Preparation #1
While I was deep in discussions with the jo-ryeokja, hashing out the grand migration plan, a portal ripped open from the warp device. Omega stepped through, right into our hideout.
"Came to hang out. Poof poof."
Omega skipped over to me with light steps, then plopped down right beside me.
"This looks yummy, yang."
"Thanks, poof."
Merino quickly served up some scrap metal snacks, which Omega gobbled down.
"This slurrrp is awesome!"
"Thanks, poof poof."
Omega gulped down the oil Zapan had dispensed.
I paused my conversation with the jo-ryeokja and turned my gaze to Omega.
"Perfect timing. I was just about to ask you something."
"Poof poof?"
"Omega, do you have any tech for creating a dimensional veil?"
"Dimensional veil? No tech for that. Never felt the need, so never researched it."
"...Really? That's a shame."
"But if the tech doesn't exist, I can just make it. Start research now, and I can build a dimensional veil generator. Poof poof."
"Huh? For real?"
"For real. Starting now, it'd take about a year for a perfect one. For a basic version, six months is plenty."
"Ah. A year is kinda..."
"Poof poof. No prior knowledge, so it'll take time."
Even a basic veil would take six months, so Omega's tech wasn't something to bank on.
"No need for the dimensional veil generator then, poof poof?"
"No, still research it. Might need it later. No rush, though."
"Got it. I'll tinker with it in my spare time. Purrlong."
No harm in developing it. Could be useful for a strong veil over Elemen西亚 later.
"Nah, can't. It's not the planet—it's the dimension itself that's the issue."
We had to abandon Earth's dimension. Once the veil vanishes, world coordinates would be fully exposed. Some worlds already seemed aware.
Of course, if Omega invents the veil generator later, we could reclaim Earth. I could ask for coordinate-jamming tech too, to prevent more exposure.
But by then, the planet would be too ravaged for humans to survive.
Meanwhile, in Elemen시아—our new home—migrants would adapt, building a fledgling civilization.
Best to cut Earth loose cleanly.
Even if Black Magma Slime purified the ruins, abandoning a new civilization to rebuild on a wasteland would be inefficient.
Better to send scouting parties to salvage Earth relics continuously, rather than resettling there.
Though the otherworlders might destroy it beyond repair fighting among themselves.
Earth's population had hit 8 billion already? News to me.
Anyway. "Realistically, migrating everyone is impossible."
I had no intention of saving the whole 8 billion. I'm no naive hero chasing impossible ideals while ignoring reality.
So, the plan was selective migration, with priorities:
My contacts. Jo-ryeokja. Their families and friends. Engineers and experts in key fields. High-value talent, in that order.
Guilt? No need. I'm no savior, and this isn't abandoning them—it's leaving them to their world.
Got to stay cold. Mercy-driven mistakes would doom everyone.
If there's time, we'll grab lower-priority folks, but survival odds would be slim by then.
I shared this with the jo-ryeokja. Surprisingly, no objections.
"No clue. Ask Sage—you're with her."
"Elris'll convince 'em. Devoted Hero's rep should make it easy."
"Anyway, Elris, handle it. Make sure Earthlings migrate smoothly—convince folks as needed."
Elemen시아's population was still high. Many non-combatants survived the Human-Monster Great War, despite hero losses.
But as Elris said, countless continents dotted Elemenシア. Most humans clustered on one, rebuilding nations.
Plenty of spares for Earthlings.
Many Elemenシア continents dwarfed Earth's combined landmass. Elemenシア was dozens of times larger than Kendorra; Earth was bigger than Kendorra but not by much.
Even all 8 billion could fit comfortably on one continent.
"Yeah... it does."
Forgot I'd switched to casual with Ha Yu-mi. Slipped back quick.
"Elris'll pick a low-threat continent. Don't worry."
"True, but once adapted, it's way better than veil-less future Earth. Not all monsters hate humans—you know that. Elemen시아 has tons of friendly ones."
Tame the friendly ones. Use them against hostiles.
Basically, become monster tamers.
No special powers needed—just technique, and even F-grade tamers could manage. Elemenシア locals could teach it.
"Plus, I'll request mages and psychics to train on the Earthling continent."
"Not exclusive. Anyone with talent can learn."
No issue for jo-ryeokja without powers—they had my gear.
The jo-ryeokja seemed fine leaving Earth for Elemen시아—no resistance.
Feels like I'm the one most attached to Earth.
Bittersweet. Sealed my power to return, yet heading back to Elemenシア.
Though return timing was unknown.
...When I do return, it'll work for Elemenシア too.
Couldn't tell if jo-ryeokja were faking nonchalance, but I resolved to let Earth go.
Earth bonds would migrate safely to Elemenシア. Main return reason was Elemenシア's backward tech anyway.
No issue now. Post-migration, dispatch Omega periodically to build advanced civilization there.
Elemenシア's betrayal, death, war? I'd fix it personally.
Unlike before, with raw power alone, now I had diverse monster allies. Peaceful utopia? Doable.
Anyway. First, get Elemen시아 key figures' approval for migration.
No need to tell Earthlings yet—Sage's recovery post-apocalypse.
In that chaos, who'd refuse rescue? Suicidal idiots aside.
On some Elemenシア continent.
"E-Elris!"
"Elemen시아's hero, Devoted Hero, we meet at last!!"
"That's the legend..."
"Elris! Thanks for saving my life in the war! I'll never forget that favor!"
"Huh? What's that weird monster next to Elris...?"
"I know that monster! The Peace Demon King!"
"What? The one that saved tons of humans during the war!?"
"Did she tame the Demon King? As expected of Elris...!"
At Kang Geon's request, Elris visited the humans' new unified nation settlement.
Passing them, she approached the central figure of current Elemenシア.
Stopping before her, the woman bowed politely first.
"Long time no see, Devoted Hero."
"Long time, Maria."
The woman Elris visited was Maria Jane Johnson. An A-grade saintess who survived the Human-Monster Great War.
