Manager App - Chapter 132: Summer Sea
Yu Seoyeon was already waiting in front of my place. I hurried down the stairs and apologized to her. She pouted her lips and asked, "Just with words?" I quickly leaned in for a kiss, and her expression melted away smoothly.
"Get in quick. You must be hungry."
I hopped into her car right away.
"...Anything you wanna eat?"
She asked as she started the engine.
"Anything's fine as long as you're buying, sis."
"Should I cook for you, then?"
Her words sounded like "Stay over at my place tonight," but I didn't hesitate for a second.
"Sounds good to me."
She burst into a pleased laugh and drove straight to the department store. She must've planned to shop there. Sure enough, she handed me a 100-won coin and said, "Go grab a cart."
"Got it."
I had no idea how much she'd buy, but I followed without complaint.
"Wanna grill some meat at the villa tomorrow?"
She asked as she pushed the cart toward me.
I thought for a moment before replying, "Won't that mean a lot of luggage?"
"Why?"
"We'd need to bring a burner and all."
She giggled and stepped onto the escalator with me. "Everything's already set up there. We just need to bring the meat."
"Oh yeah? Then no problem."
"Anything else we need?"
Her eyes sparkled as she looked up at me, clearly excited about the beach trip tomorrow. I pondered for a bit.
"Water?"
"All there."
"Pots and stuff?"
"Yep, everything."
It sounded like they had it all. We chatted about this and that until we reached the grocery aisle. Then, suddenly, an auntie grilling seasoned meat at the sample station called out to us.
"Hey, young bride! Come try this! It's so good!"
"Huh?"
"Hurry over, bride! Bring your hubby too!"
Seoyeon's face bloomed into a huge smile at the auntie's beckoning.
"Yuhyun, hear that? She called me the bride."
Giggling, she trotted over, snatched a sample, and popped it in her mouth. "Auntie, we'll take two packs."
"Your man's got a great appetite—grab one more!"
"Sh-should we?"
Her mouth curved up to her ears at "hubby." The auntie egged her on like it was her big chance, and before we knew it, Seoyeon bought four servings of seasoned meat we hadn't planned on.
"Isn't that too much?" I asked cautiously.
She laughed brightly. "It's fine. We'll grill it tomorrow."
I doubted we'd ever eat it all, but I kept quiet.
"...Doing this, don't we look like newlyweds?"
She asked suddenly, her cheeks flushing pink.
Without thinking, I replied, "Probably, yeah."
"Really?"
Her voice turned a bit dreamy as she hooked her arm through mine. She dragged me around the store in the cart, picking up all sorts of things—mostly ingredients, but plenty of snacks and drinks too. We got just six cans of beer.
"This enough?"
"More than enough."
It felt like we'd overbought, but seeing her grin like a kid, I couldn't suggest returns.
After checkout, I boxed up the stuff—two full boxes, so she had to carry one too.
"Should we just get delivery?"
"We're taking it tomorrow anyway. And this is nothing."
She patted her arm confidently. It was cute and impressive, so when no one was looking, I sneaked a kiss on her lips.
"Are you crazy? What if someone sees?!"
She thumped my chest in surprise, but she didn't seem mad. If anything, she was turned on—her ears turned bright red as she openly caressed my chest.
Shaking off the little mishap, we loaded the car and headed back to her apartment. Ten minutes later, we arrived and carried the boxes inside together.
"Fridge first."
"Right."
I hustled to stash the groceries. Once done, she rolled up her sleeves. "I'll whip up dinner quick."
"Need any help?"
"Gonna make me rely on you again?"
"Of course I should help."
She beamed and asked me to peel potatoes. I grabbed the fresh ones and got to work. Beside me, she sliced bacon into 1cm strips and crushed peppercorns with the knife's side.
"Spaghetti?"
"Yep."
She finely chopped parsley, wrapped it in cheesecloth, rinsed it under water, and patted it dry on a towel. She's pro at this, I thought. I'd known she cooked well, but not this well.
While I admired her silently, she mixed egg yolks, milk, and cream, whisking until the yolk color vanished into a white sauce.
"Fry the bacon."
"Oh, sure."
She handed me the pan. I opened the drawer for oil.
"...What're you doing?"
"Where's the cooking oil?"
"No need for bacon."
"Oh?"
"Just crisp it up and drain on a towel. I'll handle the rest."
She sounded like a pro, so I obeyed. This is gonna be amazing, I thought, swallowing hard as I watched her boil the spaghetti. When it was done, she drained and shook off the water. She poured the white sauce into the pan, simmered it briefly, added the pasta, and cooked until thickened.
"Bacon."
"Here."
I handed it over quick. She tossed in cheese powder, bacon, potatoes, butter, parsley powder, tasting and seasoning with salt and pepper.
"Hungry? Let's eat."
She plated it neatly and said to me. I nodded eagerly and sat.
"Thanks for the food."
I took a bite—and damn, it was better than any restaurant. I let out an awed gasp.
"...Whoa, this is incredible."
"Yeah? Glad you like it."
"You learned alone?"
"Nah, from my sister."
"You two close?"
She twirled pasta on her fork. "Yeah, but we don't meet often."
"Why not?"
"Busy lives. And she's married now."
Her voice sounded almost childish, like a kid upset about sharing her toy. To shift the mood, I brought up something I'd been mulling.
"Hey, sis—can I tell the girls we're dating?"
"Girls? Who?"
"Eunha and Ye-eun."
She smirked. "Go ahead. Why hide it?"
"True."
"Worrying over nothing. How's a guy with such a tiny spine gonna make it?"
I wanted to protest, 'Whose fault is it my spine's this small?' but held back. No need to stir drama. As I shoveled spaghetti, I asked, "So, where we headed tomorrow?"
"Our villa."
"No, the spot."
"Why?"
"Just curious. Gotta know."
She gave me a brief puzzled look, then shrugged it off. "Around Gyeongpo."
"That's pretty far."
"Don't like it?"
Her voice held a hint of anxiety. I hurried to reassure her. "Nah, love it. But you're driving—won't it be tough?"
"Tough? Nah."
"Gotta work Monday."
"It's fine."
She waved it off with a bright smile, finished her spaghetti, and we chatted more—mostly about the beach. Her excitement was palpable just from her voice.
"Y'know, this is my first trip alone with a guy. Kinda thrilling, honestly. You?"
I paused. Truth was, I'd gone a few times with an ex. But saying that? I'd be nagged forever. I swallowed and lied benevolently. "First for me too. Feels extra exciting."
"Phew, good. Thought it was just me... hehe."
She sighed in relief, grinning wide. Done eating, she rubbed my knee with her foot. "...Shower together?"
Her bold invite made my throat bob. I scarfed the rest and nodded. She beamed like a kid and jumped up. I followed her to the bathroom.
We washed each other, and soon enough, things ignited into fiery sex. Afterward, she cleaned me more tenderly, looking refreshed.
"Wish we could live like this every day."
"Yeah."
We chuckled, finished up, and lounged naked on the sofa. No big deal—just us.
She snuggled close. "Let's just live together."
"Lemme think on it."
"Why? What's the issue?"
"Commute, chores—laundry, cleaning. Needs consideration."
"Like what?"
"Those things require give-and-take."
"I'll do it all."
"I'd feel bad."
"No need."
She pouted, resting her head on my shoulder. Her damp hair tickled my skin. Smiling at the pleasant sensation, I hugged her slim waist tight. "Living together needs caution. What if we break up?"
"Already planning to dump me?"
Her eyes flashed sharp.
"You might dump me."
"Why?"
"You'd be the one losing out."
She laughed merrily, stroking my chest. "Then make it so I won't lose."
Her sweet whisper had me gripping her breasts. "Not enough?"
"Nope."
I flipped her onto the sofa.
