After the Avengers: Labyrinth or Goblins?
After the credits rolled on Avengers 1, Tony patched up his wrecked Iron Man suit with a few temporary fixes and raced ahead to Stark Tower. Everyone else—except for Thor and the Hulk—followed a little later aboard the Quinjet.
"Barton, you feeling better now?"
"Ugh, Jin... I don't even have the face to look at you."
"It couldn't be helped. Let's put it behind us and handle the rest properly."
"Yeah. Nothing's gonna feel right until I plant an arrow right in that smug Loki bastard's face."
We kept flying toward Stark Tower. By the time Tony arrived first, he found Loki waiting inside and immediately shed the armor.
"Appealing to my emotions?"
"No. This is a threat."
"You shouldn't remove your suit if you plan to fight me."
"That thing's already scrap. Drink?"
"With the Chitauri on their way, what exactly should I be afraid of?"
"The Avengers," Tony replied.
Loki tilted his head at the unfamiliar term.
"That's what we call ourselves. A team, basically. Earth's mightiest heroes."
Loki sneered. "I met them. They weren't impressive."
"We were a little out of sync earlier, that's all. Let's count heads. You're alone. We've got a half-god—your brother—a super soldier, me (I break everything when I get angry), two assassins, and one exchange student who can wipe an island off the map with a single kick."
"I have an army."
"And we've got the Hulk. They'll be here soon. How do you plan to stop us?"
"Damn it... if I hadn't lost the scepter... Still, it doesn't matter. The Chitauri invasion is a foregone conclusion. No one can stop it. Everyone dies. Starting with you!"
Loki seized Tony by the throat and hurled him through the window. But before Tony could fall far, his new suit streaked in and locked around him.
"And there's one more person you pissed off... His name is Phil."
Piiing—BOOM!!
The repulsor blast slammed into Loki. At the same moment the portal tore open and the Chitauri invasion began in earnest.
Our group arrived late to New York. The city had already become a warzone. Tony was fighting alone against the endless tide pouring from the portal, but it wasn't enough. Our arrival bought him precious time.
Dozens of enemies went flying from my kick. I quickly scooped up two or three of every type of Chitauri weapon scattered on the ground and stored them in my inventory. One staff-like weapon that fired laser projectiles and delivered electric shocks looked especially useful, so I made sure to grab it for Nami when we eventually returned to the One Piece world.
"They just keep coming."
More Chitauri were sent flying or smashed to the ground. Then came the roar of a Leviathan as a massive whale-like creature swam through the sky.
KWAAAAAANG!!
As we thinned out the first wave, Loki committed every remaining soldier. The numbers swelled far beyond the initial assault. Tony tried to finish a Leviathan with his new laser, but it wasn't enough. He flew inside the beast and detonated missiles from within, blowing it apart.
The sheer volume of enemies was wearing everyone down. When Thor finally appeared he was staggering—Loki must have stabbed him. Banner arrived on a rattling scooter that looked ready to collapse at any second. Captain radioed Stark.
> Stark! Doctor Banner has arrived.
> Gift incoming—tell him to get ready.
"Gift?"
From far away, Iron Man was leading a Leviathan straight toward us. Captain glanced at Banner.
"Doctor Banner, you don't need to hold it in anymore."
"That's my secret, Captain... I'm always angry."
The Leviathan's spine snapped like a twig. Iron Man pumped missiles into its exposed belly and the creature detonated in a spectacular fireball. The furious Chitauri forces encircled us, screaming. With another earth-shaking roar from the Hulk, we formed a perfect circle—just like the iconic scene from the movie—and stared down the enemy horde.
Following Captain's orders, Iron Man took to the air, Hawkeye tracked enemy movements and provided covering fire, and Thor hurled lightning at the portal. Natasha and Captain focused on helping civilians evacuate on the ground. Captain looked at me and the Hulk.
"Hulk! Smash everything!"
"Jin! Don't hold back—go wild!"
I flashed him a grin. The Hulk and I split up and began our rampage. I tore through enemies using Renewal Taekwondo. When it looked like Hawkeye's shot would send Loki crashing onto Stark Tower, I grabbed one of Hammer's drones and rode it up to wait.
I felt the Hulk leaping toward us through Observation Haki. Eight Inner Gates, First Gate—Opening! Combined with Renewal True Spin Kick—
Loki flew like a ragdoll. The Hulk roared, leaped, and smashed him square in the back mid-flight. Loki slammed into a wall and lost consciousness.
I grinned at the Hulk.
I poked Loki a few times to confirm he was still breathing, then headed to the rooftop where Selvig and the portal device waited.
> Arrived at the portal. Should I close it?
I radioed to keep Natasha away and waited for Captain's order.
> Close it!
> Wait—nuclear missile inbound! Do NOT close the portal!!
Tony caught the incoming nuke, changed course, and flew straight into the portal. I prepared to store the device in my inventory and, just in case, pulled out Loki's scepter. The moment Tony guided the missile into the Chitauri mothership, Captain gave the order. I stored the portal device.
It went in cleanly. The portal began to collapse. I stored the scepter, picked up the unconscious Selvig, detonated a Hammer drone nearby to fake being blasted by the shockwave, and flew toward Tony's office.
> Jin!! What happened?
> Energy overload from closing the portal. Looks like it exploded. I'm not hurt though.
I set Selvig down gently, walked over to Loki, and sat on his stomach while I waited for the rest of the team.
"What about the Tesseract?"
"I don't know. It might have been destroyed in the explosion. I can't see it anywhere."
Soon the Hydra agents disguised as SHIELD's Strike team arrived. When both the scepter and Tesseract were nowhere to be found, they left empty-handed. They searched me too, but of course found nothing.
We accepted Tony's suggestion to eat shawarma. It was absolutely disgusting.
A few days later Thor took Loki back to Asgard (Heimdall opened the Bifrost since the Tesseract was gone), and Banner left with Tony. I invited Natasha for a drink but got turned down again. At least this time she said we'd do it another day.
When I got home I looked at the mountain of Chitauri weapons, Loki's scepter, and the Tesseract in my inventory and couldn't help laughing.
"Kuhahahahahahaha!"
"Honestly I wasn't planning to steal any Infinity Stones, but I just... hehet!"
"Let's take our time and think it over! We gained a lot today and we won the fight, so we should end on a high note!"
With that, the Avengers scenario was officially complete. I chatted with the viewers about our future plans.
"I'm wrapping up the MCU for now and heading to a different world for a while. I haven't decided where yet. Any suggestions for the next world's concept?"
"I'm thinking fantasy no matter what."
"Should I go all in?"
The donations after my last all-in had reached about eight million won—enough for roughly four ten-pulls. Time to roll.
…
The decent pulls were Stealth [D], Provoke [E], Acceleration [E], and Sexual Intercourse [F]. Clean and Light were too valuable to sell, so I kept those six and sold everything else. I was about to roll again with the remaining money when I realized I would mostly be fighting hand-to-hand except for my Zanpakuto, so I switched to an item pull hoping for something like a gauntlet. I still had about three million won from reselling.
"Huh? There's a proper way?"
"Really? Let's try it."
Legendary Grade Weapon
"A League item?"
I activated Sage's Eye to check the weapon's full stats.
Damage on hit +50%
Ignores 20% of opponent's defense
Attack speed +20%
Stealth attack damage +50%
Stealth attack speed +30%
An assassin's blade that grows stronger in the shadows. One strike from stealth is usually enough to end a fight.
"This thing's completely broken. One stealth hit and it's basically a one-shot, right?"
"Should I keep rolling? The assassin concept looks pretty good..."
After some discussion with the chat I decided to stop for now. "If it doesn't work out I'll roll again later. See you next stream!"
Play session terminated.
Affinity with character Natasha Romanoff increased to LV 2.
Affinity with character Steve Rogers increased to LV 1.
Affinity with character Thor increased to LV 2.
Affinity with character Darcy Lewis increased to LV 6.
Affinity with character Clint Barton increased to LV 1.
Acquiring two Infinity Stones this time had changed the original story far more than I'd expected. The advantage of knowing the plot had mostly vanished. I'd need to prepare even more thoroughly from now on.
I left the play world, casually uploaded a photo to Instagram like always, then opened the list of available worlds.
Ghost Go King, New World, The Fighting, Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World, Yu-Gi-Oh, Mukhyang.
I skipped Ghost Go King since I couldn't play Go. New World was my favorite Korean noir, but I didn't see a role I could take. The Fighting could be fun as a boxing champion, and the female characters were nice, but...
Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World... that was my ultimate dream. No one who had seen those illustrations or read the manga could avoid feeling jealous of the protagonist. My own personal beast-girl slaves... Yu-Gi-Oh didn't even register anymore. Mukhyang looked good for an assassin playthrough, but who cared about that? Harem was obviously the priority!
I selected Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World. Now I just had to decide whether to jump straight there or finally visit the Goblin Slayer world I'd left on standby last time. Both were tempting, both had low difficulty, and if I ignored the setting and story, both had plenty of attractive female characters.
"I'm going crazy... both of them look so good..."
