Chapter 15
He was on a different level from the herbivore guys in the club. A mid-20s man who looked handsome enough to be a celebrity.
Choi Yujin-senior must have felt those stares too—she'd glance over now and then with a little smirk. She acted like it was only natural for a hot guy to be into her.
Watching that, Han Yaseong suddenly felt a heavy weight in his chest. Seeing her take interest in another guy left him strangely depressed. He didn't want to see that. And she even had a boyfriend right now...
Choi Yujin-senior was one of the campus celebrities. Her boyfriend was a star player on the basketball team. On top of that, he was filthy rich—his dad ran some major golf company, and the guy drove around in a luxury foreign sports car worth 200 or 300 million won.
But Choi Yujin-senior rolled up in a red Lamborghini herself. Rich people stuck with rich people, as always.
Han Yaseong figured he was out of the picture anyway. He polished off his plate and headed back for more food. Right now, the best thing was just to eat well and have fun.
“Eun-ah, you already paid?”
“Yeah. Gotta cover my share.”
Eun-ah-senior had quietly footed the buffet bill sometime during the meal. With both her and Choi Yujin-senior paying up, the rest of the group looked apologetic—especially the third-year guys, who seemed downright ashamed.
“We'll pay you back in Seoul.”
“Nah. Buy your own instant noodles in the army.”
Choi Yujin-senior and Eun-ah-senior didn't even seem to want the money back. They really were loaded, no doubt about it. Han Yaseong got another reminder of the perks of being rich. Someday, he wanted to treat them like that too. But stuck relying on his parents' allowance, he could only sigh in frustration.
Not that he'd want to grind some part-time job just to buy them a meal. No—he just wanted to be rich enough to do it effortlessly. But that wasn't happening. Han Yaseong knew it all too well. He'd probably never get the chance.
Bellies full and sluggish from the feast, the group wandered outside for a stroll. It was night, but the pool area was still packed—bright lights made it feel like broad daylight.
They'd already had their fill of fun and showers, though, so no one was jumping back in. Instead, they meandered around, chatting about nothing important.
And that's when it happened.
“Mind if we talk for a sec?”
The man's voice made everyone turn. It was the guy from the buffet, standing right behind them. Tall as hell—pushing 190 cm. His legs in those shorts looked endlessly long. At 173 cm, Han Yaseong had to crane his neck way up.
“Me?” Choi Yujin-senior asked in that coy tone, playing innocent even though she knew damn well.
The guy, towering with confidence, nodded. “Yeah. Just wanna chat for a minute.”
His face said he didn't even consider failure an option. Another one living in a different world. Normal guys didn't pull off pick-up lines like that—especially not on a girl like Choi Yujin-senior. She stood out even in this water park. Guys stole glances every time she passed; girls nearby shot dirty looks. He'd seen it happen over ten times already today.
So even a top-tier kingka like him had to go hunting.
“Sure. Be right back, guys.” Choi Yujin-senior shot her group a look, then walked off with him.
Eun-ah-senior let out a resigned sigh. The girls watched with envy and flushed excitement.
“Classic Yujin-senior. She got picked up.”
“That guy's tall.”
They all looked like they'd kill to be hit on by someone like that. Maybe it was every girl's fantasy. But in reality, it only applied to Choi Yujin-senior. No club girl was getting that treatment—Eun-ah-senior might have a shot, but she'd need to ditch the no-makeup vibe.
The herbivore guys just felt down watching her stroll side-by-side with a kingka.
“Dude, that guy's a killer. Gotta be a model.”
“Totally. No normal dude looks like that.”
The gap was too wide for jealousy. Envy needed some semblance of equality to kick in. Shorter, uglier, worse build—no contest from the start. A kingka like that could snag any girl he wanted. They'd all line up and spread their legs without a fight.
No matter how haughty the girls acted, they melted for guys like him. What an unfair world.
The mystery club guys looked bitter, like they'd lost their queen. Or like their favorite idol girl group member got caught in a scandal. Not their girl, sure, but watching her walk off with another dude still sucked.
Han Yaseong's mood sank too. Kwon Seoha popped into his head. She'd get a boyfriend eventually. With all those guys chasing her, it was inevitable. Every time he thought about it, he felt pathetic. The only fix was giving up on reality altogether—no expectations, no disappointment.
“Hey, there's that arcade from earlier. Wanna check it out?”
The vibe was tanking, so Han Yaseong suggested it. No one had better ideas, so they shrugged and agreed.
“Yeah, let's go.”
They piled into the building and hit the massive arcade next to the first-floor lobby. Everyone scattered to game machines, killing time with mindless play. Not super fun, but it beat boredom.
Han Yaseong hunched over a flight sim cockpit, joystick in hand. The others dotted around, gaming solo.
About an hour later, boredom won out. They bailed—it was past 10 p.m. now. Time for bed. With a vague sense of emptiness, they headed back to their rooms.
Choi Yujin-senior showed up about 30 minutes later. Her face was flushed red—she'd clearly been drinking.
“What are you idiots doing sleeping here? Come to the girls' room.”
The guys, half-asleep, stumbled over in confusion. The girls were already out in the living room, briefed by Choi Yujin-senior.
“We're on an MT—might as well crash together.”
Tipsy and whiny, she insisted on everyone piling into the spacious girls' living room.
The guys didn't mind, but the girls looked awkward. Still, sleeping separately on an MT felt kinda pointless, so Eun-ah-senior stepped up.
“Guys, grab your blankets and pillows. We'll chat in the living room and crash here together.”
The guys shuffled back for their stuff. What started as a lame guys-only snooze turned into a group sleepover—everyone was giggling, mood lifted.
They spread out blankets across the wide floor: guys on the left, girls on the right. No chance of accidental contact. Still, Eun-ah-senior adjusted her glasses and issued a warning.
“Not that you'd try anything, but if anyone sneaks over in the night and gropes the girls, you're done.”
The guys swallowed hard. One third-year protested, looking wronged.
“Why would we do that? Sleep easy, everyone.”
We're all herbivores here, he might as well have said. And it was true—no one was bold enough to touch a sleeping girl. Not even Han Yaseong. No matter the urges, he wouldn't cross that line.
But then Choi Yujin-senior, lounging under her blanket and dangling a smooth leg, dropped a bombshell.
“Hey, ease up. Guys wanna touch girls' bodies so bad... It's an MT—specially let 'em grope our tits and asses.”
“What the hell? Go to bed if you're drunk, Yujin.”
“Touching a sleeping girl on the sly? That's the ultimate guy fantasy, right?”
She eyed the guys, like back me up. They froze. Agreeing felt wrong; denying it felt weirder. Sure, sneaking a feel sounded thrilling—as long as you didn't end up in jail.
