Prologue
One day, I was dragged into a novel.
A run-of-the-mill story about a despised protagonist who stumbled upon a miracle cure and went on to protect the peace of the martial world.
I had ended up inside that novel.
As the failure of a protagonist who didn’t have a shred of talent to his name.
Fuck...
Even now, just thinking about it made my blood boil.
Human nature didn’t change so easily.
That was right.
To put it bluntly...
Once a traitor, always a traitor.
I walked forward at an unhurried pace.
"What is it? Why is everyone gathered here?"
At the sight of my smiling face, relief spread across their expressions.
Did they think there was still a chance?
"Well... we wanted to congratulate you. You were really amazing."
"I have something I want to say..."
"I... well, I..."
"Could you spare us a moment? I have something I need to tell you alone..."
They had come looking for me under the pretense of congratulating me.
But none of them could meet my eyes; they only looked down at the ground.
Strength really was...
something strange.
When I’d begged them to listen to me before, not a single one of them had.
Now the situation had been reversed.
Because of that, I’d been dragged into a place like this again....
I already knew what I was going to say.
"Get lost."
