The Bunny Girl Cafe
“Want to check this place out?”
I suggested to Irene that we step into the cafe that had piqued my curiosity.
She tilted her head.
“Bunny girl… cafe? What’s a bunny girl?”
She asked what a bunny girl was.
I shook my head.
“I don’t know either. That’s why I want to go in and find out.”
“Hmm… but it’s a cafe, right? Do they serve alcohol?”
“Judging by the picture of the drink on the sign, it looks like they do.”
There really was a drawing of a cup filled with alcohol right next to the entrance.
Irene and I kept debating out of curiosity.
“Hmm… It says ‘girl,’ so maybe it’s some kind of concept cafe or bar where women serve the customers…?”
After saying that, she shot me a suspicious look.
“Don’t tell me you’re suggesting we go in just so you can ogle other women?”
Her words poked straight at my conscience.
“No? I’m just curious, that’s all. If there are women, I won’t complain about the view, but that’s not the reason.”
“So you are going in to look at women!”
She grumbled, clearly jealous.
We kept bickering until she finally let out a long sigh.
“…Fine. Let’s go in. I’m curious too.”
“Oh, really? So I can look at the women?”
“Do whatever you want!”
She turned her head away sharply.
Do whatever I want?
That means I’m allowed to, right?
I grabbed the door handle, half excited and half nervous about what we might find inside.
And then—
“Welcome~! Come right in to the Bunny Girl Cafe!”
A group of women in revealing outfits greeted us.
Both Irene and I froze in shock.
The waitresses wore outfits that only covered their groins and nipples with small patches, leaving almost everything else exposed. They had bunny-ear headbands on their heads and were serving drinks while their lower bodies and arms were barely covered.
“A couple, are we? Please come in~”
“Uh… um…”
I never imagined it would be this kind of place.
We didn’t accidentally walk into a brothel, did we?
But a sign hanging inside the bar caught my eye.
[No touching the staff! Eyes only! This is a wholesome establishment that only sells alcohol and beverages!]
The contradiction of claiming to be a wholesome shop while employing staff dressed like this was hard to process.
I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the waitress’s chest. Or her groin. I didn’t even know where to look anymore.
Was it really okay to just stare like this?
“…What are you doing? Are you coming in or not?”
Irene pushed me from behind.
“Ah, right…”
Still dazed, I let her shove me inside, and she followed right after.
Most of the customers were men, though a few women had come in pairs as well.
Every single waitress wore the same revealing black outfit.
“Excuse me, I have a question…”
“Yes, Master. What can I do for you?”
Master?
They called customers that here?
From all around the cafe I could hear the waitresses addressing people as “Master Number Whatever.”
This was getting more confusing by the second.
Eye candy was nice, but I had no idea how to act.
Irene didn’t look particularly pleased either.
Or did she?
She was glancing around with obvious interest, so maybe she was just as curious as I was.
“Do all the staff here wear this outfit?”
“Yes! Isn’t it pretty? Our boss designed this masterpiece!”
The waitress bounced her chest as she spoke.
It really was a masterpiece.
“What do you call this outfit?”
“A bunny girl! That’s why the cafe is called the Bunny Girl Cafe!”
Ah… so that’s what “bunny girl” meant.
I nodded in understanding and looked down at the menu the waitress handed me.
‘These prices are ridiculous…’
They were easily double the usual cost, probably charging extra for the view. Even the non-alcoholic drinks were overpriced.
“…”
“Um… Irene? You okay?”
“Yeah. I’m fine.”
She answered in a flat tone.
Normally that meant she was sulking.
Should I just leave it alone?
“We can go somewhere else if you want…”
“No, let’s drink here. You like it, don’t you, Maurice? There are pretty women in sexy outfits.”
The waitress giggled behind her menu, her chest pressing against it.
“Well… I’ll have a beer and some chicken for snacks…”
“I’ll have a beer too.”
“Got it~ Two beers and one chicken coming right up~ Please wait just a moment~”
The waitress walked away, her bare backside fully visible.
Was it really okay to show that much?
Then again, after everything I’d already seen of Irene, maybe I wasn’t in a position to complain.
“…”
Irene rested her chin on one hand and alternated her gaze between me and the waitresses.
“Do you like it?”
“H-huh?”
“I asked if you like it.”
Her voice was terrifying.
I really shouldn’t have brought us here.
I shrank back without meaning to and lowered my eyes, trying not to provoke her.
“I mean… it’s nice, but…”
“Oh? It’s nice, but?”
“You seem like you hate it, so I feel bad. Ha, haha.”
“I don’t hate it? I like it too?”
She smiled.
I couldn’t tell if it was genuine or forced.
“…R-really?”
“Yeah! Look at their outfits. There’s a lot I can learn from them, right? I can figure out your tastes too, right? Maybe learn how to make you stare at me, right?”
Ah.
She really hated this.
I kept my head down.
“…Sorry. I should’ve picked a different place.”
“What are you sorry for?”
“For a lot of things…”
“A lot of things like what.”
“…”
“Here are your two beers, Master~”
The drinks arrived at the perfect moment.
I hadn’t known what to say anyway, so maybe alcohol would help.
Irene stared at her glass and let out a deep sigh.
She picked it up.
“…Sorry for getting so worked up over nothing.”
“…It’s fine. You had every right to.”
“Honestly, we walked in without knowing anything… I was too harsh on you.”
Then she smiled brightly.
This time it was a real smile, complete with crinkled eyes.
She really had let it go.
“Come on, let’s just drink! We should get properly drunk while we’re at it!”
She raised her glass for a toast, and I clinked mine against it with a smile.
*
“Ugh… Do you have any idea how annoying that was? Being a saintess means listening to everyone’s confessions…”
Once Irene got drunk, the complaints started pouring out.
“What kind of things did you hear? Sounds entertaining.”
I was feeling pleasantly tipsy myself, but Irene seemed even more intoxicated.
She’d already finished two glasses while I was still on my first.
“Hey, Maurice! Do you think confessions are fun?! I heard everything! Affairs with the neighbor’s sister, babies that actually belonged to the brother-in-law, priests who had kids despite their vows… and then there were the idiots who said they wanted to marry the saintess even though they knew she had to stay a virgin!”
“Pfft—! Hahaha! They wanted to marry you even though they knew saintesses have to remain virgins?”
“Exactly! And when I told them that, guess what they said?”
“What?”
“They called me a ‘know-it-all’ and stormed out!”
“What a bunch of lunatics. Hahahaha!”
“Seriously… And then there were the ones asking for investment advice or how to grow their money. Like I’m some kind of financial advisor. Ugh…”
She downed the rest of her drink in one go.
“Oh, right.”
Irene suddenly stood up.
“I need to go somewhere real quick. I’ll be back.”
“I don’t have to come with you, right? You’re really drunk.”
“Yesh, I’m going alone~”
“Alright, take care.”
She was definitely drunk if she was slurring and swearing.
After some time, she returned carrying a paper bag.
“What’s that?”
“The food here was good, so I got some to go.”
“Smart. Since we’ve finished drinking, should we head back to the inn?”
“Yeah, let’s do that.”
We paid and left the Bunny Girl Cafe.
“Drinking after so long feels great~”
Despite having only two glasses, Irene spread her arms wide and breathed in the night air.
She was walking just fine.
“Maurice~”
She linked her arm through mine.
“Those waitresses were pretty, but… they don’t compare to me, right?”
“…”
Well.
“Yeah.”
“Hehe… See?! No one can match the beauty I’ve perfected as a saintess~”
She laughed brightly and swung my arm.
“Maurice… The alcohol’s got me in a good mood tonight…”
She leaned in close and whispered into my ear.
“We’re doing it, right?”
“…We are.”
Honestly, after seeing all those sexy waitresses, I couldn’t hold back anymore.
I’d been hard ever since catching a glimpse of one waitress’s areola.
“Hehe~ Look forward to it~ Tonight’s going to be special.”
She gently touched my face.
It was always special with her anyway.
Either way, we returned to the inn.

“…How is it?”
Irene stood in front of me.
“You kept staring so hard, so I decided to try it on too.”
She was wearing the bunny girl outfit.

“…”
I couldn’t find the words.
“Does it suit me?”
I answered by getting rock hard.
Seeing my reaction, Irene smiled.
“…You like it.”
She lay down on the bed.
“What are you waiting for? Come here.”
