Chapter Title: Prologue
-----------------------------------------------------------------
It was a warm day.
The Beggar Elder took his usual spot by the restaurant wall, just like always.
This was his favorite seat.
The reason was simple.
It was the perfect spot to enjoy the sunlight that artfully avoided the shade.
"Whoa."
Today was no different.
As the sun climbed to midday, his head stayed in the shade while his legs basked in the warmth.
Brushing back his scruffy beard, the Beggar Elder looked up at the sky.
Amid the clear blue expanse, a hawk soared leisurely.
"Fine weather indeed."
Everything was to his satisfaction.
All except for one thing.
The empty bowl in front of him.
'Should I find a new spot?'
He was pondering this when...
Clink.
A heavy sound rang out, and the bowl rattled.
Looking down, he saw a gleaming lump of gold inside.
"Beggar Elder of the Beggars' Sect. That you?"
Raising his head, he saw a figure standing against the backlight.
He didn't look a day over twenty.
Yet the aura emanating from him was weighty, far beyond his years.
The Beggar Elder replied.
"Looks like you've got the wrong guy..."
"I've found the right one."
The Beggar Elder smacked his lips.
"Judging by your state, shouldn't you be seeing a doctor instead of a beggar?"
"I'm fine. It's not my blood."
The blood-soaked man said.
It wouldn't be easy to shake him off. Curiosity piqued as he thought this.
"What's the reason for seeking me out?"
"I have a request."
"Go to the black market if you're looking for an assassin."
"If I wanted someone dead, I wouldn't need to hire out. Doing it myself is fastest and surest."
This guy meant it.
The Beggar Elder grew troubled.
'What now... He doesn't seem like the type to back off easily.'
Should he unleash his palm technique and bolt?
'Doesn't sit right.'
His instincts were warning him.
Don't mess with this one.
Even the Beggars' Sect's signature Dragon Subduing Eighteen Palms wouldn't hold his feet for a moment.
In the end, the Beggar Elder decided to at least hear him out.
"What kind of request?"
"I want a new identity."
"For a fake identity, you don't need the Beggars' Sect. Plenty of others could do it."
"A normal one won't cut it. It has to get me hired as an instructor at the Murim Alliance's Divine Martial Academy."
"You're telling me, an elder of the Beggars' Sect, to betray the Murim Alliance?"
"Not betray. Recommend me."
"You've got some nerve."
"There's more."
The man continued.
"Background can't be too flashy. But ideally from a real sect."
"A mid-tier righteous sect would be good. Pure righteous are too stuffy, and I can't stand demonic."
"Martial prowess around first-rate. Not standout, but not to be looked down on."
"Most importantly..."
A chill ran through the Beggar Elder, who swallowed hard.
"Age exactly twenty-five."
"......"
"No exceptions. Absolutely. Must be twenty-five."
"Why's that?"
"The girl I want to seduce is twenty."
"What kind of reason is that?"
"She likes older men. Won't even glance at one or two years older! Twenty-four's already pushing it!"
The suspicious man wailed suspiciously.
"You're a demanding one."
"My goal is to hear her call me 'oppa.' I'd sooner bite my tongue than be called 'little brother' again."
A sudden doubt struck the Beggar Elder.
"One thing I'm curious about."
"Shoot."
"You seem close to her already, so why go through all this to fabricate an identity just to meet?"
The man smirked.
"She doesn't know who I am right now."
"Didn't you just say you two were close?"
Clink. Clink.
With bloodshot eyes, the man dumped more gold chunks furiously.
"Doesn't matter. Twenty-five. Murim instructor. That's the identity I want."
Watching the man dump gold and vanish, the Beggar Elder startled and shouted.
"Hey! Hey! You can't just leave like that!"
"What's the problem?"
"What's your name? How can I make an identity without a name?"
The man turned back and said.
"Chu Un-hwi."
And added.
"A marriageable age warrior."
