Chapter 247
Because they each had too much pride to accept a loss.
As proof, things had come to this.
They'd encountered intelligent extraterrestrial life, even exchanged names, but it had inevitably ended in combat.
"Damn it, it's having no effect whatsoever."
Colonel Elbert, hunkered down behind cover, watched in panic as their attacks did nothing. At this rate, the enemy could wipe them all out.
Major Kenneth looked grim and desperate too.
"Should we detonate the nuke?"
They'd brought it just in case a powerful foe invaded Earth. To eliminate the threat before it could slip through the portal.
This Tan Ya Granera alien didn't seem like friend material. Better to kill him here than risk him retaliating with an invasion of Earth.
After agonizing over it, Colonel Elbert gave the order.
"Activate it."
"Understood."
Major Kenneth bolted toward the back of the barracks.
The nuke would kill them all, but at least the glorious homeland would be safe from the enemy. Fueled by that sense of duty, Major Kenneth entered the barracks and opened the case containing the nuclear bomb.
Hovering in midair, Han Yaseong took the concentrated fire from the Americans while spotting it.
They're hiding something over there.
No need to hunt for it—they'd exposed it themselves. Convenient.
But what to do with these guys? Crush them all with the gravity weapon?
That would make them eternal enemies. He still had to visit America later and bed some Hollywood actresses... Killing them might complicate things.
So instead, he'd teach them a harsh lesson without the gravity weapon. His invincible suit made it possible.
Han Yaseong rocketed forward, closing in on a soldier launching a missile.
"Huh?"
The guy froze in shock, stammering as Han Yaseong appeared right in front of him. His eyes screamed I'm dead.
Even special forces feared death. Han Yaseong smashed a fist into the man's face.
Thwack! The soldier crumpled, several teeth shattering and flying—but nothing life-threatening. A couple months of treatment and rest ought to fix him.
That was the plan for the rest too. After all, they'd fired on him first.
Han Yaseong zipped through the air like the wind, pummeling every shooter.
Thud! Thud!
"Gahhh!"
Flying around and beating them down, he soon had over a dozen sprawled on the ground. They weren't even worthy opponents from the start.
Having the time of his life pounding them, Han Yaseong suddenly remembered something and dashed into Major Kenneth's barracks.
"No! Stop him!"
Colonel Elbert charged after him in desperation.
Inside, Major Kenneth had the case open, the nuke out, and was inputting codes.
"No!"
He startled at Han Yaseong's entrance and froze. Han Yaseong swung immediately.
Thwack! Kenneth's nose exploded in blood as he flew backward.
The nuke wasn't armed yet. Han Yaseong kicked the barracks to pieces and called out.
"Yadong! Grab this."
Space Yadong swooped in and snatched the nuke case.
Colonel Elbert, apparently on the receiving end of a few punches amid the fight, lay curled up with a bloody nose.
After handing the case to Yadong and sending it ahead, Han Yaseong beat down the remaining soldiers. Soon, all fifty-odd troops were down with injuries severe enough for about twenty weeks' recovery.
He spared the scientists and medical team—they weren't armed and had hidden.
"Ughhh..."
The soldiers groaned in pain, unable to rise. Every one had at least one broken bone.
With everything sorted, Han Yaseong called for Dr. Schumann.
"Dr. Schumann."
"Y-yes..."
Dr. Schumann emerged cautiously from his hiding spot in the corner.
"Don't leave this area. When the portal opens, go home. Got it?"
"Understood. But... could we talk more? There's so much I'm curious about here."
He seemed more a man of pure science—curiosity outweighed fear. His relentless inquisitiveness shone through.
"I'll come back later. Gotta deal with the other countries' forces first."
"You'll do this to them all too?"
"Yeah. This is my land. No one's allowed in. I'll close the portals too."
At the mention of closing the portals, Dr. Schumann looked deeply regretful.
"Can't we come back to pioneer and research this place? With your permission, we'd study the planet."
"No."
Han Yaseong refused coldly. Better not give them any pretext.
As he turned to leave, he spotted a pretty researcher mixed in with a few women. A bob-haired blonde beauty in a white lab coat, tall and slender—she was instantly arousing.
Terror filled her face. Han Yaseong wanted to grab her and fuck her right then, but held back. His identity might leak. Getting caught mid-fuck could expose him as Korean, even reveal the spaceship.
Too bad.
Han Yaseong shook his head and blasted off at high speed.
Dr. Schumann gasped at the sight.
"How the hell does he fly? That thing on his back?"
But he couldn't fathom the principle. Everything was a mystery begging to be unraveled.
"Fortunately, no fatalities."
One researcher reported after checking the wounded.
"He does have some mercy."
He could've killed them all but didn't. With such overwhelming power, sparing them was a show of dominance—and proof his heart wasn't cruel.
Relieved, Dr. Schumann turned.
"He seemed interested in Dr. Ellis."
The beauty shook her head as he glanced at her.
"No way..."
But she'd felt it too. The alien's gaze... Hidden by the helmet, but she sensed the interest.
Sexual interest. A woman's intuition told her he wanted her right then.
"Since he's into Dr. Ellis, there's still hope."
Speculation: Tan Ya Granera was probably male. Build suggested humanoid.
"Medical team, treat Colonel Elbert and the soldiers—now."
At Dr. Schumann's order, the team hurried over.
Biologist Dr. Ellis stared in the direction Tan Ya Granera had vanished at high speed.
At 26, with an IQ of 160, she'd graduated Harvard early at 17 and become the youngest PhD in biology. Her genius had earned her a spot on this advance team.
But encountering an alien, sparking a battle, and drawing his interest? Overwhelming.
Yet not unwelcome. An intelligent otherworldly species showing interest was thrilling.
Maybe direct talks later.
But what if he demands sex?
He might want kids. Aliens breeding through human women?
Several fertile women were at the camp. She dreaded birthing an alien hybrid.
The portal wouldn't open for another two months. Watching the med team treat the wounded, everyone grew anxious about what lay ahead.
Back at the ship, Han Yaseong first disposed of the nuke. He pulled up the screen and entered the disposal command.
Wondering if it'd work, a long mechanical arm extended, grabbed the case, inserted it somewhere, and began processing. A "Nuke Disposal in Progress" window appeared, energy levels rising.
What a handy spaceship. With this, world conquest seemed possible.
"Good work, Yadong."
Grrowl—it demanded treats. But supplies had run out long ago.
Better hit home for provisions before dealing with the other armies.
"The portals don't all appear at the same time."
They weren't uniform. Each had its own schedule.
If they only opened every hundred days, it'd be a hassle. The Americans had come three months ago, so two more months till theirs reopened for return.
Here, portals popped daily—truly fortunate. No forced multi-month stays.
"Yadong, I'm heading home soon. Guard this place."
Grrowl—Don't worry, just bring lots of treats.
But leaving it alone worried him. Who knew what it'd do.
It was Yadong who'd punched Colonel Elbert and busted his nose. As suited-up space Yadong, it might go on a rampage against other nations' troops. Time to rein it in.
