Ero Manga Avid Reader
There are three things I prioritize when reading ero manga.
First, the female characters have to be virgins.
Second, absolutely no NTR.
Third, a sweet, dripping-with-honey happy ending.
Of course, depending on how arousing the work is, I can overlook a bit. A widow living alone with her daughter after her husband died long ago? Fine even if she's not a virgin. If it's the protagonist stealing her away rather than her being stolen, I can tolerate it to some degree.
But fuck. The manga I just read broke the second rule—and the most important final one.
"The ending... they really went with this ending?"
I could chalk it up to missing it amid all the tags. If something felt off while reading, I could've just hit back. But this manga had a strange charm.
The characters, the story, especially the artwork. Not a single flaw—it was the kind of masterpiece that belonged in the hall of fame. By the time I sensed something weird, I was already too deep to pull out.
"Haa, what a shitshow."
My mood soured completely, so I sighed and pulled my pants back on. Then I flopped onto the bed, replaying the manga in my head.
The title: One Day, I Picked Up a Ninja.
The protagonist, Sato Kenji, is a successful doctor who brings home an injured female ninja—a kunoichi—on his way back from work. He treats her wounds at his place, puzzled about ninjas in the 21st century.
Up to that point, I figured it'd be a sweet pure-love story between Sato Kenji and the kunoichi. And honestly, it was—up to the middle.
Kenji cooks for her, treats her, gradually opening her heart. The kunoichi helps with housework and doesn't shy away from some steamy service. The scene where she offers her virginity? Hands down the manga's highlight.
'But who knew it'd pull a sudden drift from there.'
Once she recovered enough, the kunoichi vanished. Leaving just a thank-you note. Kenji, already smitten, blows his lifetime earnings as a doctor hiring people to track her down.
Meanwhile, back with her organization, the kunoichi takes on a new mission. But her wounds aren't fully healed, sequelae linger, and her skills are rusty from the long rest. She fails the assassination.
The price was brutal.
The targets gang-raped her relentlessly, humiliating her in every way imaginable—like they'd studied how to maximize a woman's shame. Even as she begged and sobbed for them to stop, the men didn't relent.
And that's when Kenji arrives with the mercenaries he hired—and witnesses it all.
His mercenaries take out the men with their skills. But the kunoichi is already broken.
The next day after bringing her home and giving emergency care, she kills herself. Leaving a note: At least I could offer my virginity to you.
And that was it. No sequel. No idea what the author was thinking.
"Who the hell likes an ending like this? That's why you don't read stuff from creators with masterpiece syndrome."
I'd wasted my college off-day holed up at home, and now my mood was ruined for nothing.
Vrrr.
Right then, a faint white light swirled around me, accompanied by static noise.
"...Huh? Wait, no way—is this awakening...?"
Awakening hits out of nowhere. No one knows what triggers a regular person becoming a Hunter. But everyone in the 21st century knows the signs.
"Haha... me, awakening?"
It didn't feel real. Hunters clear gates, claim wealth and fame. There are under 100,000 registered in Korea, I heard. And I hit that lottery.
Yoon Jiseung, age 22.
Finally, life could bloom. Dodging the military was a godsend—Hunters get full exemptions.
'Gotta apply for the Hunter Department at Hankuk University, then. Only one in Korea, right?'
My major wasn't a fit anyway. Starting over as a freshman sucked, but awakening made up for it.
Mid-February meant time before semester start. I could enroll there this year. Unlike regular departments, Hunter ones allow transfers anytime before classes.
First, check the ability.

"...?"
I stared blankly at the system window.
Ero Manga Avid Reader? Shouldn't it be something like Swordsman, Mage, or at least Blacksmith?
'And the ability? Change an ero manga's ending—what then?'
People say awakening is always a win, but this looked off. What do I even tell the Management Bureau?
'Maybe just settle for dodging the army.'
Level 0 confirmed.
"Oh, right. The tutorial."
Systems help test your ability post-awakening. I swallowed hard.
Even if it seemed useless, you never know. "Trash" abilities turning out OP happens all the time.
"Please be a winner. Winner, winner!"
I rubbed my hands, waiting. Finally, the window appeared.
One Day, I Picked Up a Ninja
"...Huh? Entering where?"
One Day, I Picked Up a Ninja—the ero manga I just read. Changing the ending means going inside to do it?
'At least explain how...'
No time for more thoughts—my vision went white.
Streetlights flickered on the way home. In the quiet night, only cicadas chirped like meshing gears.
The usual route back. The hospital was under 20 minutes on foot, so I enjoyed the walk for health.
Then I stopped dead. A slight headache spiked into agony. Clutching my head, I collapsed.
"Urk!"
Even groaning, questions swirled. Sudden pain like this—what, a burst aneurysm?
No warning symptoms. Blood pressure normal.
'But... these memories...?'
Foreign memories overlaid. Awakening, Hunter, 22 years old, Yoon Jiseung. Nonsense.
They sharpened. My sense of self submerged. No—what foreign? No, I'm clearly...
"Puha!"
I exhaled sharply. Worst headache ever. After deep breaths, I stood, dusting off, clicking my tongue.
"So 'entering' meant this. Full possession of the protagonist."
Japanese flowed naturally from my mouth. Good—no world info worries. Ero manga lack setting bibles anyway.
"Not bad, though."
I knew Sato Kenji's life inside out. Felt like reincarnation: lived as him, now past-life memories awakened.
But the body was mine. Wallet ID confirmed.
'That's... my face?'
My body, his identity. Ability effect, probably. No trouble with locals noticing changes.
'Timing matches manga's start.'
Route home surfaced naturally. Decades of muscle memory.
"...System."
Sudden fear—I called it. What if dropped here permanently?

Tutorial in Progress
Exit? (Progress saved)
"Phew."
False alarm. I'm Yoon Jiseung from Korea, not just Sato Kenji. Can leave anytime, progress saved. Relieved.
Steps led home: neat two-story detached house. Doctor-level income only.
By the gate, a woman in ninja garb slumped against the wall.
The kunoichi. This world's heroine. I clicked my tongue, approaching.
"...Way worse state than in the manga."

Her body teetered, ready to topple.
Left hand clutched her wounded side. Blood seeped through fingers, soaking black clothes, pooling long on the ground.
"Haa, haa..."
She noticed me mid-ragged breaths, eyes lifting. Like a beast alert despite injury.
Biting pain back, she moved. Forcing up in that state would worsen it. I spoke quick.
"Move now, and you'll bleed out, pass out, then die."
She froze, glaring. Sharp eyes. But I knew she lacked dagger strength.
Hands up to head level, signaling no threat, I said,
"As you see, I'm a doctor. White coat? Don't know your deal, but don't push it."
"Mind your own business."
Her tone icy.
"How can a doctor ignore a patient? Especially in front of my house."
I shrugged past her, unlocking the gate. Heavy iron swung easy.
Her pupils dilated. Didn't expect luxury like this mine.
"Not a hospital, but I got emergency supplies. Come in. I'll treat you."
"...Why should I trust you?"
Manga-exact reaction. No need to recall lines—I am Yoon Jiseung and Sato Kenji.
Casual,
"No choice, right? Hate cleanup if you die here. Investigation hassle."
Silence, then a nod. She tried rising—groaned, collapsed.
"You don't listen. I said don't move alone."
I slung her arm over my neck, supporting her up. She startled, shoving weakly—injury sapped strength.
"I-I can walk myself..."
"Just hold your wound. No blood packs in the house."
Led her inside, gate shut.
'Now it begins.'
Canon: tragic end for her. But with me? No way. Can't watch that.
'Female manga chars deserve happiness—that's how I roll.'
