It's Faster to Kill in Real Life
My turn as the killer ended in my victory, capped off by Lee Yebin's cheat key of a reality gank.
After that, it was the others' turn to play the killer. Naturally, none of them were particularly difficult—except when it was Aris's turn.
For the record, during Aris's turn...
"Come here! Let me kill youuu!"
"Kyaaaah! Tasuketeee!"
Whoosh! Crunch!!
"Gack."
"Isn't a mori the best revenge?"
"Aris, can't we resolve this through communication...?"
"The name of my axe happens to be 'Communication,' you know?"
Crunch!!!
I got mori'd, suffering a taste of my own medicine.
Of course, since she let everyone else escape just to get that mori on me, from my perspective, the survivors won, so it felt like a win. Still, I wasn't thrilled that Lee Yebin got out alive.
Honestly, if Aris had actually tried to kill everyone, she could have wiped out all but one or two. The fact that she targeted only me shows she really knows how to work the camera.
There were three main highlights of this stream.
My bitter rivalry with Lee Yebin, my rival match with Aris, and finally, the shift in behavior from the WGM couple.
Aris put some effort into our rival match. In the process, she let Yebin escape, which successfully stoked my anger.
A truly excellent choice on her part.
Afterward, Marty-hyung and Ggumyong showed off their sweetness, strictly maintaining their WGM concept even if it meant trolling by letting each other slide at least twice.
"Ggumyong-nuna, I'll pretend I didn't see you, so run. Got it?"
"Martyyy..."
"Oops, my hand slipped."
"Marty, thank you...!!"
Some might call it match-fixing, but honestly, no one cared. We all gathered to have a good laugh, and the remaining three of us fully expected those two to act like that anyway.
Anyway, once that sweet yet cringeworthy couple's turn as the killer ended...
It was finally time for the last player: Lee Yebin.
The killer Yebin chose was the Spirit. She was currently considered a Tier 2 killer, but she was definitely sitting right below Tier 1.
This was thanks to her incredible mobility.
But that wasn't the important part.
"Hey, Dodo."
"Yes?"
"You. I am definitely going to kill you."
Did my playing with her earlier spark this? Yebin had declared a personal vendetta against me.
"Obsessive pure love, wholesome, real dating—shut your mouths, all of you."
While I was venting my frustration at the viewers, Yebin showed a similar reaction.
"I told you we're not like that! Manager-unni! Ban them!!"
Wow, she's actually banning people. I'm way nicer, aren't I?
"Wow, banning them? That's harsh. The viewers are just playing around. Everyone in Vini's chat, ditch her and come over to my stream. I'll treat you right."
"Girlfriend? You, get out."
If you cross the line, I have no choice but to ban you too, guys.
In response to my reaction, the viewers were just saying things like, "As expected of a couple, they react the same way."
We are not a couple. I'm way out of her league, so why would I date her?
Anyway, the game started, and I immediately began cleansing a nearby shrine.
Cleansing the shrine was over in a flash, and I secured a key right away.
Furthermore, since another key had been secured elsewhere, there were only two keys left to find.
The reason the game's tempo was this fast was probably because Aris and I were playing together. When two relatively veteran players are playing as survivors, the game's pace is bound to be lightning-fast.
So, for the sake of the stream, I really hoped Yebin would find me.
Of course, I had no intention of dying easily. Why?
Because if I just let myself die, it wouldn't be fun for me. Only Yebin would have fun.
Wouldn't it be much more entertaining for the viewers to see me tease Yebin and watch her blow her top?
With that thought in mind, I began cleansing a second shrine.
At that moment.
Swoooosh...
The sound effect indicating the Spirit's arrival echoed.
I immediately mapped out my current position and identified a spot where I could toy with Yebin.
I immediately started wiggling left and right to provoke her.
As soon as she materialized, Yebin screamed.
"Just die alreadyyy!"
Whoosh!
The Spirit's claws lunged toward me, and I immediately juked in the opposite direction.
Thwack!!
Having hit the shrine instead of me, Yebin's Spirit suffered a brief attack recovery animation. I stepped slightly forward and began wiggling left and right again.
"Come on, come on! Did Bubba send you? Come on!"
"You are so dead...!"
Fuming with rage, Yebin began chasing me again, and I started juking her once more.
Whoosh! Swish! Swish! Swish!
"Try and hit me, try and hit me! You're so trash!!"
Whoosh!!
Swoosh!
The Spirit's swinging claws sliced through nothing but thin air. Regardless, I kept juking and taunting her.
"Come on! Come on! Hey, hey, hey! Is that the best you can do?"
"Aaaaahhh!! I'm going to kill youuu!!!"
Fade...
The Spirit vanished, and I was certain of her next move.
Yebin's Spirit was going to phase through the spirit world and pop out to kill me.
Anticipating this, I kept wiggling left and right, planning to toy with her even more.
After a brief moment.
Flash!!
The Spirit materialized out of the spirit world and lunged at me.
Swish!
I juked to dodge it again, then immediately headed toward a pallet.
There are several mechanics in this game that allow survivors to lose the killer, and the pallet is easily the most annoying of them all.
Pallets are placed between obstacles. If you drop a pallet during a chase and hit the killer with it, they get stunned for a short duration.
A stunned killer can break the pallet to continue the chase, but the time wasted because of a single pallet is significant. If they play it poorly, they can lose too much time and fail the chase entirely.
But us veteran survivors? The ones killers call "survi-monsters"? We use this differently.
"Come on, come on! Did Bubba send you?!"
"Who the hell is Bubba?!"
"Haven't you seen the movie? How uncultured."
"I'm way more cultured than you!!"
I slammed the pallet down right in front of Yebin's Spirit as she rushed in, completely blinded by rage.
The Spirit was stunned by the pallet, and I deliberately stepped a bit closer to her.
"Come here, come here. Who's a good girl?"
Calling her like she was a puppy made Yebin completely explode.
"Aaaaahhh!! I swear, I am going to catch you if it's the last thing I do!!!"
With that roar of fury, she lunged at me again. I juked her slightly before heading back to the pallet.
Whoosh!
Then, using the survivor's privilege of vaulting, I crossed over to the other side in an instant.
Yebin spotted me vaulting the pallet as she rounded the corner, so she pivoted and came after me.
Whoosh!
I vaulted back to the other side, leaving Yebin completely flustered.
"Who's a good girl? Our Vini~ I'm over here~"
"Aaaaahhhhh!!!"
Yebin's rage-filled scream echoed through the voice chat.
Click! Click! Click! Click!
I repeatedly clicked my flashlight at her, executing a textbook taunt. Completely losing her mind, she chased after me again.
Whoosh!
As I vaulted the pallet yet again, Yebin finally came to her senses and began breaking it.
Thud! Crack!
With that sound, I bolted once more, continuing our delightful game of tag.
While we were busy playing tag, I checked the top of the screen and saw that all four keys had been collected.
Yes, the escape conditions were met.
Naturally, as the chase dragged on, the other three survivors made their escape, leaving only Yebin and me in the match.
"Damn it, just let me catch you once, please...!"
Yebin's anger was now giving way to desperation.
Seeing her so desperate, I felt a momentary pang of guilt. Yes, quite unlike myself, I felt a little sorry for her.
In the end...
Smack!
After playing around a bit more, I let her catch me.
"Phew... Finally caught you. Seriously."
"Ah, what a shame... I was almost done playing with you."
Once I saw Yebin celebrate her victory, this uncharacteristic guilt of mine would surely vanish.
Yes, that's what I thought, but...
"Look at you, completely helpless~ Got caught by a newbie, didn't you~"
This cheeky brat was taunting me.
Completely oblivious to my mercy.
You need to be taught a lesson.
Yebin hoisted my character onto her shoulder, and I struggled, trying to wiggle free.
Then, after a moment.
Stab!
I stabbed the back of her hand with my pocket knife.
As the Spirit groaned, I bolted...
...and stood right over the hatch I had spotted earlier.
"Stop right there, you jerk!!!"
Yebin's furious voice came through, and I decided to teach her and the viewers a life lesson.
"Vini-Vini, you should have lived a good life!"
Jump!
My character jumped down into the hatch...
"Aaaaahhh! You are so dead!!!"
Along with her scream of rage, Yebin made noises indicating she was moving away from her screen again.
She's coming for another reality gank, huh? Well, I have a countermeasure.
"Hey, Yeon-ah."
"Yeah~? What~?"
"If you open the door for her again, no allowance for you this month."
Allowance—the ultimate leverage.
However, there was one thing I had forgotten.
"Yebin-unni promised to pay me more, though?"
"Ah."
She was getting an allowance from Yebin too.
"Gyeong-dooo...!!!"
Smack!!!
"Arghhh!!!"
This burning sting.
I can say this with absolute certainty. Out of all the women in the world, she is the strongest. I seriously wonder why she didn't take up martial arts with that kind of talent.
