Chapter 218
"Do I look like I'm obsessed with pussy? Even if I was, once I get back to my world, two girls as pretty as you will spread their legs for me. What would I have to miss out on to beg you for it?"
"Two of them?"
"Yeah. That's why I haven't raped you. I can call those two over anytime at home. You think you're all that, but to me, you're just average. If you were really something special and I was that horny, I'd have fucked you already. You think I'd just let you be?"
Reina had to admit he had a point. If Han Yaseong didn't have women, he would've raped her for sure. No need to ask if she wanted it—he'd just take it. The fact that he hadn't made it clear he wasn't desperate for pussy.
He liked women, sure, but not enough to force it or beg.
So Reina adjusted her strategy.
"Then we can start as friends and take it slow from there. You must get lonely out here all by yourself."
"Not lonely. Plenty of animals around... You're the one who's bored and came here to tempt me with your pussy."
She couldn't argue with that, so Reina deflated. She'd pegged him as just another Asian guy—easy prey—but he was picky as hell.
Reina, from conservative Texas stock, subtly bought into white superiority. Rural whites were the worst racists, after all. She wasn't full-on racist, but she did see Asians as lesser. Like how Koreans looked down on Southeast Asians.
"Fine, if you don't want me here, I won't come. I wasn't dying to visit anyway."
Feeling rejected, her pride stung, and she dropped the idea of coming back. The hut chilled instantly. They lay on their blankets without another word.
Reina turned her back, biting her lip in hurt and humiliation. She'd wanted to be friends, maybe more, and he'd shot her down. She'd even hinted at offering her body... Now her pride burned hotter with rage.
Han Yaseong wasn't thrilled either. She came off as pushy, and he hated how petty he'd been. Arguing with a girl like this? Annoying. Part of him wondered if he should just rape her and be done. Prisoners who talked back like that? You couldn't be nice to them.
That night, they tossed and turned with pissed-off expressions until sleep took them.
The next morning, Reina stirred first.
"I gotta pee."
"Go piss by yourself."
He had no interest in watching anymore. Pretty ass? Big deal if she was stubborn and prideful. She reminded him of Choi Yujin—popular girls who thought men were toys. At least Senior Choi had that cute, flirty charm. This blonde bitch acted all haughty, white-girl style. Made him hate her more.
Hands bound, Reina opened the hut door, dropped her pants in the corner, and peed. He was still mad, apparently. She'd slept it off, but not him.
Asians weren't chill, people said. Her Korean high school friend had sulked for three days once. It'd annoyed her then, and feeling it now just made her smirk inwardly.
She peed long and satisfyingly, enjoyed the cool breeze, then came back in. He was already packing to send her off.
"Can't give you a gun. I'll keep it—you just go."
"No breakfast?"
"Just go. You're a hassle."
His sulk was obvious. Why were Asians like this? Whites fought, talked it out, moved on. Asians ghosted to build distance.
Reina hesitated. Leaving like this meant no coming back—he'd never welcome her. She needed to part on good terms for another shot. As the prisoner, she'd yield.
"Let me eat first. I'll cook—then you send me off."
"I said just go."
"Guys can't be that petty. When a girl's like this, you gotta let her have her way."
She was lecturing him now. Han Yaseong, irritated, just scoffed and stormed out. Emotional tug-of-war with a girl was exhausting. He knew he was being small-minded, so he bailed.
Yadong, woken by the noise, glared like what the fuck, then curled up in the corner and slept on.
Feeling Han Yaseong retreat, Reina smiled, used her teeth to untie her wrists. Good food would fix his mood. Mom was often away, so she cooked a lot—decent skills.
She grabbed ingredients from the corner stash. Chipped off hippo meat from the frozen hunk, divided into three. Steak time.
Olive oil in the pan for the steaks, instant soup mix for broth. The aroma hit; Yadong peeked, nose twitching.
"Yadong, delicious food coming right up."
Reina grinned, bustling about.
Meanwhile, Han Yaseong hit the stream, detoxed, washed his face. Fine, breakfast then goodbye. First human he'd met here—better part clean, no regrets. He felt a twinge of guilt for being harsh. Telling her never to come back? She'd be bummed. Yeah, eat and split amicably. Be the bigger man. Show that cool Korean guy vibe—no whiny stereotype.
Hovering near the hut, he peeked in awkwardly. Killer meat and soup smells wafted out. Yadong sat politely by the fire, waiting. That spineless mutt... Feed it, and it'd betray its owner.
Han Yaseong paced outside, too awkward to enter.
Reina, portioning the food into three, spotted him and laughed. He's shy too. Prisoner like her, and he played gentleman. Couldn't roughhouse without consequences, but still. He seemed decent. A bad guy would've hit or raped her when mad. Texas guys were rough—girls had to be tough there.
Korean exchange students in high school? Weak mentally and physically. Bullied by whites, blacks, Hispanics. Stuck with fellow Asians. That's why she'd underestimated Han Yaseong.
"Yaseong, food's ready. Come in."
Guy carving out a lonely domain here. No more looking down on him. Hell, treating him well benefited her. No high school kid treatment.
Called in, Han Yaseong cleared his throat and entered reluctantly. Three plastic plates loaded. Yadong was already chowing down.
"You made all this?"
"Yeah. Try it—it's good."
Big steak chunk with corn kernels and veggie bits, soup on side. Looked pro.
Han Yaseong sat, cleared his throat again. Yadong scarfed noisily. He sliced steak with a small knife, forked bites.
Reina had a knife too—no worry, she'd try nothing. Stab? Pin her, ass-fuck, bury alive. He chilled.
Meat was fire. Tender, well-oiled sear. Corn and veggies complemented. Soup spicy—good kick.
"What's this soup?"
"Made it with that. Looked tasty."
Soft tofu seasoning packet. Bit in lotsa water, veggies, boiled.
"Not too spicy? Americans can't handle heat."
"I like spicy. Not as much as Koreans, though."
Spicy but bland broth. Perfect for American Reina. Korean taste? Like watered-down tteokbokki.
Tasty regardless. He kept at it with the meat. Yadong finished, wandered out.
Alone, just munching sounds. Reina cracked first.
"If you say don't come, I won't."
"Yeah."
He didn't invite her back. Had land to till.
