Bloody Rose (5)
As the light exploded from the Silent Mage's glaive thrust high into the sky, mana twisted wildly and every sound in the world vanished. The clash of minions hacking at each other, the diagonal flow of the river from top to bottom lane, the rustle of leaves in the wind—all of it evaporated. The only thing we could hear was our team's voice chat.
Silence.
A teamfight-destroying ultimate that pierced even spell immunity, silencing every enemy across the map without mercy or distinction. In Eternal Combat, a game packed with complex mechanics, this was a refreshingly simple skill with an overwhelmingly devastating effect.
Ha-young, who had been about to kick the Brutal Spearman—impaling Yuna on his spear and charging toward us—back into their territory, froze mid-kick as if an invisible hand had grabbed her.
"Ugh... silence... hngh!"
Realizing the champion barreling toward her was the Brutal Spearman, Ha-young hurriedly tried to create distance. But the enemy offlaner's skill came a beat faster.
Yuna grimaced as the spear pierced her side, barely breaking free of the restraint. But right after getting skewered, the slow effect kicked in, preventing her from moving in time.
Having delivered Yuna straight into the heart of our base, the enemy offlaner leaped skyward with all his might.
"Raaagh!"
He slammed down just as ferociously, driving his spear deep into the ground. The embedded weapon vibrated violently, upheaving the earth around it.
"Argh!"
"Kyaa!"
Brutal Spearman's ultimate, Pole Reversal. It pulled all nearby enemies right in front of him, dealing damage and stunning them—a monstrous teamfight disruptor.
The ones caught were Yuna and Ha-young. As the two clustered together, skills from Bloody Rose rained down on them.
"Damn it, Meteor!"
The moment Ha-young shook off the stun, she saw a blazing meteor plummeting toward them from the sky. It was already too close to dodge.
Yuna and Ha-young scrambled to minimize the damage, but Han Areum—who had been trading blows with Seon-ah the whole time—wouldn't allow it.
"Die!!!"
With raw emotion fueling her scream, she unleashed a crescent-shaped energy wave from her body.
After a brief delay, a massive meteor crashes to the ground, dealing heavy damage and slowly rolling forward to inflict sustained damage on enemies in its path. Collision and sustained damage scale with Fire element level; rolling distance increases with Lightning element level. Staying in the path refreshes sustained damage duration.
Fires a sweeping energy wave forward. Enemies hit take damage, get knocked back, and are disarmed for a duration, preventing basic attacks. Damage scales with Fire; disarm duration with Lightning; knockback distance and time with Ice.
The meteor hit the ground just as Crescent Wave slammed into Yuna and Ha-young, shoving them backward.
"Guh... aaagh!"
"Hngh..."
A quick dodge after the initial impact might have saved them from the meteor's heavy collision damage, but Crescent Wave sent them slowly sliding back. The meteor rolled after them at the same speed, piling on massive damage—especially to the squishier Ha-young.
Meteor was easy to dodge with its slow roll, but its damage was legendary in Eternal Combat. Pairing it with Crescent Wave for easy setup was standard. A slight position shift usually ruined the combo by altering the knockback angle, but with Pole Reversal pinning them in place, it was child's play.
'Ugh... I'm done for. No way out now...'
Sensing her imminent death, Ha-young unleashed her ultimate in a final desperate act, cursing the Brutal Spearman with Earth's Wrath and summoning an Earth Phantom as far away as possible before yanking it with Earth Grip.
The pulled phantom barreled toward Ha-young, slamming into the Silent Mage and Brutal Spearman to silence them.
But Ha-young couldn't kick it away before her health hit zero.
"Ah... sorry... everyone..."
We'd lost Ha-young, but Bloody Rose wasn't getting off easy either.
Their powerhouse teamfight ultimate, Time Locker's Time Lock, had been blown pre-fight. And with Seon-ah's insanely evasive Shadow Assassin wreaking havoc in the backline...
In their comp, only Han Areum's Elementalist could handle Seon-ah in a teamfight. But she'd dumped her full combo on Yuna and Ha-young, leaving their backline exposed.
Both sides had been silenced at the fight's start, but Seon-ah—shielded by Eunjae's Light Spirit—marched forward and tore into the rear.
The Silent Mage had already blown her general skills harassing Eunjae, leaving nothing to stop Seon-ah. She targeted the biggest teamfight nuisance: the Silent Mage. A support with no escape? Easy pickings for a well-farmed Seon-ah.
"Die, you bastard! Die! Die...?"
But the Silent Mage—who should've been dead ages ago—clung to life with 1 HP. Gravestone-like magic circles orbited her body.
"Damn it, Dark Priest..."
Dark Priest's Grace of the Grave. A super-save that prevented death for a brief window. The gravestones signaled it was active.
Silence lifted just then, along with Ha-young's death announcement. Seon-ah hurled her dagger at the Dark Priest, melted into shadows, and reemerged from her shadow.
"You're first!"
"Tch, damn it..."
A squishy Dark Priest with a super-save was still fragile. She couldn't withstand a fed Shadow Assassin. Even after Grace expired, her heals and slows bought no time—a single crit vaporized half her health, and she dropped instantly. But Seon-ah sensed the momentum shifting despite the kill.
'Damn, I've got gold but couldn't buy items before the fight—my damage is lacking. What now...'
The gank hit right as she was heading home; gold piled up, but no shop time meant starting at a deficit.
Evasion and Eunjae's support got her through the 4-man gank, but her health was low—and worse...
"Ugh... I can't hold any longer! Sorry! BRB!"
Eunjae, clinging to range for Light Bond, got hammered by Time Locker and nearly died. Distance broke the bond as she fled. She ulted back to base fountain briefly.
Leaving Seon-ah alone in the enemy backline, unsupported.
Even Shadow Assassin's evasion had limits. Without Light Spirit's shields, she was now at risk.
"Ugh... what do I do? Staying means death, but retreating now... screw it! Attack—"
"Seon-ah unnie! Portal home!"
Sera's voice cut through from afar. Seon-ah turned to see her already in the enemy backline via Hollow Spirit's ultimate, Void Island, taking up the baton with her depleted health and mana.
Silent Mage and Elementalist switched from the annoying evasive Seon-ah to the easier Sera.
Their comp hard-countered spirits head-on; it was a bad matchup for Hollow Spirit Sera.
"What? If I bail, you all..."
"No time! Hurry! I can't last!"
Sera threw up a Void Grace shield and yelled. Silent Mage's Silence Prophecy locked on—if it popped, she'd be silenced and helpless.
Yuna caught on and shouted.
"Seon-ah! Home now! Before Eunjae's ult ends!"
"Ah! Got it! Be right back—hold on!"
Seon-ah bolted to safety, portaled to fountain.
"Huff... huff... Eunjae, ult return in how many seconds?"
"5!"
"Ugh, hurry... hurry...!"
5 seconds until Light Aid expired and Eunjae force-returned to the battlefield.
Meanwhile, Sera activated Seven Dimensions Void to briefly vanish. Silence Prophecy triggered on skill use. She avoided damage by despawning but still got silenced—buying just 1 second.
She reappeared to Time Locker, Elementalist, and barely-alive Silent Mage focusing her down. Silenced, Sera crumpled without a fight.
"Hng... unnies... fight on..."
"Damn it... I'm alone now. That damn Silent and Locker shut me down... Seon-ah, Eunjae! Hurry!"
Sera's death left Yuna 1v4. She scattered Thorn Burst at the low-health Silent Mage and charged, but frost and icicles crept over her body.
"Frostbite! Focus fire!"
Han Areum, reading Yuna, slapped on Frostbite. The team unloaded. Yuna's feet stuck in stutter-stun as Silent Mage backed off, slapping Silence Curse from range to shut down tricks.
While Yuna soloed 1v4, Seon-ah frantically shopped the hologram UI.
"3 seconds!"
"Where is it! Killer Hammer... Killer Hammer... two done..."
"1 second left! Hurry!"
"Demon Stone! Got it! Eunjae, link!"
"Gotcha!"
Light Bond connected as they vanished from fountain at full health/mana.
They reappeared in the fray's center.
"Eunjae! Handle Silent!"
"On it!"
Five light orbs spun from Eunjae. She widened their orbit for range; the vortex snagged Bloody Rose's low-health Silent Mage.
Pop! It burst, exposing her. Seon-ah's dagger followed—end of Silent Mage.
Kim Seon-ah
"Damn... it..."
She collapsed with a final gasp. Left: Yuna's Mightback, Eunjae's Light Spirit, Seon-ah's Shadow Assassin.
Bloody Rose: Elementalist, Time Locker, Brutal Spearman.
"Take her first! Before heals!"
Their offlaner scraped the ground with his spear toward Yuna, yelling. The shockwave rocketed straight at her.
A massive solar beam struck true from above. Yuna—solo too long—hit zero.
Engulfed in flames, she charred black, smoke billowing from her body and mouth as she toppled forward.
"Damn... you all... win this..."
Yuna down. Just Seon-ah and Eunjae.
"I'm different now!"
Seon-ah hurled a dagger at the approaching offlaner, then shadow-melted into his shade and burst out.
"Haat!"
Already low-health, he dropped to three basic attacks.
"Wha...?"
Kim Seon-ah
She hadn't expected to die—no crits even—but way faster than anticipated.
The secret? Items bought in that brief base return.
Massively boosts attack power. Basic attacks reduce enemy armor. Effect doesn't stack but refreshes duration.
Demonic Weapon: Huge attack boost, armor shred on basics. Shadow Assassin's core item, massive DPS spike. Shred applies to Shadow Dagger too, triggering its effects.
Shadow Dagger hurt more than expected; basics even worse. Early death inevitable.
Seon-ah pivoted to Elementalist and Time Locker. Time Locker up front.
"Wanna dance?"
"Cocky bitch!"
Two carry legends clashed. Time Locker backed by Elementalist firepower; Seon-ah by Eunjae's support.
But Light Bond shared Eunjae's Berserk Rampage buff, skyrocketing Seon-ah's attack speed.
"Haat! Hrah! Yah! Die, die!"
Slash!
Faster speed meant more crits. Sky-high attack from Demonic Weapon + shred = otherworldly crits. A spinning flourish slashed 60% off Time Locker, leaving a gaping wound gushing blood.
"Gasp!"
Bloody Rose's carry recoiled in horror, leaping back. Reverse clock holograms swirled, regenerating the wound instantly.
Time Travel. Time Locker's dash/survival that nullified the last 2 seconds' damage. She recovered fully. But Seon-ah didn't chase.
"Miss me?"
"You little sh—"
Seon-ah shadow-melted behind Han Areum. Shadow Strike doubled attack speed for several basics. Add Berserk Rampage—blinding speed flurry...
Slash!
Crit on squishy Elementalist: 80% gone. Dead.
Kim Seon-ah
"Guh... hack..."
Han Areum screamed and fell, bisected. 2v1 advantage.
"Tch... impossible..."
One Shadow Assassin wiping their team? Their carry fled, knowing she couldn't win. But Shadow Assassin's actives had short CDs.
"Pentakill time!"
Seon-ah daggered the backpedaling carry, then Shadow Struck behind her. Time Travel on cooldown.
Eunjae's Light Vortex orbs battered her side. Slow stacked.
"Pen!"
One slash.
"Ta!!"
Two.
"Kill!!!"
Slash!
Third crit obliterated her.
Kim Seon-ah
"Niiice!!!"
Seon-ah whooped, high-fiving Eunjae.
One set, but we'd crushed Division 3 overlords Bloody Rose with sheer skill.
