A Two-Year-Old Who Sings Well
I loved singing.
I didn't discriminate against any genre.
J-pop, K-pop, pop songs, hip-hop, and more.
As long as it wasn't a minor genre, I listened to them all.
Of course, I hadn't been a hexagonal listener who enjoyed every genre from the very beginning.
One day, while being bullied and heading home, I heard music spilling out from the street.
'Good.'
I was completely swept away by the charm of music.
From that moment on, it seemed I had listened to every famous song.
Wearing AirPods.
'If only I hadn't brought AirPods to school...'
There was a time when I wore AirPods to school just to listen to music.
'Tsuyoku~ nareru yo o gu shita~'
While humming the song inwardly, my AirPods were snatched away.
"Hey, what are you listening to?"
The girl in my class who took my AirPods from my ears frowned at the sound coming from them.
"Wow. This guy listens to music like it's his own creation."
It stung.
'What's wrong with anime songs.'
Of course, I only rebelled inwardly, and said something else out loud.
"S-sorry..."
The girl in my class, who heard my answer, smiled wickedly.
"Hey. No need to apologize. Sing it once."
"Huh? What?"
"The song you were listening to."
"No, that's a bit..."
"Hey. Is my word a joke?"
As soon as I showed my refusal, the scary face of the scaredy-cat came out, and in the end, I ended up singing an anime song in front of the class.
"It would be fun, right?"
The guy who looked like a parasitic older brother next to the girl in our class said that, and the girl in our class looked at me.
"Hey, start."
"Uh... yeah."
I started singing the anime song in front of everyone.
"Tsuyoku~ nareru."
"Hey, stop."
"Yeah... why?"
"If you just sing, it's boring, so let's dance together."
"I haven't danced before."
"Then today, we'll try dancing for the first time. Why don't you want to?"
"No, I do!"
So, I started singing the anime song with dancing, and a moment later, a disastrous reaction erupted.
"Wow. Damn. This guy can't sing at all."
"No, this guy's tone-deaf?"
Even though the word "tone-deaf" stung, I didn't stop singing. Because no one had told me to stop yet. While dancing and singing the anime song, the teacher entered the classroom.
"Hey! Are you guys making that weird thing to Baek-ho again?"
"Ah, teacher~ We didn't make him do it."
"Then who made him?"
"Just because he said he'd sing, we watched over him. Right, Baek-ho?"
"Uh-huh. Yes. Teacher, I wanted to do it."
"Really? I see."
'Ugh.'
Recalling the past triggered PTSD!
Anyway, going back to the story I had been telling, I loved listening to music and I loved singing it too.
Even though I was tone-deaf.
'Because I was tone-deaf, the desire to sing well kept growing.'
But that was then.
Now it was different.
Because I could use the system's power to improve my singing skill.
'Moreover, this body has a different vocal cord, so I'm not tone-deaf!'
After being reborn as a woman.
As a test, I sang, and the clear voice that came out was so pure that it was unbelievable that I was tone-deaf.
Now it was time to confirm that it wasn't a misconception.
'Add singing skill!'
So, the changed system window was like this.
[Name: Lee Yena (Lee Baek-ho)]
Level: 1
Title: None
Appearance: S
Singing: C
Trait: Infinite Potential
Points: 5
Thanks to clearing several missions over the past year, I had accumulated 5 points.
The disappointing part was that some missions had high difficulty, so I couldn't clear all of them.
Well, I'm still satisfied. 5 points was really a lot.
'D is the level of ordinary people. C would be the level of people who sing well among ordinary people.'
After verifying various things over the past year and classifying all stats, the conclusion was this.
D is ordinary people, C is amateur, B is professional, A is outstanding people among professionals, S is people at the peak of their field, and finally, EX is probably the level of gods from myths.
'Then, let's use it.'
It was time to spend the points I had saved up.
[Name: Lee Yena (Lee Baek-ho)]
Level: 1
Title: None
Appearance: S
Singing: A-
Trait: Infinite Potential
Points: 0
Looking at the suddenly upgraded singing to A-, I smiled happily.
'Then, let's sing.'
I played one of the recently popular songs and opened my mouth in time.
"Yes, BIG BAN is back."
As soon as I opened my mouth, I was surprised. The song sounded good.
Honestly, in my previous life, no matter how hard I practiced, I never got the impression that the song sounded good; I only had the conviction that I had no talent for singing. This time was different.
The voice was sweet. It was so good that I wanted to tear it apart.
'It's good to listen to. It's a unique feeling, not imitating anyone.'
"Yena...?"
Turning my head at the voice from behind, my mom was staring at me with a shocked expression.
'Ah. I picked a song with English lyrics, didn't I.'
Hmm. But thinking about it, it couldn't be helped. Almost no Korean songs don't include some English lyrics.
Still, I should make an excuse first.
I pointed at the TV.
"TV!"
At that moment, the song I had just sung was playing on the TV.

Yena's mom, Ju Seo-hui, was quite surprised.
'My daughter is singing in English!'
I had always felt that my daughter was special, but I didn't expect this level!
'Is she singing that?'
On the TV that my daughter pointed to, a famous idol's song was playing.
'An idol...?'
Seeing an idol singing, the talents my daughter had flashed in my mind.
'First of all, she's pretty, and from listening to the song, she seems to sing well, and this is definitely idol-like!'
The image of my daughter becoming a famous idol, singing and dancing flashed in my mind for a moment, but that thought didn't last long.
'No, that's my wish. In the end, the choice of what to do should be Yena's.'
Since Ju Seo-hui was a mom who respected her daughter's opinions, she quickly erased the image of Yena becoming an idol from her mind.
Still, I couldn't help but listen to my daughter singing.
"Yena. Can you sing it one more time?"
Looking at her daughter nodding her head, she thought. Even if her daughter didn't have anything special, she would have loved her.
'It's okay if she's ordinary.'
Just being born as her daughter was already special.

Phew. I was shocked.
Thanks to handling the situation flexibly, I was able to easily get through the recent situation.
'From now on, I have to be careful.'
I had occasionally shown behaviors not befitting a two-year-old, and if this continued, my parents might think I was a genius.
I'm not a genius.
'It's just a phenomenon caused by the body's age not following the mental age.'
This problem would be resolved when I become an adult later. By then, the body's age would almost match the mental age.
'Since I was caught singing, I should just sing.'
Accepting my mom's request, I started singing the song I had been singing.
"I hope you leave the last greeting today for just one day!"
As expected, two-year-olds are too young.
I couldn't pronounce it the way I wanted.
'Even if I could, I wouldn't have.'
It's not strange for a two-year-old to speak fluently.
Around five years old would be more appropriate.
At five, I could say that he was a smart kid.
But my mom's expression was only bright. Despite the inaccurate pronunciation and infantile intonation, my mom clapped her hands and exclaimed in admiration.
"Our Yena, aren't you really a genius? This is what absolute pitch is, right?"
'It's not absolute pitch... It's the power of the system.'
I swallowed the words I couldn't say out loud inwardly, and put a smile on my lips.

In the morning, I came to the playground with my mom.
The playground was as empty as a weekday morning.
The slide, swings, and seesaw were empty, and only the iron bars being shaken by the wind made a creaking sound. I led Yena's body to the sandbox. Although my legs were still small and wobbly, there was no discomfort walking strangely.
'My body feels more capable of using than in my previous life?'
I sat down carefully on the sand, hugging my knees, and looked around. From afar, one or two kids were entering the playground holding their mom's hand.
"Hi~ What's your name?"
The first one to approach was a girl a bit taller than me. She had long hair and a pink t-shirt.
"...Yena."
"I'm Harin! Let's play together?"
No other choice.
I quietly nodded my head and stood up. Harin smiled brightly and took my hand. We alternated sitting on the swings, pushing each other, digging in the sand to make shapes, and shouting while playing on the slide.
My body was young, but my heart was strangely warm in one corner.
'That's why everyone misses their childhood.'
Playing with a child made the dirty heart seem purified, and it was nice to play with peers after a long time. It was quite fun.
After playing for a while, I got out of breath. My body got tired quickly, but my mood was refreshingly clear. Harin grabbed my sleeve and said.
"Yena, let's play together again tomorrow!"
I was momentarily startled, but my head nodded automatically.
"Yeah."
The short answer in a childish voice made my heart deep inside warm strangely. A normal day, but a day I wouldn't forget.
