Yes, hello.
This is Like Peppermint Candy.
Today, with Chapter 330, "My Stepmom Is Too Pretty, So I'm Worried" has finally come to an end.
Last summer? I think it was around the time I was finishing my first semester at university when I started this story, and now, as I've entered my second year, it's wrapping up.
Roughly a year?
Yeah, I've poured nearly a year into this work.
I'm truly grateful to everyone who read through all those chapters and stories.
Honestly, as I kept serializing it, there were quite a few parts that even I felt were lacking.
It's natural to feel some regrets no matter what story you write.
Every time I wrote and approached what should have been a highlight, those regrets piled up.
In my view, the childhood episodes dragged on a bit unnecessarily, and even the academy parts had some superfluous content.
It was only after painstakingly building up to it that the protagonist, Camellia, reached adulthood—and that became the story's climax.
Of course, I was somewhat satisfied with the parts after she became an adult... but that didn't erase the earlier shortcomings.
That's why, once we entered the adult arc, I deliberately picked up the pace a little.
I also tried to cut back on dragging the story out like before.
Of course, since I tend to stretch things anyway, some of that probably lingered.
Still, I feel proud that I managed to wrap it up nicely in my own way.
Sure, if I kept going, I could add way more episodes... but I think ending the main story here is much better.
I could write side stories or extras, but I don't think I can right now.
I started serializing a new work for a contest season, and I have other projects to work on too... Doing three updates a day was seriously, seriously tough.
Back in high school, I often handled three simultaneous serializations, but writing three at once just ends up hurting the quality in various ways, so no plans for extras anytime soon.
Anyway... the bottom line is, thank you so much.
I'm truly grateful to everyone who read my work, left comments, and gave me feedback.
Even though it was a story full of shortcomings and regrets, the fact that you stuck with it through 330 chapters, always commenting and sharing reactions— I can only say thank you.
This is my seventh completion since I first started writing, but finishing always feels strangely bittersweet.
Writing this afterword does too.
Maybe because it really feels like I'm closing the book on everything I've written so far?
Thank you so much to all you readers who've stuck with me.
I'm so grateful it's beyond words.
There were times when mental fatigue—not physical—hit me hard while writing, but thanks to you all, I was able to finish this long tale of 330 chapters.
I don't think I could have kept going so steadily without you.
Once more, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Thank you to everyone who's read this far.
Thank you for reading, and someday, I'll strive to deliver something even more enjoyable than this.
Thank you always!
I love you all...!!!
