has been Repu!"
With those words from Repu, the Repu Mountain streamer server officially came to an end.
Right after that we ended up doing an afterparty stream, and our sins were far too deep.
"So, so, what game are you two going to play?"
"I recommend this one!"
"I'll recommend this~"
"If it's a couple, it's gotta be this!"
It wasn't an afterparty anymore—it had turned into a full-on horror game recommendation session for me and Yebin.
We'll figure it out ourselves, people.
