Like An AV - The Man Who Takes Away Chapter 44: Undercover Agent Nikita Romanova's Tragedy
"Then I'll contact you over the weekend."
"Make sure you do. I'll treat you big time to celebrate Bora's joining the team."
Yoon's eyes were already sparkling with anticipation for the grand weekend feast.
After leaving the construction company, Bora headed back to city hall. This time, she lingered mostly around the mayor's office. Chatting with the mayor's secretaries, she gathered rumors about Yoon A-young, the woman who had recently been promoted to the secretary's office. It was more secretive than ever. Being in a place that included the subject herself made it unavoidable. Rather than asking questions outright, she tracked relationships with a hawk-like gaze—who talked to whom, who avoided whom.
Before long, the workday ended. Most of the civil servants clocked out. Nikita Romanova still hadn't found a single piece of decisive evidence proving Secretary Kim's innocence. Pondering what to do, Bora trailed far behind the departing Yoon A-young. Yoon grabbed a taxi outside city hall and headed somewhere. With no time to hail one herself, Bora slipped into the passenger seat of a car just pulling away.
"Who... oh..."
The startled driver froze at the sight of Bora's alluring figure.
"I'm sorry. Could you follow that taxi? It's extremely important to me, so I had to impose."
She asked politely yet resolutely, with an inexplicable air of pathos.
"Ah! Sure, I guess?"
Ignoring a lady in distress wasn't easy for a gentleman. The car's owner hurriedly caught up to the taxi.
"Is something bad going on? If I can help..."
"It's embarrassing to say... I shouldn't trouble you, but that woman in the taxi might be... with my husband..."
Bora's voice trembled wetly. The man driving couldn't hide his pity and stopped asking questions.
"Thank you. If there's ever a chance, I'll repay you for this kindness..."
The taxi stopped, and the woman got out. Bora expressed her gratitude.
"Don't mention it—hurry and go after her."
The man urged her on as if her pain were his own, without even thinking to give her his number. He'd probably savor this little chase and his gentlemanly demeanor for years to come.
Yoon A-young entered a quiet coffee shop by a rural highway on the city's outskirts. The place seemed outdated compared to modern trends, occupying the first floor of a motel. She ordered coffee at the counter, then sat at a spot partially hidden by a large potted plant outside, pulling out her smartphone to kill time.
Bora followed, slipping on sunglasses. She ordered a drink and took a table with a clear view of Yoon. Yoon had probably chosen that seat to avoid exposure, yet she barely noticed Bora right across from her. The Costume Card <Undercover Agent> was working perfectly once again.
Soon, a man entered the cafe and sat beside her. Bora recalled he was Secretary So from the city hall secretary's office earlier.
"Wait long?"
"Nah, just ten minutes."
They chatted affectionately, like it wasn't their first time.
"So, how'd it go? With that guy?"
"What do you think? He spent the day getting grilled in the audit office. Not much time left for him."
"Did he admit what he did?"
"As if. He denied it to the death, they say. Obviously. Backing down now means he's done for."
"Well, denying it won't save him anyway."
"Exactly."
"We gotta shake him off quick—it'll make things easier for you, right?"
Yoon caressed Secretary So's face with affectionate hands.
"Thanks. For making that tough call."
"Tough? If I suffer a bit, your future opens up. Once Kim's out, you'll take over his work, yeah?"
"Of course. Little Uncle's backing me anyway—no issue."
"See? Even if I take some blame, it's no big deal. And having done this once? Not bad for my rep either."
"True. You're the victim here. It'll boost your standing in the city hall."
"Exactly. Good for you, good for me."
"Still feels bad for you. Would you have gone that far without me?"
The man spoke solemnly.
"Aigoo, so sweet. My man's too good."
The woman hugged him and pecked his cheek. Clearly, she was more into him. It made sense—he was handsome, sleek, tall, the type to sweep women off their feet. He seemed to be the one pulling the strings.
"This place is a bit... even if it's far from city hall, we should be careful."
The man cautioned her.
"Sorry, was I too careless?"
She apologized immediately, agreeing.
"Not careless. I like being with you like this. I'm sorry."
"I'll be more careful next time. Okay?"
She gently took his hand. He glanced around, confirmed no eyes on them, and draped an arm over her shoulder. She leaned her head on him. For a moment, they played the doting lovers. His hand crept up to grope her breast; hers stroked his thigh.
"So, submit that thing to the audit office now."
After their affectionate interlude, the man spoke.
"Really? Time to finish him off for good?"
She perked up.
"Yeah. The idiot denied everything, thinking there's no evidence. If he'd admitted and repented from the start, he might've had a shot."
"That's why I never mentioned it till now."
"You edit the video?"
"I don't know how."
"Gimme. I'll do it. Nah—take tomorrow off. Say the stress got to you. I'll submit it for you."
"Perfect! You're so smart."
She praised him again, nestling against his shoulder.
"Hand it over now. Don't forget later."
She lifted her head, pulled her smartphone from her handbag, and gave it to him. He pocketed it and stood.
"You're just leaving?"
She pouted.
"Hmm..."
He hesitated. The video editing on her phone seemed more pressing.
"Can't just leave, duh. Why'd we meet here? Heh heh."
Grinning slyly, he took her hand and led her. As he pondered, Bora stood and brushed past them.
"Ah! Sorry."
Bora's body bumped lightly into the man's. She stumbled slightly; he caught her, apologizing.
"It's fine. Thanks for catching me."
Bora flashed a seductive smile, eyes lingering in greeting as she passed. The man tracked her to the counter with his gaze.
"What? Why stare at her? That pretty?"
Jealousy hit hard. Yoon snapped instead of swooning.
"Pretty? Just thought I recognized her."
He deflected playfully.
"Yeah right. Why are guys like this?"
She sulked openly.
"You know my heart. Let's go."
He placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. She dropped the pout a bit and walked with him. Bora, back from the counter, watched them go—not out the entrance, but through the motel door. She followed to the connecting door, observing briefly. They checked in at the motel counter, then at the elevator, gazed lovingly and kissed softly.
Bora grabbed her things from the table and left the cafe. Waiting for a taxi by the highway, she fiddled with Yoon's smartphone from her pocket. While Yoon sat alone earlier, Bora had glimpsed her pattern and unlocked it easily. She found the video quick. Confirmed, powered it off fully, pried out the SIM with a pin. No connection now, even elsewhere.
Her phone vibrated.
"Yes, it's me, Nikita. All tasks complete as ordered. Understood. See you there."
I hung up on Bora, tossed the empty coffee can, and headed to the department store. Had to shop before meeting her—time to hustle.
Bora arrived at Hanul Building nearly an hour after our call. Taxi from Hower City's edge to Gangnam was far. En route, she called someone to watch her daughter after kindergarten ended.
Even undercover agents had families. One more thing learned. She was Nikita and Bora.
Meanwhile, I prepped my tasks. So far, just the video's prologue. In adult flicks, the real draw was the actress's naked body. Spy thriller setup? Fifteen minutes tops.
"You've been waiting."
Stiff greeting as Bora—no, Nikita Romanova—approached.
"Welcome. Good work."
I'd hit the elevator open button before she entered; doors parted on arrival.
"Get in first."
"Yes, sir."
The elevator plunged deeper underground.
"Where to?"
Nikita eyed the descent skeptically—far below a normal basement.
"New secret spot. Safety first."
"I see."
She nodded. Ding! Doors opened. She stepped out; I followed, zapping her nape with the stun gun.
Zzzzt!
Something shot from my device, sparking blue on her neck.
"Hup!"
She gasped, collapsing backward. I caught her before she hit the floor.
"Nikita. Nikita."
No response to her code name whispered in her ear. Effective, alright.
I hoisted her limp body over my shoulder. Tall but slim—not heavy. Grabbed her dropped briefcase too, strode the hall, opened the iron door to the prison.
Main course now. Carried her to the torture room, laid her on the matted floor, set aside her briefcase and phone. Checked my watch: under a minute unconscious. Plenty of time.
With glee, I stripped her layer by layer. Suit off, blouse off, skirt off, shoes off, stockings off. Each step a delight.
Hmm. Leave the underwear? More fun than stripping bare immediately.
Lalala...
Undressing this beauty, I hummed unwittingly. Who wouldn't? Caging a stunner to ravage at will. Not the neighbor wife I'd toyed with endlessly—this was a hot undercover agent. New thrill: savor it fully.
