I'm a Fucking Idiot
I froze, completely speechless after Yena's surprise bird kiss. She narrowed her eyes at me.
"Ugh... ow!"
Tears welled up. I'd bitten my tongue. I was so flustered I couldn't even speak properly.
"Agh... ahh..."
"Yeah... ugh... th-thanks... I gue-guess..."
When I nodded, Yena grabbed both my cheeks and squished them together, forcing me to look her in the eyes. Those beautiful eyes. It felt like my breath was being stolen away. I hadn't even activated Archer's Focus, yet the world seemed to slow down.
Yena's expression was serious at first. Then it suddenly shifted into something full of mischief.
"........."
I must be an idiot. No, I am an idiot. I think I gave her the dumbest smile in the entire world when I answered.
"Hehe... good."
The bold Yena from moments ago vanished, replaced by the shy, embarrassed version again.
"This girl really has no filter."
Right then, Junsik returned holding Jiyeong's hand.
His stride was full of the confidence of a man who'd achieved every goal he'd set for himself. When our eyes met, Jiyeong shyly looked down.
We got into formation to head out—Junsik at the front, Yena on his right, me on his left, and Jiyeong in the back. She gave me a little nudge and whispered.
I had no choice but to play dumb. I just pulled her into a gentle hug and said,
"Yeah..."
"Okay, honey. Thank you... I'll tell you everything tonight."
Jiyeong looked at me with touched eyes. They were a little watery. After the moved Jiyeong returned to her position, I thought to myself alone.
Logically speaking, Junsik having physical contact with Jiyeong? It's fine. I'd already come to that conclusion a while ago.
But why the hell do I feel so complicated? It's completely natural. She's my wife. When my wife gets touched by another man who's not me, and I'm watching it happen right in front of me, of course! Of course I'd get angry and feel a sense of deprivation!
Then why the hell does it turn me on? Is this even a normal emotion? Am I crazy?
This doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense, but looking at the results, it does turn me on. Is it because of the trait? No. This was happening even before the trait appeared. The trait is just a consequence. The trait appeared because I was getting turned on.
So I have no choice but to accept it. That I get excited when Junsik touches Jiyeong...
Even if it doesn't make sense, I have to accept it like this.
And now there's a new reason my heart has changed.
Yena. Kim Yena. Junsik's wife. A female friend I've known even longer than my own wife, Jiyeong.
After we started the game, she went from being a friend to someone I saw as a woman.
I already knew Junsik was being extremely aggressive with Jiyeong. That's just how he is with women. He always finds excuses to touch them one more time, to try for a kiss. Even touching Jiyeong's ass this time was something he got after a tremendous amount of effort.
Then I'll do the same. I'll want Yena too.
The feelings I've been suppressing... I'll acknowledge them.
You have entered the 'Abandoned Temple'.
Clean the Abandoned Temple.
📍 Progress: Floor 1 / Total 5 Floors
Stepping inside the tower, the interior was much larger than it looked from outside. A single kobold stood there.
Enhanced Kobold
They really named it that half-assedly. Junsik looked disappointed as he spoke.
That bastard just raised a death flag, didn't he?
- Awooooooo~
Kobolds are wolf-type monsters. And wolves? They live in packs. Meaning a lone kobold isn't actually alone. The moment the Enhanced Kobold let out its howl, several more kobolds were summoned around it.
Thanks to Junsik (?), we started fighting over a dozen kobolds. Yena looked at the kobolds and said,
Yena floated up into the air and began casting spells while flying around. Her skirt was completely exposed underneath, but this wasn't the time to stare. It was a shame I couldn't admire Yena's pink underneath, but right now I had to focus on firing arrows and every skill I had to clear out the trash mobs.
- Boom!
The Enhanced Kobold attacked Junsik's mana shield, and the impact was no joke. There was no way a monster guarding the first floor of an abandoned temple in the middle of a remote forest would be easy.
- Awooooooo~!
Damn it. We'd just finished off the weak kobolds, and that bastard summoned more. It looked like it would keep summoning underlings until it was on the verge of death. In that case, I'd leave the small fries to Yena and focus on smashing the boss's head.
Why does she choose words like that? They don't match her pretty face at all. It feels like she's constantly teasing me. Must be my imagination.
Sniper Shot (Active)
Mana Cost: 50 per second, max 500 / Cooldown: 1 minute
Description: Summons and fires a mana arrow. Can charge for up to 10 seconds before firing. Damage increases proportionally to mana charged (up to 10x). After charging for 5 seconds or more, the arrow flies without sound or visible trail, ignoring wind resistance. Cannot benefit from additional arrow skills, but Piercing Arrow effect is guaranteed at 100%. Learned at level 15.
Ten seconds is quite a long time in the middle of combat.
I activated Sniper Shot, aimed at the Enhanced Kobold's head, and focused. In front of me, the Enhanced Kobold was smashing down on Junsik.
- Boom! Boom! Boom!
Junsik barely blocked the Enhanced Kobold's attacks using Warrior's Eye and Shield Charge as he spoke.
Warrior's Eye (Passive)
Description: When an enemy attacks, the starting point of the attack glows golden to allow preemptive defense. Learned at level 10.
Shield Charge (Active)
Mana Cost: None / Cooldown: None
Description: Swings a shield to deal damage to an enemy. If used at the perfect timing to counter an incoming attack, it builds Groggy. At 100% Groggy, the enemy is stunned for 5 seconds and takes 50% more damage while stunned. Learned at level 10.
Jiyeong could store up to three heals, but Junsik had already asked for one. That left two. The one she just used would recharge in ten minutes.
"Okay."
Junsik's Weak Point Detection skill showed me exactly where to hit.
Weak Point Detection (Passive)
Description: Marks the opponent's weak points. Critical hit chance triples when attacking weak points. Learned at level 15.
But honestly, I always just aim for the head on every mob. Is Weak Point Detection even useful? Well, there might be monsters whose weak point isn't the head, so yeah, it has meaning. There could be tentacle monsters, after all.
The ten seconds were almost up.
I activated Archer's Focus, slowing the world for two seconds. In that slowed world, I quickly glanced at the pink treasure under Yena's skirt, then fired the Sniper Shot at the Enhanced Kobold's head with a happy feeling.
- KWAaaaang!
I thought since it was a wolf, it'd make a yelping sound like a dog, but the Enhanced Kobold slowly turned its blown-apart head back toward me and glared.
Wow, that look in its eyes. It's fucking terrifying...
But Junsik was holding the line solidly, so I wasn't too worried.
I ignored Junsik's dumbfounded words and spammed every skill whose cooldown was back up. While I used up all thirty arrows and reloaded, I stole another glance under Yena's skirt... Ah, it's so beautiful. I looked back at the Enhanced Kobold and said,
Jiyeong healed Junsik again, bringing his health from 20% up to 70%. When the ten-second charge for the next Sniper Shot was almost done, I activated Archer's Focus again. In the slowed world, I stole another peek under Yena's skirt before firing the shot. For some reason, it feels like I'd be losing out if I didn't look at Yena's there. Just looking at it is so beautiful. Do pretty girls have pretty parts down there too?
- KWAaaaang!
The Enhanced Kobold had about 40% health left. But the way it was glaring at me was no joke. It must be pissed that I kept smashing its head so hard. Well, too bad. I fired arrows rapidly and shouted,
"Sh... sh-shoot..."
Damn it. Getting called an idiot by an actual idiot.
"I-I'm not scared!"
I'm not scared. It's just that the thing is a little scary, that's all.
