Chapter 49 The Fusion of Dark magic
Chapter 49 The Fusion of Dark magic
A loud bang erupted.
Mi You was blasted backward by the powerful energy I released. She folded her wings and landed thirty meters away from me.
Because of the strain I had exerted earlier, the wound on my right shoulder suddenly throbbed violently. It felt as though something alive was desperately trying to burrow into my body.
I compressed my Mad God Chi into a dense sphere and forced it toward the wound, barely managing to resist the invading energy.
That strange energy not only attacked on its own but also carried a scorching heat.
I noticed that my right shoulder had already begun to swell slowly. It felt as though it were being set ablaze, making it extremely difficult for me to focus my attention on expelling the invading force.
While I resisted with all my strength, beads of sweat began forming on my forehead.
A single word surfaced in my mind.
Poison.
“Stop wasting your energy,” Mi You said leisurely. “That is the most tyrannical Ghost Blue Phantom Needle.”
“It took my father great effort to obtain it, and he gave it to me for protection.”
“Unexpectedly, it turned out to be quite useful.”
“This kind of Ghost Blue Phantom Needle can pierce any barrier—even chi barriers—and it carries extremely powerful poison.”
“How does it feel?”
“Comfortable?”
She burst into laughter.
To me, the sound was anything but pleasant. In my eyes, she looked like a demon incarnate.
Damn it… I was careless.
And now I’ve fallen into her trap.
At that moment, a gentle current of energy suddenly emerged from my right chest.
The sensation was cool and refreshing as it slowly flowed toward my injured shoulder.
This refreshing energy quickly slowed the spread of the blazing poison, easing the pressure on me for a brief moment.
Mi You made no move to finish me off.
It was obvious she was waiting for the poison to take full effect.
Watching me leisurely, she slowly walked toward me step by step, clearly intending to apply psychological pressure.
But that was exactly what I wanted.
I stared back at her steadily while doing everything I could to force the Ghost Blue Phantom Needles out of my body.
Mi You smiled faintly.
“So, my great expert… how does it feel?”
“I bet you can’t hold on much longer.”
“I never imagined someone with only one-third Demon Race blood could cultivate the Demonic Arts to such a level.”
“That’s quite impressive.”
“But what a pity…”
“You’ll be buried here today.”
She pinched the tip of her slender sword with her left hand, watching my pained expression with great interest.
The refreshing current within my body had completely suppressed the poison.
Although it could not eliminate the toxin, it had freed me from the paralysis long enough to expel the needles.
But forcing out the foreign objects required total concentration. I dared not move in the slightest.
All I could do was hope Mi You would not attack too soon.
Mi You walked up to me.
She pulled the white handkerchief from my tightly clenched hand and gently wiped the tears on my face.
Her eyes showed a strange intoxication.
“You really are a cool guy,” she said softly.
“But you’ll never see your little sister Zi Yan again.”
“So tell me…”
“How does it feel to be poisoned and filled with despair?”
She laughed.
I ignored her completely.
I was circulating my dark magic with every ounce of concentration I had.
None of her words reached my ears.
Mi You used the tip of her sword to draw a thin line across my chest.
Blood trickled out.
She dipped her finger into the blood and slowly placed it in her mouth.
Her eyes suddenly turned fierce.
“Since the day I was born,” she said coldly, “everyone has praised and spoiled me.”
“Even my father—the great ruler of the Demon Race—adores me like no one else.”
“But you…”
“You miserable half-breed, neither human nor beast…”
“You dared treat me with disrespect.”
“You are handsome. You’re exactly my type.”
“But I will still destroy you.”
“And as for Zi Yan’s whereabouts…”
“I will never tell you.”
“So you can remain ignorant forever and regret it for the rest of your life.”
After saying this, she raised the slender sword in her hand.
Slowly.
Very slowly.
She pushed the blade toward my heart.
The sword came closer with every passing second.
“AAAAH!”
I roared.
Three streaks of blue light burst from my right shoulder.
At the final moment, I had finally forced the Ghost Blue Phantom Needles out of my body.
Mi You’s expression changed instantly.
Just before the sword could pierce my heart, a violent surge of energy erupted from my body.
The raging dark magic blasted her away.
Her body flew backward, dark magic rampaging wildly within her as blood spilled from her mouth.
My black hair hung in disarray as I stood there, breathing heavily.
Expelling the poisoned needles had consumed an enormous amount of energy.
Mi You struggled to stand, barely supporting herself with her slender sword.
She stared at me in shock.
“H-how is that possible?”
“How did you expel the Ghost Blue Phantom Needle?”
“Even my father fears its lethality…”
“You…”
I suddenly rushed forward.
Black Sable flashed through the air.
With one strike I knocked her sword aside.
With the next movement, I sealed her meridians using dark magic.
Mi You collapsed to the ground, unable to move.
Her eyes filled with fear as she looked at me.
I sat down nearby, breathing heavily, and sneered.
“So even a woman more vicious than a snake can feel fear.”
Mi You retorted stubbornly, “Who said I’m afraid? Why would I fear a half-breed like you?”
Fury flashed in my eyes.
I grabbed her by the throat.
“Never let me hear those two words from your mouth again,” I said coldly.
“Otherwise I cannot guarantee your head will remain attached to your body.”
Mi You snorted hoarsely.
“Kill me if you want.”
“But you’ll never see your Zi Yan again.”
I released her throat and flung her aside.
Then I reached into the inner lining of my chest garment.
What I pulled out were two orange, gelatin-like gemstones.
Ah… so it was these.
High-grade Orpiment.
These gems had saved me during critical moments before.
Mi You stared at them in shock.
“W-what are those?”
I ignored her question.
With my left hand, I tore open the clothing covering my right shoulder.
Three small purplish-black holes were visible, emitting a foul smell.
I placed one piece of Orpiment over the wound.
If it could help me expel poison earlier, perhaps it could absorb it as well.
As I channeled Mad God Chi into the gem, a cluster of yellow light appeared in my hand.
Soon a cool current flowed through my shoulder.
I could feel the poison gradually being drawn out of my body.
The pain in my shoulder eased noticeably.
Mi You stared at the scene bitterly.
“So you were expelling the poison earlier—not paralyzed by fear.”
“I was careless.”
“If I had known, I would have killed you immediately.”
Finally, the poison was completely expelled.
I tore off my outer garment, revealing both of my arms.
Then I condensed a small water sphere, soaked the cloth, and wiped my body clean.
Looking again at the Orpiment in my hand, gratitude filled my heart.
Carefully, I returned the gemstones to their place.
Only then did I realize how exhausted my body felt.
I slowly stood up and walked toward Mi You.
Grabbing her by the hair, I pulled her face close to mine.
“Tell me,” I said coldly. “Where is Zi Yan?”
“Or I will tear off your wings.”
My patience with this princess—who had nearly killed me—was completely gone.
Mi You met my gaze without fear.
“Are you threatening me?”
“What do you dare do to me?”
“If you have the courage, kill me.”
“My father—the Emperor—will avenge me.”
“And you and your Beastmen will never see peace again.”
“My father will wipe out every last one of you until the Beastmen are extinct.”
Her words nearly made me spit blood.
She was right.
I had no idea how to deal with her.
If I killed her, the Demon Race would surely blame the Beastmen.
What would happen then?
Besides…
I still had a soft spot for women.
Even if I killed her, it didn’t guarantee I would learn Zi Yan’s whereabouts.
I knew Mi You well enough by now.
She would never speak.
Suddenly, a wicked idea flashed through my mind.
A faint smile appeared at the corner of my lips.
Pinching her soft cheeks, I asked slowly, “Are you really not going to tell me?”
Seeing my smile, Mi You’s heart inexplicably tightened.
But she remained stubborn.
“I won’t tell.”
I suddenly grabbed the leather armor covering her upper body.
My right arm pressed against her collarbone as I lowered my head until our faces were inches apart.
“I’ll ask you one last time,” I whispered.
“Are you still not going to tell me?”
Mi You looked slightly flustered.
The strong masculine aura surrounding me filled her senses, making her feel dizzy.
“W-what are you trying to do?”
I smiled darkly.
“What do you think a man can do to a woman?”
“You sent people to kill many of my brothers.”
“You kidnapped Zi Yan.”
“I admit… I don’t know how else to deal with you.”
“I cannot kill you.”
“I cannot truly harm you.”
“But there is something precious to you that I can destroy.”
“It’s not too late to tell me where Zi Yan is.”
As I spoke, I wrapped my left arm around her slender waist, feeling the elasticity of her body.
Her face flushed red like a ripe apple.
Fear appeared in Mi You’s eyes.
She bit her lip.
“Fine… I’ll tell you.”
“But release me first.”
Seeing my plan working, I felt a trace of pride.
There was no woman who didn’t care about her purity.
I pulled her up and pressed her against a tree.
“Speak.”
“Release me.”
I spread my hands.
“I didn’t tie you up.”
“What are you talking about?”
Mi You glared at me with hatred.
“Release the restrictions on me!”
I pressed my palm against her shoulder and lifted the seals on her meridians.
Watching her carefully, I warned, “You’d better not try any tricks.”
Mi You stretched her stiff body and glared at me angrily.
“You despicable rascal!”
“How dare you treat a girl like that?”
“You’re a scoundrel.”
I snorted.
“To achieve my goal, I will use any method necessary.”
“Yes, I’m a scoundrel.”
“So what?”
“Now tell me where Zi Yan is.”
Mi You sighed.
“I admit defeat.”
“I never expected the Phantom Needles to fail against you.”
“You must promise not to harm me after I tell you where she is.”
She looked distressed, as if she had been deeply wronged.
My heart softened slightly.
“I promise.”
“As long as you tell me where Zi Yan is, I won’t touch a single hair on your head.”
Mi You pouted pitifully.
“Zi Yan… she is in…”
Her voice suddenly became extremely soft.
I had to lean closer to hear her.
“What? Speak clearly!”
Because I was anxious about Zi Yan, my guard dropped.
Mi You leaned close to my ear and whispered softly.
“Zi Yan… she’s in…”
“Go to hell!”
I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen, and the next instant a powerful force sent me flying.
It felt as if my intestines had twisted together. The intense pain drained the color from my face.
What a vicious woman.
I quickly circulated my Mad God Chi to regulate my breathing. After a moment, the pain eased slightly.
Naturally, Mi You had no intention of letting me escape so easily. She grabbed her slender sword and rushed straight toward me. Because of her injuries, however, her speed was slower than before.
I covered my stomach with one hand while using Black Sable in the other to block her attacks.
The severe pain in my abdomen prevented me from using the Mad God Fist. With no other choice, I invoked a dark magic spell.
“Oh most wondrous God of Darkness, grant this world your infinite power. Transform the endless magic into shackles that bind the enemy before me—Dark Binding.”
As I chanted, thick black mist gradually flowed from my body, forming a circular field around Mi You.
Mi You, who had been attacking relentlessly, suddenly felt her movements slowing. Each swing of her sword required tremendous effort.
At last I seized the opportunity.
With a sharp strike of Black Sable, I knocked her slender sword flying.
I kicked her without hesitation and pinned her body to the ground.
I no longer felt the slightest pity toward this vicious woman.
Under the influence of Dark Binding, Mi You’s movements grew increasingly sluggish. She could only twist beneath me in futile struggle.
Hatred surged from the depths of my heart, flooding my mind.
I tore away several pieces of her leather armor, revealing the pale undergarments beneath.
Then I suddenly kissed her.
Mi You’s eyes widened in shock as her pupils gradually lost focus.
A faint orchid fragrance drifted from her lips, further clouding my already confused mind.
Although Mi You struggled desperately, she discovered that she had no strength left to resist.
My kisses fell repeatedly across her face and neck.
The heat within her body continued to rise, causing her movements to soften.
Mi You cried out between sobs.
“Stop… stop…”
“I’ll tell you where Zi Yan is…”
“I didn’t capture her… forgive me… I never captured Zi Yan…”
I lifted my head sharply and grabbed her hair.
“Do you think I would still believe your lies?” I snarled.
“I want you dead to avenge my brothers.”
Amid Mi You’s cries, I tore away the rest of her clothing, revealing her flawless body.
The sight struck my senses violently.
The hatred burning inside me and the overwhelming desire to possess such beauty clashed fiercely within my mind.
Ignoring all consequences, I launched myself toward her in raw instinct.
Although it was my first time, primitive instinct and desire completely controlled my body.
Mi You cried out as our bodies intertwined.
The overwhelming physical stimulation, combined with the satisfaction of revenge, filled me with indescribable excitement.
I held her tightly as we became one.
At that moment, it felt as though the entire world had nothing to do with me.
…
The searing pain made Mi You’s body convulse.
Even though Dark Binding restrained her movements, her hands clawed frantically at my back.
Large tears streamed down her cheeks.
While I continued the assault, she cried pitifully.
Gradually her cries faded, replaced by soft moans.
Within those sounds were pain, despair, and regret.
But there was also…
In the darkness of the night, the primitive rhythm echoed through the silent forest.
The desolate woods seemed to gain a faint warmth.
Finally, after the fierce struggle, both of us trembled violently as we reached climax at the same moment.
For an instant, our minds went completely blank.
As the waves of pleasure slowly receded, I suddenly felt an enormous surge of dark magic erupt within Mi You’s body.
That power quickly flooded into mine.
I tried to push her away, but my body felt completely drained of strength.
The powerful dark magic fused with my own energy and rampaged through my meridians.
Mi You appeared to be in the same condition.
Her face turned pale blue as massive currents of energy surged through both of us.
Suddenly she cried out in pain and lost consciousness.
My own mind cleared slightly.
What is happening…?
The most powerful energy I had ever encountered was coursing through our bodies.
Our meridians could not withstand the pressure.
Tiny droplets of blood began seeping through our skin.
I knew that if this continued, our meridians and blood vessels would rupture, killing us instantly.
Although the terrifying dark magic nearly drove me to death, it also cleared my mind.
Suddenly I remembered the protective ability of the Ink Crystal.
I had no time to think further.
Gritting my teeth, I forced my Mad God Chi to circulate and resist the invading energy.
Using that brief moment, I quickly reached into my clothing and pulled out two Ink Crystals.
I forced one into Mi You’s mouth and the other into my own.
The moment the Ink Crystal dissolved, the dark magic shattered my Mad God Chi and forced my body rigid.
But my effort was not in vain.
A warm current flowed through my meridians, protecting them from the raging energy.
The violent dark magic no longer felt quite as destructive.
Color slowly returned to Mi You’s face as well.
That final action had saved both our lives.
The Ink Crystals reinforced our meridians like steel supports.
Not only did they protect our meridians, they strengthened them.
As the dark magic circulated repeatedly through our bodies, the energy grew stronger and stronger.
With every cycle, it accumulated more power.
My meridians gradually strengthened under the pressure.
Eventually the energy grew beyond what I could endure.
My mind exploded into darkness.
I lost consciousness and collapsed onto Mi You’s body.
…
What happened between Mi You and me would have been impossible for even the creator of the Demonic Arts, Lucifer, to imagine.
Demonic Arts were meant to be cultivated only by men.
After the painful death of his beloved concubines, the Demon Emperor had poured all of his affection into Mi You.
In order to make his daughter powerful, he used every method available—even the power of Ink Crystals—to forcibly open her meridians so she could cultivate the Demonic Arts.
But this act defied the natural order.
Although the Ink Crystals possessed extraordinary power, they could not fully transform Mi You’s meridians.
Even after reaching the fourth layer of Demonic Arts and gaining the body of a Fallen Angel, she could progress no further.
I, however, was different.
I had cultivated Demonic Arts since childhood.
Driven by talent and the grief of my grandmother’s death, I had trained relentlessly for six years.
The dark magic within my body was pure and vigorous.
I had already reached the fifth layer of Demonic Arts.
The union between Mi You and me was unprecedented.
Since the creation of Demonic Arts, no male and female cultivators had ever cultivated it together and then united physically.
Both of us also possessed the power to transform into Fallen Angels.
Although Mi You’s meridians had been forcibly altered, she was still a woman—naturally aligned with Yin.
As a virgin, her body possessed pure Yin.
Meanwhile, my cultivation of Mad God Chi had forged my body into pure Yang.
…
Early morning arrived.
At the moment when Yang energy was most abundant, any normal man would awaken with overwhelming vitality.
Mi You woke with a sharp pain in her body.
Realizing a heavy weight was pressing on her, she suddenly screamed and shoved forward with both hands.
Her shout woke me.
Still half-conscious, I felt a tremendous force slam into my chest.
My body was hurled away violently.
I crashed through more than ten trees before finally stopping over a hundred meters away.
Mi You crouched on the ground, clutching her lower body.
Seeing the bloodstains on the ground, her face flushed crimson.
The sudden separation had caused her intense pain.
My entire body also ached.
I discovered that both of us had reverted to our normal forms.
We were no longer in our Fallen Angel transformations.
Mi You stared at me blankly.
I realized my awkward situation.
Aside from the vest on my chest, I was completely naked.
…
Although Mi You’s push had been extremely powerful, I realized I had suffered no real injury.
Only soreness remained.
Seeing Mi You’s expression, my mind went blank.
For a moment I could not think.
But I knew one thing clearly.
The hatred I once felt toward her had vanished.
My clothes lay beside Mi You.
Instinctively, I stepped toward her.
Before I could take even one full step, Mi You suddenly cried out in alarm.
“Don’t come any closer!”
I immediately stopped.
But I used too much force and nearly stumbled forward.
I forced a bitter smile.
“My… my clothes are next to you.”
Mi You gasped softly.
Her already flushed face turned even redder.
She grabbed my clothes and threw them toward me.
The light bundle of clothing flew toward me with tremendous force.
Instinctively I raised my hands and circulated my energy.
At that moment I nearly cried out in shock.
My Mad God Chi had reached an extraordinary state.
My dark magic was also many times stronger than before.
The flying clothes seemed to move incredibly slowly before my eyes.
Calmly extending my hand, I caught them.
I had no time to analyze the changes in my power.
Quickly, I dressed myself.
Meanwhile, Mi You stared blankly at her own hands.
I walked over quietly, picked up her leather armor, and handed it to her.
“Here. Put it on.”
Mi You’s body trembled.
The moment she saw me, fury returned to her eyes.
“Get away from me!”
She snatched the clothing from my hands.
……
I turned away and walked a short distance, keeping my back toward her.
My mind was in turmoil.
How could I have done something so cruel?
Why had I done such a thing? How could I face Zi Yan and Zi Xue, who were waiting for me?
Even if Mi You had been at fault, I should never have destroyed her purity.
The most precious thing a girl possessed had been ruthlessly taken by me.
I really am a beast…
In anguish, I tugged at my own hair, unable to think of what to do.
Suddenly I heard footsteps behind me.
Turning around, I saw Mi You staggering away step by step.
“Mi You…” I called out.
She stopped and slowly turned around.
Seeing the remorse on my face, she gritted her teeth.
“I hate you.”
With that, she turned and walked away again, one unsteady step at a time.
I hurried forward and grabbed her hand.
“Mi You, I…”
Mi You turned to look at me, tears filling her eyes. Her lips trembled.
“You! What else do you want?”
“You’ve already destroyed everything I had.”
“I know I’m not your match, but one day I will take revenge.”
“I don’t have your Zi Yan.”
“That handkerchief was something I obtained when I first captured her. I took it from her body.”
“Now let go of me.”
Could it be… she came last night only to take revenge on me?
…
Under her hate-filled gaze, I unconsciously released her hand.
Mi You continued to walk away, staggering.
Seeing her lonely figure disappear into the distance, a sharp pain stabbed through my heart.
We had no affection for each other.
Yet we had just shared the most intimate act possible.
How could I ever face her again?
And how could I face Zi Yan and Zi Xue?
I…
Mi You’s silhouette gradually vanished.
I turned and walked slowly in the opposite direction.
Although I knew my strength had increased greatly, I had no interest in investigating the cause.
All I could think about was returning to last night and destroying the version of myself who had violated Mi You.
I didn’t even know how I managed to return to Stanla City.
When I arrived at the city, the Behemoth soldiers guarding the gate discovered me and immediately reported it to Mink.
Fortunately, I had approached from the quieter side of Stanla City.
If other Beastmen had seen my current miserable state, I didn’t know what they would have thought.
Mink personally opened the city gate to welcome me.
He grabbed my arm and asked worriedly, “Fourth Brother, where did you go? I’ve been searching for you all morning!”
“Why do you look so distressed? Did you encounter an enemy?”
“Or did someone from the Demon Race attack you?”
I shook my head.
“Third Brother… I’m tired.”
“I want to rest.”
Mink frowned with concern.
“Fourth Brother, what happened to you? You look completely drained.”
I sighed.
“Third Brother, please stop asking.”
“I don’t want to talk.”
“I just want to rest.”
“There’s a treaty signing with the Demon Race at noon.”
Mink nodded.
“Alright. I’ll call you when it’s time to sign the treaty.”
…
Meanwhile, Mi You returned to the Demon Race’s main camp.
She quietly entered her tent and changed into clean clothes.
Her heart was filled with complicated emotions.
Even she could not explain what she was feeling.
The image of Lei Xiang seemed to have engraved itself into her heart, becoming increasingly difficult to erase.
From the moment she first met him to everything that had happened the previous night, Mi You still could not understand what place Lei Xiang held within her heart.
Leaving her tent, she looked toward the rising sun.
A strange emptiness filled her chest.
“Hey, brat! Where did you run off to?”
“You almost scared us to death.”
Gwynn and Griffin walked toward her.
Mi You glanced at them absentmindedly.
“Hm? Why were you looking for me?”
Griffin looked annoyed.
“Brat, you disappeared last night. My father nearly killed the two of us.”
“He told us to protect you.”
“If you hadn’t come back, the entire Demon Race camp would have been turned upside down searching for you.”
“Come with us quickly to see Father. I don’t want him chewing our heads off.”
Mi You lowered her head and spoke quietly.
“The two Gu brothers… I’m sorry.”
Her apology stunned Griffin and Gwynn.
Both of them exchanged glances.
When did the mischievous Princess Mi You become so polite?
Gwynn cautiously asked, “Little Princess… are you feeling alright?”
Mi You gave a faint smile.
“I’m fine.”
“Aren’t we going to see Uncle Gu?”
“Let’s go.”
They arrived outside an imposing tent.
Seeing that Mi You was safe, Gu Chuan finally let out a long sigh of relief.
“Yu’er, tell Uncle where you went last night.”
“You nearly frightened me to death.”
Mi You bowed her head.
“Forgive me, Uncle.”
“I caused you trouble.”
Gu Chuan reacted the same way as his sons.
He was stunned by Mi You’s polite attitude.
“Yu’er, are you feeling unwell?” he asked with concern.
Mi You raised her head and forced a faint smile.
“I’m not ill, Uncle. Please don’t worry.”
“I just miss Father… the Emperor.”
“I want to return to Modu immediately.”
“May I?”
Gu Chuan blinked in surprise.
The normally mischievous Mi You suddenly missing the Demon Emperor made him wonder if he had misheard.
“Mi You, child… that’s not possible.”
“At noon today we will sign the treaty with the Beastmen.”
“After that we can return to Modu together.”
“If you leave now, how could Uncle rest easy?”
Mi You looked at him, then nodded quietly.
“Alright.”
“I’ll return to my tent and wait for news.”
“I’ll leave now, Uncle.”
“Goodbye, brothers.”
With that, she turned and left the tent.
Gu Chuan and his two sons exchanged puzzled looks.
None of them could explain the sudden change in Mi You’s behavior.
