Such a Waste of a Game
The game is still going even though the result wasn’t satisfying. That happens a lot, right?
Most people play games to have fun, after all.
Even if it’s just to kill time, it’s better than just sitting there breathing quietly.
Humans have always been the type who get a kick out of tossing stones to hit something, but
League of Champions takes that basic appeal to the extreme by combining teamwork with opponents and pitting teams against each other.
That’s why it still has so many users.
I keep playing this cursed game too, muttering “I have to die, I have to die” when I’m bored.
Even the idiot who dragged me into this game in the first place is still at it, right?
But that’s exactly why I get stressed when the competition heats up, when I lose, or when team coordination falls apart.
Right now, for example, I got chat-restricted for telling someone off when they kept feeding kills on my lane and refusing to stop.
I honestly thought it was worth yelling about.
That kind of behavior deserves it.
Game companies punish the jerks who do it, but they only slap me on the wrist after I’ve already gotten cursed out first.
Whatever. Anyway.
When internal fights break out mid-game and people start throwing hands, it’s obvious the match isn’t fun anymore.
Some people claim even that stress is part of the game and should be enjoyed, but I’m no adult.
I just don’t like boring games, and I’m sure everyone feels the same.
So when the lobby feels toxic before we even queue up, I simply shut the game down.
Disconnecting mid-match means I’m quitting, but leaving before it starts is fine.
Our team was already picking champions that would make any real game impossible.
If we’re doomed to lose anyway, why bother playing together?
“This is a truly pathetic game where the trolls’ breath is stronger than the actual garbage.”
That’s how I left after the matchmaker placed us.
I waited until the final second, and instead of dodging, they just screamed at each other.
Next match they’ll probably pull the same crap.
We’re basically left with the same kind of players anyway.
Whether they curse or not is their business, not mine.
Queue Participation Failed
Game Pre-Exit Wait Time: 5:47
They don’t punish trolls at all, yet they’re strict with anyone who curses or leaves the queue.
They say “just quit if you’re mad,” but with no other outlets, I’m stuck.
Plus, even if I keep playing, it’ll kill me soon, and learning new games sounds exhausting.
I have to swallow my disappointment.
I stared at the dodge penalty notice for a while, then opened my internet browser.
I used to just play games without thinking, but now that this is all I do for a living, I need to gather information.
So when I’m not playing, I look for gaming communities.
Even without patch details, I at least want to know the current meta, buffs, and nerfs for various champions.
It’s annoying whether we win or lose.
They need to nerf him already.
People complain about trendy champions, item builds, or unfair patches.
Some comments feel relatable, others just make me tilt my head.
But I don’t care about developers’ intentions or user gripes.
I just look at champion and item prices and use whatever’s good.
If there’s a honey champion worth trying, I’ll pick it with Joker.
If a feed build is popular, I ban it because it’s annoying.
If Jaxson and similar tops are common, I prepare counters.
All of it from checking the official patch notes or playing myself.
But community opinions still help.
They’re basically statistics and other people’s real experiences.
With that info, there’s no reason not to use it.
Still, I don’t bother watching pro streams or tournament highlights.
Playing one more game is probably better anyway.
Of course there’s something to learn from pros’ plays and strategies.
But when I get a dodge penalty, watching full highlights isn’t necessary.
I can just grab the good stuff from community.
That’s the beauty of it.
Unfortunately, looking through the community also means I see stuff I didn’t want to.
Complaints about terrible people I met mid-game were the least of it.
Even random people’s dinner plans don’t bother me much.
It’s just the naked old man’s portrait.
They must’ve been really desperate for aggro.
But I just close the tab if I don’t like it.
This photo mentioning my ID, though, I can’t just scroll past.
I’ve been tracking him since last month because his playstyle is way too good.
Player who was stuck in silver for two years suddenly hit master.
They say player skill is getting more balanced, but that doesn’t explain it.
I saw him get blue-balled in gold before.
The current meta is brain-dead and lucky, but still.
I get that some players might’ve benefited, but the people who actually met him know.
Tops are usually aggressive.
They start fights assuming they’ll get hit twice.
Even when they could, they play differently with supports.
Everything revolves around hitting and being hit, and precise skill placement.
They’ll dodge important skills anyway, like flash or mobility items.
This guy does it mechanically.
I can understand lane play.
In a 5v5, non-targeted skills will hit.
See the shoulder bump animation? That’s only for duels.
Look at his Jaxson movement.
He jumped on a carry hit with Cassiopeia’s ultimate, stunned him, and then pulled back.
That’s not optimal.
Feeding the kill would’ve been better.
Feeding wouldn’t have stuck.
Feeding would’ve been better.
