The Life That Wasn't Fair
There are days like that.
The day I lie down to sleep but end up reflecting on my life. I think I've been living pretty hard. I didn't graduate from university, but I'm working hard at my current job now. I had no talent, but I've been steadily and diligently working out for a few years and built a decent body and fitness. I have nothing, but I still think about people who are even harder off and donate steadily. I don't drink, smoke, or party like that.
But my luck was fucking terrible. The humans who are my parents abandoned me at an orphanage. I don't even know if they're alive or dead.
Somehow, I'm grinding away as a developer in a fucking shit company, but I feel the danger to jobs as AI advances. The fucking bitch who is my girlfriend left, saying "marriage is reality" and that she couldn't marry someone like me, an orphan bastard.
Of course, I still haven't gotten married or bought a house. The only thing I have is a villa rented in the outskirts of Gyeonggi. Investment? Of course I tried it. Every time I bought something, it dropped like crazy. If I cut losses, it bounces back!
Life is really fucking unfair. Some people say they graduated from good universities and get performance bonuses from good companies. Some people say they made a lot of money with stocks or crypto. Some people say they got married, had kids, and are living a happy life. Some people say they bought a house in Seoul and now the house prices have skyrocketed. Every piece of news I hear makes me feel like a loser.
No, but I do have one definite advantage. I am an orphan, so I didn't have to go to the military, but I voluntarily enlisted and served until my term ended. Because I didn't want to hear the story that being an orphan gave me some benefit.
Like an orphan, I did manual labor, but I taught myself coding on YouTube and got a job, and I've been working as a developer ever since. Because the advice from the squad leader that you shouldn't get used to getting paid for work when you're young hit home.
It took me a lot longer than others, but a while ago I finally hit 450kg on my deadlift for three sets. I had no real talent for exercise, but I didn't want to give up.
I never run away. I never give up. One thing that is my advantage is that I keep trying steadily, whether it works or not.
My life isn't over yet. While I keep doing something steadily, I'll overcome it. Let's see who wins in the end, you fucking bastards!!
With that resolve, I fell asleep. Yeah... I must have fallen asleep...
