Invitation Home
Sera led Siwoo to a small eatery nearby.
It sat tucked down an alley in the heart of Gangnam, quiet enough to feel removed from the noise of the main streets.
They took a window table facing each other.
Sera slipped off her cardigan and draped it over the back of her chair. The neckline of her dress settled lower, baring the soft line of her collarbone and the gentle curve that followed beneath it.
While Siwoo looked over the menu, she spoke first.
"Manager, you seem like you've got more breathing room these days. The tension in your face has eased a little."
Siwoo shrugged.
"Just got lucky."
Sera smiled and ordered drinks. When the light beers and side dishes arrived, she lifted her glass toward him.
"Here. To the manager actually making time for me tonight."
Their glasses touched.
She took a sip, then looked at him. The gaze was calmer than the blatant invitation she usually wore inside the convenience store.
"You know… we only ever meet at the shop, so… sometimes I just wanted to sit across from you like this. Properly."
Siwoo drank and asked, "Out of nowhere?"
Sera tilted her head slightly.
"Not out of nowhere. Your face caught me from the start, and our bodies fit… and now I guess I'm just curious about the person behind the counter."
She picked up a piece of food with her chopsticks and added, "With other guys it was always the body first. With you, weirdly, the face sticks around longer."
Siwoo answered by taking another swallow of beer. Liria's soft "I like you" and Seraphin's frank stare flickered through his mind. And now Sera, right in front of him—a woman from this world looking at him without any filter.
They talked lightly through the meal: her work, his life behind the register, the daily grind of surviving in Gangnam. Sera listened with real attention, smiling now and then, topping up his glass when it ran low.
By the time they settled the bill and stepped outside, the night had already grown deep.
Sera walked close beside him and asked, "Manager, walking all the way home tonight? Or… want a ride in my car?"
When he hesitated a beat, she gently looped her arm through his.
"I won't drag you. I just… want a little more time with you."
Siwoo looked at her face. Under the neon her eyes shone, soft and wet. He answered briefly.
"…Let's take the car."
A smile spread across Sera's mouth. She took his hand and guided him toward the parking lot. After opening the passenger door for him, she slid into the driver's seat. Before turning the key she leaned toward him. Perfume and the faint warmth of alcohol mixed in the small space between them.
"Manager… thank you for tonight. Meeting somewhere that isn't the shop makes it feel strangely more exciting."
She brushed a light kiss against his lips—short, but leaving a clear warmth behind. Then she smiled and took the wheel.
"I'll drop you at your place. On the way… holding hands is okay, right?"
When Siwoo nodded, she laced her fingers through his with one hand. Warmth traveled through his palm.
The car eased out into the night streets of Gangnam.
Sera kept one hand on the wheel and the other wrapped around his. At a red light she glanced over.
"Your hand… it's warm. Feels different from when I touch you at the store."
Siwoo watched the neon slide past the window and answered shortly, "You okay to drive after drinking?"
Sera laughed.
"I can hold my liquor just fine. Are you worrying about me?"
She stroked the back of his hand slowly with her thumb. The touch tickled.
"I was really happy you took me up on this tonight. Usually my body moves first… tonight it feels like my heart got there ahead of everything else."
Siwoo studied her profile. The expression she wore while driving was different from the one she brought into the convenience store—softer, more honest.
The car stopped in the alley near his studio. Sera left the engine running and looked at him.
"This is it. Right in front of your place."
A brief silence settled. She unbuckled her seatbelt and leaned toward him. Her breath brushed close.
"Manager… can I come up? I'm not trying to force anything. I just… don't want the day to end here."
Siwoo met her eyes. Liria's affectionate gaze and Seraphin's hungry one passed through his mind, but right now Sera in front of him was the clearest thing. He gave a short nod.
"…Come up."
A smile bloomed across her face. They locked the car and stepped into the old studio building. Up the narrow stairs they reached his door. When he opened it and they went inside, Sera looked around with open curiosity.
It was a small, simple space—bed, desk, a tiny refrigerator. She draped her cardigan over the chair.
"I didn't expect your place to be this modest. Completely different atmosphere from the shop."
Siwoo poured water and handed it to her. She drank, set the cup down, and stepped closer. The distance shrank. Sera took hold of his collar and drew him in slowly.
"Manager… I really wanted to be with you today. Body… and heart."
She covered his mouth with hers. Soft at first, then deep. Tongues tangled; breath quickened. Her hands slid to his waist; his hands found the small of her back. As the kiss lengthened she eased him toward the bed. When they sat on the edge she whispered against his ear.
"Different from the store… tonight I want to take it slow."
She caught the hem of his T-shirt and lifted it off. Then she reached back and lowered the zipper of her own dress. The fabric slipped from her shoulders, revealing black lingerie. Sera took his hands and placed them on her waist.
"Put your hands on me, Manager."
When he closed his grip around her, she drew in a thin breath. They toppled onto the mattress together. Neon light filtered faintly through the curtains of the studio as the real-world night deepened around them.
Siwoo and Sera faced each other on the bed. She rested a hand on his chest and stroked slowly downward, fingertips tracing the lines of muscle. She whispered low.
"Your body… looks even better than it does at the shop."
When he pulled her in by the waist, her body pressed flush against his. Soft breasts met his chest. Sera set her lips to the side of his neck and kissed slowly, tongue tasting skin, teeth grazing lightly. His hands slipped behind her and unhooked the bra. As the black lace loosened she shrugged it off herself. Pale breasts spilled free. When he cupped one, she let out a thin moan.
"Haa… your hands are so warm…"
He rubbed a nipple with his thumb, then took it into his mouth. Her hips trembled. She cradled his head and whispered, "Harder… suck harder…"
He did as she asked, drawing the peak deep and working it with his tongue. His other hand pushed the dress higher and stroked the inside of her thigh. Her skin was already hot. She kicked the dress completely free until only black panties remained. When his fingers brushed over the fabric she parted her legs a little. Damp heat met his touch through the cloth.
Sera undid his belt and zipper. She freed the already hard length and wrapped her hand around it, stroking slowly up and down while bringing her mouth to his ear.
"Yours feels even hotter tonight. I wanted to take this… here, in your place."
She pushed him onto his back and stripped off her own panties. Firm white hips and already-slick pink flesh came into view. She straddled him and rubbed the head against her entrance; wetness smeared across him. Holding his gaze, she lowered her hips inch by inch. Both of them breathed deeper. When she had taken him fully she braced her hands on his chest and let out a thin cry.
"Haaa… it's… all the way in…"
She began to move—up and down, then soft circles. When he gripped her waist and met her rhythm, her breasts swayed. She guided his hands to her chest.
"Manager… I like you. Your body, and the person you are…"
He sat up and claimed her mouth. Kissing her deeply, he thrust upward from below. Her inner walls clenched; a moan slipped between their lips. They held each other and quickened. The bed creaked softly; the wet sound of skin meeting skin filled the small room. Sera raked light nails down his back and shuddered.
"Manager… I'm… going to come…"
He locked her hips and drove deep. Her body convulsed hard around him as she peaked. The tight, rhythmic grip pulled him over with her; heat spilled inside. They clung to each other, breathing raggedly. Sera buried her face against his neck and laughed softly.
"Haa… doing it in your place… feels strangely better."
He stroked her back. She rested her ear against his chest, listening to his heartbeat, and whispered, "I… want more time like this with you. Not only at the shop. Nights like this too."
Instead of answering he pressed a kiss into her hair. In the studio washed by faint neon through the curtains, they stayed wrapped around each other for a long while.
Siwoo and Sera lay tangled for a long time. She kept her face against his chest and laughed quietly.
"Your place… is cozier than I expected. Completely different feeling from the store."
He stroked her back and answered shortly, "Why so serious all of a sudden?"
Sera lifted her head and looked at him. Neon light slipped through the curtains and painted her face in soft color.
"I'm not being serious. It's just… being like this with you makes my heart feel strangely at ease."
She brushed a light kiss against his chin, then sat up and gathered her dress.
"It's gotten late. I should go. You've got to open the shop tomorrow."
Siwoo rose and walked her to the door. In the doorway she turned back with a smile.
"You'll invite me over again, right? Next time I'll bring the drinks."
When he nodded she waved, satisfied, and headed down the stairs. The door closed and the studio fell suddenly quiet. Siwoo lay back on the bed and stared at the ceiling. Liria's silver hair, Seraphin's sharp golden eyes, and the lingering heat of Sera's body all rose at once. Three women, each pulling him in her own way. He let out a low breath and closed his eyes.
The next afternoon Siwoo opened the convenience store as usual. During a quiet stretch he left the warehouse door ajar for a moment. When he felt the familiar tremor he locked the glass entrance and stepped into the back room. Opening the door, he found Liria waiting. Her expression looked a little darker than usual.
She asked carefully, "Siwoo… last night, I can smell someone else on you."
Siwoo frowned. Elves, it seemed, had noses sharper than any dog. Liria stepped closer and lightly touched his collar.
"I… have no intention of stopping you from being with other people. It's just… a little bitter, that's all."
She offered a wry smile and set gold and silver coins on the crate.
"I'll just buy a few things today and go. Soap, salt, and something cold to drink."
Siwoo watched her face in silence for a moment. As she gathered the items and turned toward the door, he caught her wrist.
"Liria."
She looked back. He spoke quietly.
"You're… special."
The tips of her ears flushed pink. She smiled softly at him.
"…If you say things like that, it only makes me want to see you more."
Liria stepped into his arms for a brief embrace, then drew away.
"I'll come again. Next time… I can stay a little longer, can't I?"
Siwoo nodded. When she vanished beyond the door he locked it and unlocked the glass front. He sat behind the counter and exhaled. Reality and the other world, feeling and desire—everything was growing more tangled by the day. Afternoon sunlight from the Gangnam pleasure district spilled through the window glass.
