Second Playthrough World: MCU
The moment I returned from the playthrough world, a strange heaviness settled over my body. Despite the overflowing power I’d felt inside the game, my limbs now felt sluggish, like they were weighed down by lead. I decided to do a quick check before heading back in and opened the relationship list first.
Character Luffy — Relationship LV1
Character Makino — Relationship LV1
Character Nami — Relationship LV4
Character Alvida — Relationship LV6
After thinking about it, it made sense. Luffy and Makino, who I’d only spent a day or two with in Foosha Village, were both at level 1. Nami, whom I’d rescued from Arlong and recruited as a companion, was at level 3. But Alvida, who I’d only known for two days yet had slept with multiple times, had shot up to level 6. It seemed the depth of the relationship mattered far more than the amount of time spent together.
I realized I probably wouldn’t be able to raise Nami’s level too high before she got older, but there was still platonic love and plenty of time. I decided to take things slow and steady with her.
“This feels pretty similar to the original story… but there really aren’t any playthrough levels or playthrough points, huh? So does that mean the only way to get new playthrough worlds is through the gacha?”
Thanks to the extra playthrough access ticket I’d drawn earlier, I could enter one more world. I tapped on the playthrough list.
> Available Worlds
> Naruto
> MCU
> My Hero Academia
> Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint
> Tower of God
> Tazza
>
> Current Active Playthroughs
> 1. One Piece (Time Frozen)
> 2. Empty
Looking at the slightly changed list, I realized the options were randomized. I scanned through them carefully.
“After spending three months at sea, I really want to go to a modern world now. The modern ones are MCU, My Hero Academia, Omniscient Reader, and Tazza, right? My Hero Academia is modern but the heroines don’t really appeal to me… Omniscient Reader is basically an apocalypse setting… pass. Tazza has some insanely beautiful actresses, but it’s set in the past… So I guess MCU is the only real choice?!”
Having decided on the MCU, I pulled up the list of characters I could possess.
1. Park Woojin
Age: 20, Male
Korean international student, freshman at MIT.
Comes from a wealthy family—parents are executives at a major Korean corporation.
Fluent in English. Majoring in AI and computer engineering.
2. Jayden Lee
Age: 29, Male
Korean-American living in New York. A villain with the ability Shadow Concealment.
Can completely hide his presence and appearance in darkness or at night.
Grew up poor, worked odd jobs, turned to petty theft after gaining his powers.
3. Pepper Potts
Age: 32, Female
Tony Stark’s secretary. Extremely competent.
Handles Tony’s schedule and personal affairs.
Eventually becomes his lover.
“Why do female characters keep showing up? Is the system trying to turn me into a girl or something? Anyway, Shadow Concealment isn’t that powerful, and there’s no real difference in base abilities, so I’ll go with number one.”
“I choose number one, Park Woojin.”
Would you like to begin your playthrough in the MCU world?
“Yes! Start one week before Tony Stark gets kidnapped.”
— Beginning playthrough —
When I entered the 2010 New York of the playthrough world, I confirmed I was in the studio apartment my character lived in and immediately turned on the stream.
Stream Title: Second Trip
Viewer Count: 340,000
- Jinha!
- Jinha
- yo
- Huh? Where is this?
- The room looks modern??
The number of viewers flooding in right from the start caught me off guard, but I stayed calm, greeted everyone, and began explaining.
“Why are there so many viewers today?? This is insane… Oh! Right now we’re in New York, 2010. My name here is Park Woojin. Obviously my last name isn’t actually Park, but that’s the setting.”
- Wait, New York…? No way…
- Masaka…
- Are we gonna see Natasha???
I was impressed that the viewers instantly figured out where we were from just the hint “New York.” I opened my status window while thinking about what to do next.

“You guys have crazy intuition, huh? Yes, we’re inside the Marvel universe. And it’s based on the movies, not the comics. This time I’m planning to join the Avengers and live as a hero. Should I stick with the Zanpakuto like in One Piece? Or should I keep rolling the gacha until I get something better?”
- Since you don’t know what you’ll get, using the Zanpakuto doesn’t seem bad?!
- Nah, if you’re in a superhero world you gotta have superpowers, not a sword
- You can make clones and open portals with the fruit, isn’t that enough?
- Superpowers are fine but beating people up with fists isn’t very cool
- But who knows when you’ll get the skill you want? You’ll just waste money
“Hold on. System, can I sell skills or items I got from the gacha?”
> Yes. Skills and items obtained from gacha can be refunded at 50% of the original draw cost.
“So if I drew ten for 900,000 won, selling one gives me 50,000? Or 45,000?”
> For bundle draws of 10, each item refunds at half of 90,000 won — 45,000 won each.
“Then let’s sell the useless ones and keep rolling until I get what I want. You all know what time it is, right?!”
- Oh here comes the money begging again lololol
Use this to roll for skills!
“Huh? 100 million won???? MarvelKorea, you’re not actually someone from Marvel, are you?”
- Probably real ㄷㄷ
- This stream was on the news last night. It’s gone global, that’s why viewers suddenly exploded
- But can foreigners understand Korean?
- It sounds like English to me?
- I’m Japanese and it sounds like Japanese
- Auto translation????
I was surprised to hear the stream had made the news and gone worldwide, but thinking about it, it would’ve been weirder if a live broadcast from inside a fictional world didn’t blow up. The automatic translation that let foreigners hear everything in their own language was interesting, but I just accepted it and moved on.
“Anyway, thank you to MarvelKorea for the huge donation! Shall we start the rolls?”
Premium 10-roll = 900,000 won
Flash—!
Swordsmanship [F] x7
Marksmanship [F] x2
Three Talents Sword Technique [F]
“………What the hell? Is this bugged??”
- lolololololololololol
- 900k down the drain in one shot
- 7 swordsmanship skills holy shit lol
- Told you your luck had been too good lately
The duplicate skills didn’t even rank up my existing ones, so they just sat separately in the list. I kept only one Marksmanship [F] and sold everything else.
From there, the gacha session didn’t stop.
Some time later…

“Haa… gacha really is terrible for your mental health…”
- Spending nearly 100 million in 10 minutes is definitely bad for you lol
- Still got some decent pulls (fact: 47 swordsmanship skills) lol
- I get most of them but what the hell is Death God Martial Arts?
- It’s from an old Korean manhwa called Cheonlang Yeoljeon. The protagonist’s martial art.
- First time hearing about it. Looked it up on Namu Wiki — it’s almost 30 years old?!
- Anyone who knows this must be at least mid-30s lol old men
“I don’t know it either, but is it any good? I have the knowledge in my head after pulling the skill, but I can’t tell how strong it actually is…”
- It’s the strongest broken martial art in its world
- Since this is based on reality I’ll read the manhwa later
- With Death God Martial Arts and Renewal Taekwondo you can go clone + hand-to-hand route
- A hero who fights with Taekwondo… someone get the crowd!
- So much national pride lol
- I know karate but what’s Taekwondo?
- Go back to Japan!
- No I’m seriously just curious!
- It’s an Olympic sport
- That’s regular Taekwondo lol this is the Renewal Taekwondo of old man Jin Taejin
After the gacha session finally ended, I left the viewers arguing in chat and killed time by rereading Cheonlang Yeoljeon and Yeolhyeol Gangho. There was still about a week left before Tony Stark would be kidnapped.
