Chapter 186: Drunk
Chapter 186: Drunk
“It’s very hard to understand what kind of person he really is. Gentle, overbearing, cautious, frivolous, indulgent, womanizing, domineering, cynical, extraordinarily talented, full of wicked humor… In short, you can see all kinds of qualities in him. And after spending enough time with him, you’ll realize that no matter what you do, it’s very difficult to gain even a bit of confidence from him. Back when Pretty Woman had just premiered, I thought, ah, I succeeded, I became a Hollywood star, I really succeeded, didn’t I, Liz…” Julia narrowed her eyes slightly and looked uncertainly at the woman beside her.
“Of course, Julia, of course you succeeded.” Elisabeth picked up where the woman left off while quietly taking the wineglass from Julia’s hand. She signaled to a passing waiter, swapped it for a glass of juice, and stuffed it into Julia’s hands.
Although Eric had just exposed her identity, Elisabeth sincerely apologized to Julia, and the slight barrier that had formed between them quickly disappeared. Because of Eric’s words, Julia felt very upset inside, so she unknowingly drank several more glasses, which led to her current drunken state. Perhaps because she had drunk too much, Julia’s mental defenses had also weakened considerably, and she began endlessly pouring out all sorts of stories about herself and Eric to Elisabeth.
Dazedly taking the glass Elisabeth handed her, the woman took a fierce gulp of the liquid inside, seemingly not noticing that the red wine had been replaced. In a half-drunk, half-awake tone, she continued, “I… I thought I’d succeeded, and then I got piles of movie offers. Salaries worth several million dollars. Several million dollars… I never even dared dream of that before. But that… that hateful bastard rejected all of them without even discussing it with me. I angrily went to argue with him. Then he scolded me so mercilessly… until… until I cried right in front of him before he finally stopped. Heh, I always wanted to act a little prouder in front of him, a little… more confident. But he can always make you unable to hold your head up high with just one simple sentence… or even just a look. He’s gotten me to the point where… I can’t even get a boyfriend anymore. Whenever I want to date some guy, he always jumps out of my mind and starts criticizing him, tearing the poor guy down until he’s completely worthless.”
With drunken eyes, the woman took another gulp of juice and suddenly laughed at herself mockingly. “But… but just now, he actually said, ‘What does this have to do with Julia?’ Ha, what a jerk. What does it have to do with me? What does it have to do with me…”
“Alright, Julia, you’re drunk. How about I take you home?” Seeing signs that the woman might completely lose control, Elisabeth gently coaxed her. Generally, drunk people had to be humored if you wanted them to obediently cooperate.
“Mhm, home, I want to go home. I don’t want to see that bastard ever again.” Julia suddenly stood up, but dizziness hit her and she collapsed back onto the sofa. Elisabeth hurriedly supported Julia’s body. Only after the woman regained some awareness did Elisabeth help her slowly stand again.
Allen found Eric, who was talking with Herbert Ross, and quietly whispered a few words into his ear. Eric glanced toward the banquet hall entrance, apologized to Herbert Ross, and walked in that direction.
“What happened, Julia? How did you drink this much?” Eric looked displeased at the woman being supported by Elisabeth, then glanced around. “Where’s Allison? Where is she?”
Allison was Julia’s petite freckled assistant.
“N-no need for you to care. I’ll drink however much I want.” Seeing Eric suddenly appear before her, Julia exaggeratedly waved an arm around, her voice becoming much louder. “You’re trying to control me again. What right do you have to control me?”
“Shut up. Do you want news about you getting drunk and making a scene to spread tomorrow?” Eric glared at the woman and looked around. Quite a few people had already noticed the commotion, so he quickly motioned for Elisabeth to help Julia out of the banquet hall. Only after reaching the empty corridor did he finally relax.
“Where’s Allison? I’ll have her take you home,” Eric asked again.
The woman lowered her head and pouted aggrievedly. Perhaps she had just been frightened by Eric’s shouting and glare, or perhaps she had recovered some rationality. “Allison’s on vacation. She stayed with me in that Southern town for several months and… and couldn’t adapt to the environment. She got sick.”
Eric sighed and said to the assistant behind him, “Allen, drive Julia home.”
Just as Allen was about to answer, Elisabeth interrupted, “I’ll do it instead. This gentleman is still a man after all, so it’s not very convenient. Julia drank quite a lot and will definitely need someone to take care of her.”
“You…” Eric looked suspiciously at Elisabeth, then at Julia.
“I want… I want Liz to take me. Not him… stinky men. All you stinky men!” Julia seemed to grow muddled again. Hugging Elisabeth’s arm tightly, she softly leaned against her.
Allen awkwardly shrugged. Seeing Julia’s state, Eric had no choice but to say, “Then I’ll trouble you, Liz. Do you know Julia’s apartment address?”
“I know, I know. 11070 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills.” The woman leaning against Elisabeth reflexively raised one hand like an elementary school student enthusiastically answering a teacher’s question, her tone carrying a somewhat adorable innocence.
Eric shrugged and smiled at Elisabeth. “Well, now you know. I’ll take you downstairs.”
As the elevator slowly descended, Eric occasionally glanced at the two women beside him, feeling rather strange inside. Although he had not known Elisabeth long, he still sensed a tomboyish aura from her. Could she possibly be a lesbian? If that were true, then tonight Julia might be…
The images in his mind became increasingly wicked, and a mischievous grin unconsciously curved onto Eric’s lips.
Fortunately, Elisabeth had been carefully supporting Julia and did not notice Eric’s strange expression. If she had known what he was thinking, she probably would have kicked him hard in the shin.
“My car’s over there. Hey, can’t you take the initiative to help a little? You’re not gentlemanly at all.” After leaving the elevator, Elisabeth pointed toward a red sports car parked in one corner of the garage. Feeling Julia sway unsteadily, she complained dissatisfiedly to Eric.
“Oh, sorry. I thought you could manage on your own.” Eric smiled and stepped forward to support Julia’s other arm. The two helped the woman over to the sports car. Leaning Julia against Eric, Elisabeth finally freed up enough space to pull out her keys and unlock the car.
After opening the rear door, Elisabeth turned around, about to signal Eric to help Julia inside, only to see the woman wrapped around Eric like a soft vine. With dazed eyes, Julia rubbed her cheek against Eric’s face and muttered incoherently, “Eric, mm… I dreamed about you again. Are you going to spank me again? You always spank my butt so hard, it hurts. And when I wake up in the morning, my panties are always wet. So embarrassing. Eric, can’t you be gentler with me? Kiss me, okay…”
Seeing Elisabeth’s stunned expression, Eric innocently raised both hands, letting the woman cling to him while feeling her damp little tongue occasionally lick his cheek. Powerlessly, he explained, “This… you understand, she’s drunk.”
Elisabeth quickly recovered. Silently, she pulled the woman off Eric and stuffed her into the back seat, slammed the car door shut with a bang, and got into the driver’s seat herself. Just as she started the car and was about to leave, she ultimately could not help lowering the window and saying to Eric, who had raised a hand to wave goodbye, “Mr. Williams, Julia was right. You really are a bastard!”
Watching the sports car speed away while a middle finger extended out the window, Eric bitterly rubbed his nose.
I really never spanked her!
Did I spank her?
No, right?
Could it be that I’m getting old and my memory’s failing?
…
Groggily opening her eyes, feeling as though someone had stuffed a giant rock into her head, Julia could not help lightly pounding her temples a few times before looking around.
Fortunately, this was her own bedroom.
She did not know whether to feel relieved or disappointed. It seemed she had drunk too much last night and dreamed about that guy again. She had even said a bunch of nonsense. Ah, luckily it was only in a dream, otherwise it would have been mortifying.
Supporting herself upright, she sat up in bed. The thin blanket slid down, exposing a pair of fair, soft breasts to the air. Because the air conditioner was on, a chill swept over her, causing the woman to instinctively cover her chest. Suddenly remembering something, she abruptly lifted the blanket.
Oh God, did that guy do something to her again?
The bedroom door lock clicked as it turned. Julia quickly pulled the blanket up to cover herself and widened her eyes toward the doorway.
Wearing only an oversized men’s shirt that exposed two fair long legs, a woman appeared at the door. Seeing Julia already sitting up, the woman smiled and greeted her, “Hi, Julia, you’re finally awake. Otherwise I would’ve had to interrupt your sweet dreams.”
“You…” Julia gradually recalled parts of last night. Remembering the woman’s identity, she forced out a smile. “Liz, good morning. Was it… was it you who brought me back?”
“Yep. You drank pretty heavily last night and even threw up several times. You got both my clothes and yours dirty, so I had no choice but to temporarily borrow something from your closet. You don’t mind, do you?” Elisabeth tugged lightly at the shirt she was wearing, vaguely revealing the white underwear at the top of her long legs.
“Of course I don’t mind. I should actually thank you,” Julia said. She quickly recognized the shirt Elisabeth was wearing. It was the one she had secretly kept long ago instead of returning to Eric. However, Elisabeth clearly had not realized it was men’s clothing, and Julia naturally would not point it out herself.
