Discovering the Manager App
“Ugh……”
My head was pounding like crazy, probably from all the booze I downed last night. It felt like someone was banging away on a gong right inside my skull.
If I'd known it'd be this bad, I would've paced myself…… But no, I'd gone way overboard trying to console my buddy after his girlfriend dumped him.
I let out a light sigh and fumbled for the water bottle on the table. Twisting off the cap, I took a swig, and the queasy throbbing in my head eased up a bit.
“Haa.”
Exhaling the hot, bubbling breath that had been stewing in my gut all night, my vision finally cleared.
“……I wonder if Yoon Seok made it home okay?”
A flicker of worry hit me. I was barely functional, and he'd drunk way more than me. The guy's weak with alcohol to begin with…… What if he'd run into some shady types and gotten nabbed?
The thought crossed my mind, but I shook it off quick. Worrying about another dude? What a joke. Unless it's a girl, who gives a shit?
My own nose is barely above water.
Still, just in case, I shot Yoon Seok a text. Less than a minute later, he replied: “I'm dying lol.”
Good, he'd made it home safe.
“Whew.”
With another sigh, I checked the time.
“……Slept like a rock, huh.”
It was 5 PM. Not AM—PM. I'd been out cold, dead to the world.
Thank god it's vacation. If this were during the semester, it'd be a disaster.
Breathing a sigh of relief, I flopped back down and scrolled for any new messages. Nothing personal—just the group chat blowing up.
Me last night…… Chugged all that and didn't even score with a single girl? Depressing as hell.
I sniffled and closed the app. As I went to open something else, a weird new icon caught my eye—one I'd never seen before.
“What's this?”
Did I install it drunk last night? I moved to delete it, but curiosity got the better of me. Might as well check it out since it's there.
“Manager?”
I tapped it open, and “Manage” popped up bold on the screen. Some idol management sim, maybe? Reminded me of Princess Maker from way back— that was fun.
Would you like to synchronize the current situation?
[Yes / No]
“……”
Super sketchy popup. National Intelligence Service spyware or something?
No way……
I chuckled at the ridiculous thought and hit Yes. Nothing to lose—no microtransactions enabled, so no charges.
Synchronizing current situation.
Please wait a moment.
About a minute later:
Your current level is 1.
You can only train women within a 5-meter radius.
Please select a woman to train.
Would you like to view the list?
[Yes / No]
I hit Yes on the list prompt. And holy shit—a name I recognized popped up.
[Lee Eunha]
Age: 22
Occupation: College Student
Even had her photo. No doubt—it was my junior, the one I hung out with sometimes, grabbed meals with.
“This thing's legit.”
No wonder it asked about syncing. I clicked her without hesitation. Not like I had beef with her, and better her than some total stranger.
Eunha as an idol……
What would she say if she knew? She'd flip out, yelling why me of all people. Then, if I apologized, she'd grin and demand a meal. Classic Eunha—straightforward, no bullshit. Not great girlfriend material, but top-tier girl friend.
Confirm selection of Lee Eunha?
[Yes / No]
Yes again on the confirmation.
Proceed directly to the Training Room?
Caution: You cannot return until training is complete.
[Yes / No]
This was getting serious. I chuckled and hit Yes.
Teleporting.
Please wait a moment.
Everything went black. Then, moments later, my surroundings flipped completely.
From my room…… to
“Wh-what the……”
this place packed with every tool imaginable. Decadent, depraved—like a seedy dungeon.
Chills ran down my spine. This wasn't a joke. That app…… had actually transported me somewhere.
Am I still drunk?
I pinched my thigh. The sharp pain was vividly real.
