02 Is This Job Name for Real?
02 Is This Job Name for Real?
A faint, semi-circular aura spread out from me.
"?!"
Oh. Getting a reaction right away. They look surprised.
"Why? Or did you realize it? The only ones who deserve to be killed are those prepared to be killed—"
"Attack!"
"Haaah!"
....
I'm talking here, you assholes!
"If you have time to spout nonsense, just attack."
Tsk... Can't even argue with that, it's a fair point...
"Argh! You, you bitcheees...!!"
"Kya-hahaha! This is super easy! Die!!"
Cha-ah-yang, who has the [Berserker] job, swings her sword ferociously, and every time she does, a head goes flying into the sky...
She's usually quiet, keeps her head down, or hides behind Yuna-ssi, but she completely changes like that when hunting.
"Damn it... You sons of bitches!!!"
"<<Sword Qi>>"
The men struggling in desperation, and my party attacking mercilessly.
A deep blue streak of energy began to scatter wildly from Yuna-ssi's sword.
Oh. Is this a real attack? I've never seen Yuna-ssi's attack skills before. All I've seen is her [Sword Barrier]...
Swaaek - !
As she swung her sword, covered in blue energy, horizontally, the air in front of her compressed and then exploded, creating a massive shockwave. It was enough to shake the very dungeon.
Pu-hwak!
And then, five or six heads were lopped off.
It didn't even hit them with the blade, but the shockwave sliced their necks... I shouldn't mess with her... Yup...
Besides those two, Hana-ssi and Sora-nuna were also steadily cutting down enemies. What am I doing, you ask? My agility is low, so I'm still running towards them. The description was long, but this all happened in just 2-3 seconds.
Now, there are two guys in front of me too.
In total, there are only six left.
Only then did they seem to grasp the situation, and they were terrified.
"H-hey... let's talk for a second..."
Fuck off.
Paang - !
I punched the terrified man's breastplate.
Honestly, I did it because I didn't think a sword would be very meaningful, but the armor didn't just dent; a huge hole was punched right through it.
Naturally, instant death.
"Keuk...!"
"Hiik!"
Ah, does this mean the armor is unusable...?
Hmm... If it's good stuff, I'll just repair it.
"Mo...nster...."
"Yup. Thanks."
Next, I used a 'Normal Punch' on the guy next to him!
This time, I safely(?) aimed for his head. Sure enough, his face exploded with a pop. Ah. That's gruesome.
Thud....
The headless corpse kneels and collapses.
Looking around, the battle was already over.
Even though there were 15 of them and they said the average level was 19, they got taken out way too easily.
This is all thanks to my skill, haha.
"It's over."
Yuna-ssi dusted off her hands and walked over to the guys she killed.
"Let's loot the bodies we killed ourselves. I killed six, but I'll give two to Han-nam-ssi."
"Oh, really?"
"It's a skill with a terrible naming sense, but thanks to that job, it was easy. I can't ask you beginners to give up your share."
As she said that, she tossed two headless corpses at me. You couldn't find a shred of respect for the dead in her even if you washed your eyes out.
"Hehe... Four, huh...."
I slowly approached.
Time for some fun looting~
It was a bit gruesome, but it wasn't essentially different from searching monster corpses, and in some ways, it was simpler since there was no skinning or anything like that.
Besides, surprisingly, there were no aftereffects from the killing.
"First, the cash~."
Unfortunately, most of their assets would be in their bank accounts, so I can't steal that. But as adventurers, they'd carry some cash. Because it's dollars... Plus, there are guys who only take cash when mugging, and people who even trade inside the dungeon, so they say they usually carry a few hundred dollars.
And above all, these guys are muggers, right? They probably have stuff they stole from other adventurers too.
"Oh. They must have mugged a lot... Why do they have thousands of dollars on them?"
"Waah!"
Almost simultaneously with my exclamation, I heard Sora-nuna's scream from behind.
It wasn't a scream of danger, but a scream of joy. Looks like she hit the jackpot..
After looting the wallets of the 4 guys, a total of $7,593 came out. Hey. How many days of profit is this? In Korean Won, that's well over 8 million won?
8 million won in cash just from looting, that's insane!! And I haven't even looked at the equipment yet!!
"F-first, let's look at the weapons...."
I sorted the weapons with a trembling heart. Since they all seemed to use swords, there was one two-handed sword, one that looked like a katana, one set of dual swords, and one one-handed sword.
Examining them one by one, they were all better than the weapon I was using (obviously...), but one of them made my eyes light up.
Modern kitchen knives are much stronger and tougher than the katanas made by master craftsmen. A Japanese samurai's grudge, displeased by this, possessed a katana made 500 years ago, making it extremely powerful.
Grade: Rare
Classification: One-handed sword (Katana)
+57 Attack Power
+23 Strength
+37 Agility
+210 Max Health
+45 Max Mana
+5% Attack Speed
Skill <<Tsubame Gaeshi>> learned.
Upon a successful attack, there is a certain chance to deal damage equal to 90% of your attack power 2 more times.
Wow... I got a good one...
How much would this sell for...
This guy... carrying such an amazing thing... hehe... and then he died in one shot. Poor guy.
"I shouldn't sell this; I'll use it. Plus, it gives me a skill, right? Even if it's a guy I've seen in some anime."
<<Tsubame Gaeshi>>
Delivers 3 simultaneous sword strikes to a single target. Each strike deals 230% of attack power, with 100% critical hit.
Mana cost: 300
Cooldown: 2 minutes
The skill is pretty good too. 100% critical... and the cooldown is only 2 minutes, this is awesome.
Alright. First, equip this!
Now let's take the accessories and armor too.
There were quite a lot of accessories, mostly rings and necklaces. Most of them only increased Strength or Agility by about 1-2, and if I wanted to, I could put them on all 10 fingers, but honestly, I didn't want to go that far. My stats are already sufficient.
After examining the over 10 accessories, I was able to snag one useful necklace and one useful earring. What are those two, you ask....
<Necklace of Accuracy>
Attacking an enemy's weak point is the secret to certain victory. An ancient mage enchanted it based on this principle, slightly increasing accuracy against weak points.
+6% Critical Rate
+12% Critical Damage
<Earring of Accuracy>
Attacking an enemy's weak point is the secret to certain victory. An ancient mage enchanted it based on this principle, slightly increasing accuracy against weak points.
+5% Critical Rate
+10% Critical Damage
These two fill in my lacking Critical Rate and damage. Well, those will increase on their own as my level goes up, but still, I have to equip things like this.
No matter what game you play, the stats you need to prioritize first are those two. Critical Rate and Critical Damage. That's how you get big damage numbers.
The dungeon is the same. Even if they say it's not a game, stats exist just like in a game. That means the moment you hit 100% Critical Rate, your damage more than doubles.
For reference, the Critical Damage displayed on the status window means that when a critical hit occurs, that amount is added to the existing damage (100%). In other words, if it's Critical Damage +105%, the total damage becomes 205%.
Anyway, that's it for accessories. Let's put the rest in the bag.
Now, all that's left is the armor!
The one that exploded from my punch... hmm... should I just leave it?
<Destroyed Armor>
It was brutally destroyed by the attack of some ignorant human. Irreparable.
"...Let's leave it."
Tsk. What a waste. Next time... yeah, let's attack the crotch. It's a fatal weak point, and there are no accessories to equip there, and not much armor either, so it's a super efficient spot, for sure.
.
.
Unfortunately, there wasn't any armor that stood out as particularly good. They were all decent enough, but still, something was lacking.
For now, the 3 things I put on are.
<Suit of Charm>
A demonic outfit that can maximize a man's charm.
Grade: Magic
Classification: Armor (Set)
Defense: 26
+5 Agility
+11 Charm
+50 Max Health
*Charm Set Effect (3/3)
+15 Charm
+8 Agility
+30 Defense
<Leather Gloves of Charm>
A demonic outfit that can maximize a man's charm.
Grade: Magic
Classification: Armor (Gloves)
Defense: 4
+6 Charm
*Charm Set Effect (3/3)
+15 Charm
+8 Agility
+30 Defense
<Black Shoes of Charm>
A demonic outfit that can maximize a man's charm.
Grade: Magic
Classification: Armor (Shoes)
Defense: 4
+7 Charm
*Charm Set Effect (3/3)
+15 Charm
+8 Agility
+30 Defense
Honestly, you can't say it's that good.
I even doubt the sanity of the guy who tried to go mugging wearing this.
But it's good for me.
Why?
Because I have no Charm stat, low Agility, and my Defense is absurdly high.
So that means I can wear this. Hahaha!
"We're basically done, right? Let's go back for today. We can't carry any more anyway."
Yuna-ssi approached, carrying a huge bag.
The other party members' faces were bright, as if they had packed plenty.
Well, yeah.
Thanks to my stun skill, we safely robbed 15 guys. It's understandable.
I'm a bit worried about the aftereffects of the killing, but coming to the dungeon means you've made some level of resolve anyway. Even if there's hesitation, there's no major impact.
.
.
We finished settling the tiger skins and teeth and immediately ran to the exchange.
There, we submitted the black box footage as evidence that we were attacked first, got the ownership of the items we obtained acknowledged, and then put all the miscellaneous items(?) up on the exchange.
For reference, the total price of the items I put up reaches a whopping $16,000. If you add the $7,500 in cash, that's already $20,000... a lump sum of about 20 million won.
I... it's only my 4th day in the dungeon. So this is why everyone goes mugging....
We went into a nearby pizza place to have lunch and also to have a party(?).
Everyone's expression is bright. It seems like the aftereffects of the killing were swallowed up by the money.
For reference, I changed into the Charm set in the bathroom. I don't know if it suits me well, but seeing Sora-nuna's 'Ohhh~~' reaction, it doesn't seem too bad.
"Hya... how much is this... even considering taxes... ha-eung~."
"...Please don't make weird noises."
Sora-nuna counting the cash harvested(?) next to me. Her eyes look like they've gone crazy for money.
"S-shall we... just go around mugging people?"
"No."
Yuna-ssi cut off the words that popped out, drawn by a momentary temptation, in one stroke.
"...It's a joke. Don't look at me like that."
"Well, it's true that the temptation is strong."
Yuna-ssi, who smiled bitterly, also fiddled with her thick wallet.
"Everyone is probably equipping good gear to survive, so you can get high-quality equipment, and you can also get cash. Accessories too. If you hunted hard, you can get byproducts as well. If you only look at the profit, mugging is definitely several times more profitable. But... that's not human."
"Ugh... I know, I know. I said it was a joke...."
Sora-nuna pouting.
Yuna-ssi smiled slightly.
"May I take your order~."
