Prologue: 1 in 28,000
I died after being struck by lightning. 1/28,000. That was the probability I had beaten. And so I was transferred to a new world. In the body of a young girl.
At first I was stunned. Not only had I been transported to another world, but I had reincarnated into the body of a girl. Yet as time passed I gradually grew accustomed to it and began to take in my surroundings.
The girl had been an ordinary gypsy. A perfectly normal orphan gypsy who earned her daily bread through fortune-telling. What was a parentless young girl supposed to do in a strange new world? I simply carried on exactly as she had, wandering as a gypsy and reading fortunes to survive.
Time slipped by like that until my birthday.
Is this… a door?
Could it possibly lead back to the Earth I once knew?
I hesitated. If this door didn’t connect to Earth but instead opened onto an even more dangerous world…
Does it even matter?
In this world I had no precious bonds, no lingering attachments. The only thing I truly feared was death itself. I needed some kind of insurance.
I gazed at the clouds drifting lazily across the sky.
Today’s lucky color is white…
I plucked a daisy blooming by the roadside, then stepped through the gate.
Thankfully I arrived safely back on Earth.
As a test I turned on the stream. This was only my second broadcast.
How on earth did it end up like this? Oh, right—I need to ban the idiot who just called me a prophet.
