Collab Genius Myungtani
My mega mega mega hilarious joke had the chat completely losing its mind.
Just looking at the flood of vicious comments pouring in, I couldn't even begin to gauge how funny it must have been.
“Pfft….”
But for real though, I think it's hilarious.
Even now it's so funny I keep leaking laughter.
“Whaaaaat~ why? Honestly doesn't it slap? Then how about I try something else instead?”
“Ride the glacier. Hum hum. Actually rode a taxi. Hum hum. Get down. Hum hum. Actually go up… Pwahahahahahaha!”
The Myung chat exploded all over again.
Looking at the chat, there were actually a few comments saying it kinda slapped.
“Right? This is seriously mega mega mega funny, okay? If even an emotionless psychopath like me is laughing, you know it's actually funny.”
“Don't do it? Usually when people say don't do it I just wanna do it even more… Heh.”
The moment I said that, more “KRAAAAAAAGH,” “Don't do it you fucker lmao” and so on flooded in.
The Myungies desperately trying to stop me kept filling the chat.
This reaction was so gourmet it was addictive.
I almost wanted to keep watching the Myungies go “KRAAAAAAGH~” forever.
Of course, even while saying all that, there was zero chance I'd actually try weird jokes once Eris was here.
The rules a hakko has to follow when collabing with a big-corp streamer.
Rule number one: don't act up.
Rule number two: obey rule number one.
In other words, just quietly hop on the big-corp streamer's bus and ride.
But if I suddenly went full throttle here and hit them with “Dad hang in there Yonggari~”?
Instant Ice Age atmosphere.
Choking silence would descend for sure.
Today I'd just solidly share what needed sharing, answer their questions, laugh at the right moments… yeah yeah. That kind of position should be perfect.
While I was thinking all that, a donation came flying in.
And a super arrogant one at that.
“What. Whaaaaat… what do you mean I won't be able to say anything? I'm not that much of a bocchi, you know?”
“I said I'm not a bocchi? Augh.”
Hmm, these guys are unbelievable.
What do they even take me for when I managed to get a shitty job the moment I turned twenty. I've even been diligently working part-time lately.
Well, from a fan's perspective they probably want their VTuber to be a bocchi. That way she won't date, won't go outside, and will just stream forever.
“Okay~ I get it. I am a bocchi. A bocchi who never leaves the house and only streams… doodoo.”
“What 100 guys' numbers… Fufu. Just mega mega mega unhinged.”
While I was chatting about this and that with the Myungies.
“Ah, it's already time for the promise. Hopping into XCode.”
It hit 8 o'clock, our promised time, so I logged into XCode.
Ding.
“Ah, you're here. Hello Myung-i-nim~! Ah, should I call you Teacher? Heheh.”
The moment I entered, Eris's clear, refreshing voice rang out.
Looks like she got in first and was waiting.
If I'd known, I should've gone in a bit earlier.
“Hello Eris-nim. Yep, just call me whatever's comfortable.”
I answered moderately.
Today I was in Silent Myung mode, following the hakko principles.
But then….
“…….”
These guys must be insane.
Apparently my quiet answer didn't sit right with them, because the Myungies were spamming deadpan emotes all over the chat.
So what am I supposed to say at a first meeting then.
And what the hell is “hit a Yonggari”?
They hated it so much earlier and now this? Unbelievable.
But… hmm.
Maybe that answer just now was a bit stiff.
“Eris-nim, let me redo the greeting.”
“Neng?”
In the end I decided to do it over.
Ahem ahem.
I lightly cleared my throat and this time opened my mouth with energy.
“Nice-to-meet-eri~ Eris-nim I'm so happy to finally meet you like this-eri~”
“Y-yeah? Ni-nice-to-meet-eri~ But why are you doing it again?”
“I felt like my answer just now was way too stiff-eri~”
“A-ahahahahaha! I see. Mm-hmm. I didn't think it was that stiff though… Teacher you're so funny.”
“Thanks-eri~”
Hmph.
How's that?
I'd say I lifted the atmosphere pretty well with that. Over in their stream chat it's probably already flooded with “lmaoooooo,” “this person is funny lmao” for sure.
Hah… this crazy bastard RoomMyung.
Already trying to carry the collab? What are you gonna do with all that talent for real!
I immediately checked the chat with a smug look on my face.
Everyone was probably spamming “Kya” right about now….
“…….”
Kya my ass.
Just mega mega mega unhinged.
It's like a bunch of my mothers-in-law showed up in the chat.
Every time the Myungies do this I'm gonna get a full-blown neurosis.
Around the time I decided I should just ignore the chat moderately during the collab.
“Teacher, so about that.”
Eris spoke up.
“Yes?”
“The viewers in our room said Teacher is an aspiring VTuber, what does that mean? I've never heard that word before.”
“Ah… that. I still don't have the money to buy an avatar so aspiring….”
“Ah. I-I see! Ahahahaha….”
“…….”
For real I need to stop looking at the chat.
Too embarrassing. Gotta buy an avatar fast and peel off this aspiring sticker… ugh.
Anyway, we finished the simple introductions and jumped into the game.
“Eris-nim, what's your main?”
“I use Lili-chan!”
“Ohhh, my main is the same. Then how about we run a few online matches first? I need to know your level roughly.”
“Ah… th-that is.”
Eris hesitated like something was bothering her.
“Actually I'm so bad I lose to the beginner bot. Ugh.”
“Huh? How can you lose to the beginner bot….”
Just in case I told her to try the bot once and she actually lost. And 3-0 at that, completely dominated.
I could see the problem right away.
Not knowing a single combo was secondary—she had zero knowledge of offense turns and defense turns basically.
She just mashed buttons even while getting hit, so of course the bot beat her.
This won't do.
Time for Myung the Farming God who can even save beginner farms to sortie.
I jumped straight into solution mode.
“Hmm… first of all Eris-nim. When you're getting hit you should mostly not press buttons and just hold guard. Today I'll teach you a few freebies. There's a mid-low string called 3RKRK….”
Learning freebies first was priority over hard stuff like combos or damage calculation.
I dragged her into training mode and had her repeat 3RKRK and other beginner-friendly tools over and over. Once it was in the hands it'd come out in real matches.
For offense turns I explained it like a turn-based game.
So if you block the opponent's attack it's your turn to attack. If your attack gets blocked it's their turn. That kind of thing.
After finishing the training we faced the beginner bot again and the result….
“Kyaaaaaaaaaaah! Teacher I did it! I won! Heheheheh!”
Eris's character struck the victory pose.
It was a moving moment.
“Hmph, well I taught you so of course. Fufu.”
“Kya~ as expected of Teacher~ Ahaha.”
Yes, me. RoomMyung.
With insane coaching I let Eris taste the joy of her first win in just one hour.
…Of course she only just beat the beginner bot. There's still a long long way to go.
“Alright alright~ let's move on to the next training.”
“Huk… is there more to practice?”
“Of course. I'll teach you a simple combo so hop into practice mode right now.”
“Uuu….”
Fighting games need practice more than other games.
Some people even sink more hours into practice mode than online play for a reason.
Anyway, while I was teaching Eris a simple combo….
“No no, I told you to press right hand after that.”
“I did press it though….”
“Then why isn't it coming out-eri.”
“I don't know either-eri… euk.”
She really does have zero talent.
Even a simple combo keeps whiffing.
Still, the fact that she keeps repeating without giving up is something that makes me proud as a teacher… mm-hmm.
So we kept repeating in practice mode.
Repeating and repeating until eventually a slight empty stretch in the audio arrived.
Yeah, it was that kind of time.
“Myung-i-nim… I. Th-that, I saw it.”
Eris carefully spoke to me.
Thinking it was a question I answered casually.
“Neng? Saw what?”
“The posts Myung-i-nim wrote on the gallery back when I was still a hakko….”
“…….”
…Ah.
I'd forgotten about that.
