Just the Delivery Fee Alone Would Cover the Cost
Even though it was a code given by the community, I could perhaps say that the affection behind it wasn't fully transmitted. Still, a gift card code was a gift card code after all. Offering back the gift one has received is something people might find difficult to accept, no matter what.
It was an open-minded community that asked about the parents of those who couldn't game casually, yet the reactions to my post weren't particularly positive.
"Tti-hwak-jjit": What the heck, dude! You just sold ramyun, jangajji, jjitjwang, and pi-gek-su just to eat? That's all it is?!!!
111.101: Don't just attach random words, it's weird lol
manaburn: Ah, you said your phone got broken...
까나페디엠: It says you posted that you sent a meat gift card just now... Is it possible someone stole it?
Noel농르: Ah, that's because I gave it to the downstairs neighbor just now.
까나페디엠: You sent it to me to eat, so why give it to the downstairs neighbor...
Noel농르: I've been giving you various side dishes all the time...
까나페디엠: But why would you ask me to take it from downstairs?
까나페디엠: No, sorry, I asked something pointless.
성채레오리: Uuuu, this trash just wrote something and called you parents-less... uuuuu
까나페디엠: No way!!! No way!!!
Yeah, this was the problem.
They bought it for me to eat, and now they were asking why I was making the neighbors do good deeds for me.
Well, I knew this was wrong too. So I couldn't come up with any excuses either.
도레미제라블: You idiots, you're trying to catch your dicks right now.
도레미제라블: And you want me to pay for the phone repair fee lol
기모으는중: Real lol, at this point they're trying to collect money sweetly lol
뜌땨뜌뜌땨: Hello, handsome Shinseoul University Bae Deuro, face-sign board of Golden Grandmaster Itera's Kim Seokjeong-nim.
doaldi: The hackers are having a meetup here lol
There were even people who misinterpreted my intent and took it as me having some evil purpose. Ah, that "hacker" wasn't insulting me for using hackers, but mocking those who kept shouting "I use hackers" like parrots.
Anyway, most people didn't seem to interpret it that way.
But the fact that such words came out made me uncomfortable. So I decided to write one more post.
I wanted to eat hamburger, chicken, or pizza too. But since I couldn't use the phone, I was planning to sell it and buy ramyun instead.
I looked around but all that came up was how to buy gift cards on a PC, not how to use them.
It didn't matter if I didn't fix the phone. After all, there was no one to contact anyway.
Gloryday: Ah, I understand. You're one of us, our fellow countrymen.
렉시아여왕님: Why does it feel so heartbreaking that there's no one to contact...
스테이지다이버: Ah, I have a method. There's a program that allows you to run mobile apps on a computer.
스테이지다이버: Install that and get CocoaTalk. lol
스테이지다이버: PC CocoaTalk isn't logged in? Log in there and get the verification to link it.
Noel농르: Wow, really, thank you so much.
And that was the answer.
Since I could finally use the gift card that way, I installed the mobile player program according to the advice and downloaded CocoaTalk on it. It felt strange using my phone with a mouse, but I briefly wondered why such programs existed. There were probably people like me who needed them.
The installation of CocoaTalk didn't take long. While searching, I learned that except for taking photos, all the mobile CocoaTalk features could be used.
That meant I could quickly order chicken to eat.
I put the gift cards into the gift box with the installed CocoaTalk and entered the codes one by one, sweat dripping. It was probably because of the fear that personal information might be stolen.
Among the codes people gave me, none were wasted. Chicken, hamburger, pizza, and more stacked up in the gift box. The saying that kindness comes from the heart wasn't empty after all.
Once there was plenty to eat, I felt my heart warm for the first time in a long while. If that was how I felt right now, even if our League of Champions team members dealt ten deaths in ten minutes, I could probably just go, "Yeah, sure, that's possible."
In the mood, I even decided to place an order. What should I eat, fried chicken or bulgogi pizza? While happily debating, I had no idea how long it had been since I ate a hearty meal.
Well, pizza was safe and easy to store. Chicken could be saved for later too, but reheating leftovers was always best with pizza. Plus, it was easy to adjust portions by slicing it.
After a brief hesitation, I was about to place the order when I ran into a new problem. It turned out delivery fees were added again. The calculation hadn't included the delivery fee when buying the gift cards.
Though it varied slightly by brand and distance, most were three or four thousand won. I started thinking maybe it was better to just sell the gift cards. The delivery fee alone was eating up the cost of several meals.
Ramyun was boring, but as someone who would die if money ran out, it felt like being asked to use my remaining four days of life to eat pizza.
This wasn't even luxury. ...But when I thought about it, it might not be pure luxury. If I ordered one pizza and ate it over four days, I would at least break even, right?
So I rationalized it to myself and entered my home address. I had no cash, but luckily delivery fees could be paid by account transfer. Even without a phone bank app, I could just input the check card info.
Ah, at this point, shouldn't I just turn off the phone...? ...But in this country, without a phone, life is hard. During the pandemic, they made everyone get vaccine passes through their phones and required almost all authentication via phone.
Since there was no one to contact anyway, was it right to keep paying for communication fees just in case? But whatever, my money wasn't even being spent. If electricity or water stopped, the phone would naturally fall into arrears and shut off. I wouldn't worry about that side.
If it cut off, I'd say "Ah, it's time to go," and then die. Either way, the fact that I could soon eat pizza was thanks to the community members.
Even if they were following their own broken promises and suffering karma, without them I wouldn't have had this opportunity either. So I should at least say thank you.
Depending on how you take it, it might be seen as Ti-bagging, but if someone thought that, they probably already hated me. What could I do if they hated me? I couldn't find them and stab them. In a world where parents can hate their own children, even strangers could be more cruel. I had no intention of getting worked up over it.
Originally, because I played League of Champions, I was also desensitized to swearing.
I should have taken a photo to prove it, but since my phone was broken, I couldn't take pictures. Sorry.
I had already calculated it with the gift cards, but it felt a bit unfair that I had to pay extra for the delivery fee...
Still, if I ordered one and ate it for four days, it would be worth it.
재그개새끼: It's mine... Eat it nicely...
내꿈은리오챔고수: Why is the delivery fee already a break-even story?
내꿈은리오챔고수: You only need three or four thousand won?
Noel농르: I ordered pizza, and the delivery fee is four thousand won lol
띠확찢: What kind of nonsense is it that after paying four thousand won in delivery fees for pizza, it becomes a break-even story for four days?
띠확찢: Did I understand correctly? Is the four-day food expense only four thousand won? What are you even eating?
띠확찢: Even the cheapest big cup ramyun is fifteen hundred won?
Neol농르: Yeah, the small cup is a thousand won.
Neol농르: If I eat one a day, the amount is plenty.
띠확찢: ?
한우젖소: ?????
dbcksrnjs0012: No, if that's how you're eating, you're so skinny like a twig;
I knew I was living in poverty to some extent.
But it wasn't that I only ate one meal a day because it was enough. My activity was only sitting on a chair and tapping the phone, and my body was already small, so I didn't need much calories. Plus, one less foot meant even less energy needed.
Yet somehow, the way they reacted with astonishment and then pitying comments felt unpleasant. When I saw people cursing, I didn't feel anything, but why? Was it because the pity felt cheap? Yeah, when the hacker suspicions came up, they just covered it and cursed instead. And now they were pretending to comfort and worry.
They definitely weren't doing it for me. They were probably just lost in their own self-image as people who worried about the disabled.
Or maybe they cursed as usual and then felt sorry because the curse was now from a disabled person.
Show me the evidence, lol
The downstairs neighbor? Of course it was a residential area or apartment.
Even if it was an orphan without parents, they had their own house.
If they were really poor and only ate one ramyun meal a day, they would be living in a shelter or gosiwon without a house lol
And no poor person spends all day gaming lol
So instead, seeing such biting posts made my heart feel a little at ease. It was the level of words I usually received.
