The Woman in the Mirror
When I woke from an anxious dream that morning, my chest heaved with ragged breaths. “Haa… Haa… Haa…” My body felt wrong. A feverish heat pulsed beneath my skin, laced with a deep, throbbing ache that refused to fade.
It made no sense. I possessed Regeneration, the ability to heal any injury in an instant. Pain should have been impossible. A mere nightmare couldn’t possibly reduce me to this.
Still, I forced my unsteady legs forward, limping toward the mirror. When I finally lifted my gaze to the glass, the reflection staring back was not my own. An unfamiliar woman stood there instead—wide-eyed, trembling, and undeniably female.
