Chapter 243
"Whoa, this is insane..."
Now he could see Earth clearly from this planet. He'd once glimpsed his house through satellite photos on the internet back home, but this was live. Real-time broadcast. He could make out every passerby on the street, every car zipping along. The giants must have viewed Earth just like this. Probably spied on other planets the same way, like some cosmic hidden camera.
Han Yaseong had spent the last few days mastering the translation device. With this, he could talk to any country's military goons. Hell, even the giants. Their language translated to Korean too. The other side's words auto-converted to his ears, and his speech got flipped into their tongue. Chatting with Americans? Their English hit his ears as Korean, his Korean came out as English to them. This little gadget opened doors to anyone on the planet. No—across the entire giant-influenced swath of space. That explained how the giants kept exploring endlessly. Though they'd only scratched the surface so far.
How vast was the universe, really? Unimaginable. They said there might be universes beyond universes—infinite, maybe. No end in sight.
"Should I go give those bastards a beating?"
With the translator and gravity weapon in hand, he itched to take on the militaries. But it was still too risky. One stray bullet, and he was done. Even the gold bar giant had dropped to the gravity gun. No time to heal meant no second chances. He needed some kind of shield. If only that golden bio-armor would show up—but no clue how to trigger it.
"Hey, Yadong, got any suits or something? For protection."
Yadong growled and headed to the armory. A tap on the wall spat out a massive black suit. Giant-sized, like a spacesuit for vacuum.
"No smaller ones?"
Another growl—it could resize. Somewhere with a tailoring setup, apparently. Yadong grabbed the giant suit and led him to a huge workshop-like space, full of machine tools like a cosmic metal shop.
Yadong gestured to lay the suit on a round table. Han Yaseong did. Yadong fiddled with a panel nearby. Bright light bloomed on the table; laser arms descended from the ceiling, slicing into the suit.
Giant tech was no joke. No hand-sewing needed—the machines handled it all. Just input commands, and done. This ship had endless secrets to unpack.
Han Yaseong planned to boot the militaries, swing home for a day to restock food, then hole up another half-year studying. After a thorough romp with Choi Yujin and Jang Eun-ah, of course. Two years without a woman had him pent-up bad. No girls here were the only roadblock. If there were, he'd trade gems for sex or force the issue—whatever.
Speaking of, he recalled a few female soldiers among the troops. Worth checking. If any, he'd claim them as spoils. "Die or fuck?"—let 'em choose.
First, to the cockpit to scout the women. The suit finished quick. Lasers cut and sealed seams in seconds. Heavy as hell, but when he slipped it on, it fit like a glove—thanks to Yadong's inputs. Still, it sucked. Rubber-like material clung skin-tight, stifling. Arms and legs felt bound.
"Man, can't wear this."
He looked like a black rubber freak; even breathing was tough. Human spacesuits were bad enough—giant ones no better. Yadong growled: just wear it, it'd loosen up. Fine. He trudged to the cockpit, planning to test it a few hours before deciding.
In the cockpit, he pulled up screens, zooming on the forests with the nine armies—total nine spots, but solo intruders likely too.
Anyone home on Earth wouldn't ping here, so screens might miss them. He ordered Yadong:
"Show every portal on this planet."
Yadong stomped the panel, bustling. The whole screen lit blue.
"What the hell?"
One per forest? Over 300—that'd be chaos. Too many portals.
Yadong growled: not portals—searching. Damn false alarm. Blues winked out one by one—no portal. Then reds flickered on.
Reds marked portals—about fifty. His Forest 0, Reina's Forest 2, enemy camps—all lit. Others had portals but no people.
"Scan for human traces."
Yadong stomped and searched again. Time to learn giant script—then he could run it himself. Like web surfing, but illiterate. Korean-to-giant conversion worked, but lazy. Yadong nailed it anyway.
Soon, seven spots with blue showed activity: campsites, junk tossed in portals. More knew this planet than he thought. He'd slacked assuming only Reina knew. At least eighteen humans were aware. The ship unseen was luck. No time left—expel all, seal portals.
"How to destroy portals? Search."
Yadong growled, digging admin-style. Not man-made—glitch? Ship struggled.
Finally, likely cause in giant script. Translated to Korean: gold bar dust from dead Impressionist giant scattered, condensing energy into portals. 93% odds. Rest junk.
CAUSE: Gold bar fragments dispersed upon giant's death.
Dust settled across forests → Energy condensation → Portal formation.
CONFIDENCE: 93%
WARNING: Cannot manually destroy. Risk of massive explosion.
Fragments birthed portals—most plausible. Remaining thirty undiscovered, but ripe for humans. Ship: no forced shutdown—explosion risk. Energy too volatile.
Seal temporarily: metal cages around portals, trapping entrants.
They'd loop back in a day. Han Yaseong schemed, then ordered:
"Build metal enclosures on empty portals. Possible?"
Yadong inputted. The screen showed a box: four meters high and wide. Perfect cover. Fifty of those, bullet/bomb-proof. Cover all but Forest 0. Forest 2 with Reina? Watch and wait.
