Pastor’s Wife Hwang Yu-hui and Lunch Date with Stepmom 1
Han Pan was in a bind.
Back in the military, he had trained alongside others and pieced together his own workout methods through all kinds of exercises. Teaching someone else, though, was an entirely different matter. Instructing a complete stranger whose thoughts he could not begin to read felt both burdensome and uncomfortable.
When Han Pan’s face twisted with hesitation and he avoided giving a straight answer, Mi-ho looked equally awkward. The pastor’s wife simply watched him with a calm expression, offering no particular reaction.
As the air grew stiff, Mi-ho leaned in and whispered against his ear.
“Do your mom a favor and save face for me at church…”
At those words Han Pan bowed his head and thought it over for a moment. That was when he caught a glimpse of the pastor’s wife’s foot beneath the table—and found it remarkably sexy. Sensing his gaze, she crossed her legs right then, and he wondered if she might turn out to be an unexpectedly interesting woman.
Han Pan decided to test her intentions. He casually knocked the ballpoint pen lying on the table so that it tumbled to the floor with a clatter, then quickly ducked under the table to retrieve it. Looking up, he saw the legs of both Hwang Yu-hui and Mi-ho—smooth, sleek, and truly beautiful. At that exact moment, as if on cue, Hwang Yu-hui switched the direction of her crossed legs.
The subtle invitation struck Han Pan’s mind like instinct. Having read her perfectly, he straightened up, set the pen back in place, and spoke.
“Ah… all right. My skills may be lacking, but I’ll give it my best shot… Still, there are plenty of professionals out there. Why specifically me…?”
She smiled as she answered.
“Hoho, nothing special—I just have pretty good instincts. Somehow I feel you’ll teach me well, so I’m asking. I’ll trust that gut feeling of mine.”
The pastor’s wife opened her handbag and held out her business card. Han Pan accepted it respectfully with both hands. Printed on it were the words: Hwang Yu-hui, CEO of Seongmul Bio.
He wondered what connection a church might have with a biotech company, but kept the thought to himself and carefully tucked the card away.
“Then contact me whenever you have time.”
“Ah, yes. Understood.”
Apparently finished with everything she needed to say, she rose from her seat, offered a light smile, greeted both Han Pan and Mi-ho, and disappeared to one side.
Han Pan let out a long sigh and looked at Mi-ho.
“What the hell was that?”
Mi-ho shrugged.
“Well, the pastor’s wife just came over to our table and we got to talking. One thing led to another, your name came up, I bragged a little, and she seemed interested… Then she said she’d like to try some training herself, something like that… Ah… I told her you’d helped me a lot with shaping my body.”
“What? Mom, you didn’t even discuss it with me—and that’s not even true!”
“Ah… well… I might have exaggerated a bit, but so what? If we get on the pastor’s wife’s good side, she’ll introduce us to lots of people and it’ll be great! Quite a few folks from our company have bought cars through her introductions.”
“Huu…”
Han Pan sighed. He felt like he had been completely roped in by his mother.
“So are we heading home now?”
Mi-ho made a troubled face.
“Ah, well, Mom’s going to grab coffee with the people from this gathering just up ahead. Want to come along?”
Han Pan looked displeased.
“There’s more?”
“This is the last one!”
Han Pan checked the time. It was already past noon and nearing one o’clock. He pulled out his phone and messaged Hye-su his location.
“Mom, I’ve got an appointment I need to keep. I should head over there.”
Mi-ho looked surprised.
“Oh, really? How will you get there?”
“I’ll manage just fine on my own, Mother.”
“Ah, okay. Hohoho.”
Mi-ho gave a wry smile, realizing she had been treating her fully grown son like a child.
“All right then. See you at home.”
“Yeah, okay.”
They both came up to the first floor, where they spotted Jo Su-yeon brightly smiling and chatting happily with a group of people. There was no trace left of the lewd figure who had been having passionate sex with her father-in-law only moments earlier. Now she wore a pure smile as she cheerfully made small talk. What an incredible woman, he thought.
Once outside, Han Pan checked his phone and received her KakaoTalk message saying she would arrive shortly.
“Son, see you later at home then.”
Mi-ho left him with a smiling face and headed out of the church. Han Pan also made his way outside, watching Mi-ho’s retreating back before standing at the main entrance to wait for Hye-su.
After a few minutes he spotted her car approaching from a distance. It was a vehicle he could recognize at a glance even from far away, so he knew it immediately. Han Pan waved toward the car. Moments later it stopped right in front of him. He opened the door and climbed in.
A fragrant scent welcomed him. The subtle floral perfume felt wonderful.
“Hi, Mom… Your perfume smells amazing.”
Hye-su greeted him with a bright smile.
“Mm, my son’s here? Does the perfume smell nice?”
Han Pan buckled his seatbelt and nodded.
“It suits you perfectly.”
“Hoho, thank you.”
The car pulled away. Han Pan snuck a glance at Hye-su—she felt completely different from yesterday. Aware of his gaze, she pushed the light blue-tinted sunglasses she had been wearing up onto her head. Her intelligent face came into full view. Yet she looked quite different from the refined, elegant image she usually projected. The makeup especially changed the entire atmosphere.
Whether she was wearing circle lenses or not, her dark pupils looked larger, and the light makeup from yesterday had transformed into something bright and radiant. The overall effect made her appear younger. Her lips gleamed a romantic pink, and the eyeliner and eyeshadow around them followed the same pink tones. Her black hair, falling to her shoulders, was neatly gathered into a ponytail. Along the elegant line of her exposed neck, large gold hoop earrings sparkled on her ears.
On top she wore a white turtleneck so thin that the lace of her white bra showed clearly through. Her breasts were smaller than Mi-ho’s, yet still full enough that anyone would call her glamorous—perfectly proportioned, not excessive. Below she wore light-blue skinny jeans that looked as if her body had been stuffed into them, hugging every curve tightly.
The overall vibe was seductive like a high-class hostess, yet without any cheap streetwalker feel—more the refined allure you would only find at the finest top-tier hostess clubs.
Han Pan kept stealing glances at the woman who had completely transformed from yesterday’s intellectual self. Sensing from his eyes that he liked her style, Hye-su felt a strangely pleasant lift in her mood.
A broad smile filled Han Pan’s face as he spoke.
“Wow! Mom, you look incredible today. I had no idea this was your style.”
“Oh my, really? What kind of style did you think I had? When I was younger I used to go out showing off my figure a lot, but that was ages ago, so it’s been forever since I dressed like this—the clothes feel a bit tight… I hope I don’t look fat…”
Han Pan shook his head firmly from side to side.
“Absolutely not! The style looks fantastic! Even without seeing everything, the fit must be amazing!!”
“Oh my, you like this kind of look?”
“Of course. I love tight clothes like this that hug the body.”
“Oh really? I never expected Han Pan would like this style too… I even brought sunglasses in case I ran into someone I know while going out without thinking about my age. Hoho.”
She seemed to be in a good mood.
“But has Dad ever seen you go out like this? I don’t think he’d like it much… Ah… what’s Dad doing?”
“He’s got a schedule again today—off attending some group event. The man is busy 365 days a year; he never stays home for even a moment… He left early this morning, so he has no idea I came out like this… But is he really that conservative?”
“Definitely. He used to argue with my sisters all the time over their clothes.”
“Haha, I see… Being conservative, he seems pretty sensitive about this sort of thing… But you’re the opposite, huh?”
“Of course. If you’ve got a good body, you should show it off and be proud of it. Why hide it all away? It’s not the Joseon Dynasty. Haha.”
“Oh my, is that so? I didn’t know that side of you… Since Han Pan likes it, I should dress like this more often, right?”
“Yeah. But what about lunch?”
“You haven’t eaten either, right? Shall we grab a meal first?”
“Sure.”
“Anything you particularly like?”
“I already told you—I eat pretty much anything.”
“Haha, right… Hmm… There’s a restaurant I’ve been wanting to try, and it’s not that far from here… Want to go?”
“Sounds good… Oh, and I already booked movie tickets… for the film we talked about over dinner yesterday.”
“Oh, really? What time?”
“Around five, so we’ve got plenty of time.”
“Great. Then let’s eat first.”
