Chapter 26
Se-rang ended the meeting with Inha with a smile on her face until the very end, but the moment she left the building, her expression completely hardened.
Yeon Si-ho, you bastard. I’m really going to destroy you properly.
“Director, Representative Yeon’s whereabouts…”
“Did you find him?”
“Yes, I found him.”
Secretary Cha seemed slightly startled by Se-rang’s intensity, but she soon opened the car door for her.
At first, she wondered why she had suddenly asked him to find out where Yeon Si-ho was, but seeing Se-rang’s expression, he felt he could understand without even looking.
It seemed Yeon Si-ho had interfered with the contract with Kim Inha.
“Did the contract finish well?”
“This side is handled.” Se-rang answered as she closed the car door.
Secretary Cha quickly got into the driver’s seat. “That’s a relief. Then you only need to handle that side now. I’ll take you there immediately.”
“Please do.”
Se-rang loosened her tie slightly and closed her eyes.
She had to calm her anger. She had to act rationally. Before meeting an enemy, she had to calm down.
Otherwise, the enemy would look down on her.
After Secretary Cha drove for quite a while, they arrived at a vast golf course on the outskirts of the capital area.
Looking at the broad green fairway spread beneath the clear weather, Se-rang let out a hollow laugh.
So this damned bastard interfered with someone else’s business and then came here to play golf.
“Secretary Cha.”
“Yes, Director.”
“Do you have golf clubs?”
“They are always prepared in the trunk.”
“Could you take them out?”
“Of course.”
Secretary Cha quickly took a golf bag out of the trunk and slung it over his shoulder. But Se-rang shook her head.
“Give it to me.”
“Pardon?”
“I’m the one who needs what’s inside it, so why are you carrying it, Secretary Cha? I should carry it.”
“…!”
“You weren’t hired as a talent just to carry golf bags. Give it to me.”
After saying that, Se-rang slung the golf bag over her shoulder. Then she took off her high heels, roughly shoved them into the golf bag, and put on golf shoes.
“Director, if you give me your shoes…”
“No. I need these high heels too.”
“Pardon?”
“You’ll understand when you see it later.” Instead of explaining further, Se-rang only said that.
Secretary Cha sensed that something unusual was about to happen, but she did not ask further.
“Instead, could you arrange a cart for me, Secretary Cha?”
“I’ll drive one over immediately.”
“Could you drive it yourself too? I don’t want to show a caddie anything unpleasant.”
(Translator’s Note: Caddie — A golf course attendant who assists players by carrying clubs, giving course information, and supporting play.)
“Leave it to me.”
At her crisp answers, Se-rang grinned.
As expected, Secretary Cha was a prepared talent.
And it took exactly eight minutes and thirty seconds for Secretary Cha to personally drive the cart over to Se-rang.
Se-rang climbed into the back without saying anything.
The weather was cool, the cart drove smoothly despite its shaking, and people were peacefully playing golf.
Yeon Si-ho was the same.
Yeon Si-ho was surrounded by flashy-looking women and a personal caddie.
The moment Secretary Cha stopped the cart, Se-rang slung the golf bag over her shoulder again and strode toward Yeon Si-ho.
The caddies were the first to notice Se-rang. They panicked and pointed Se-rang out to Yeon Si-ho.
“Why? What… huh?” Yeon Si-ho turned around in confusion, spotted Se-rang, and stood there blankly for a moment.
But Se-rang did not stand there blankly. Instead, she pulled a high heel from the golf bag and threw it at Yeon Si-ho’s stomach.
“Argh!”
And it hit.
“You crazy—”
“Hey, you fucking bastard.”
“!”
While everyone was shocked by the curse that came out immediately, Se-rang pulled a golf club from the golf bag.
The grip feels amazing. Yeon Se-rang, you’re useful at times like this. At least your taste in golf clubs is fantastic.
“Hey, hey, you…!”
“Clench your teeth.”
“Argh!”
Se-rang swung the golf club at Yeon Si-ho. Fortunately, Yeon Si-ho dropped forward and dodged, but his face was full of shock.
“You dodged? Let’s see if you can dodge the next one.”
After saying that, Se-rang tried to bring the golf club down again. But the caddies who rushed over grabbed her hands.
“Y-you can’t do this! I don’t know who you are, but please talk this out—”
“I’m this man’s biological younger sister. Have you perhaps heard of Yeon Se-rang?”
“!”
With a choked sound, the women’s eyes widened.
The caddies were at a loss over the unexpected family fight they witnessed. At first, they seemed to think it was some romantic dispute and tried to stop it, but once it was judged as a family fight, they became flustered.
Se-rang did not miss the gap while they panicked and immediately swung the golf club again.
“Aaaagh!”
This time, the golf club struck exactly between Yeon Si-ho’s legs.
Se-rang had considered actually hitting his leg, but changed her mind.
“Get up, you bastard.”
“Are you really crazy?!”
“If you don’t get up, I’ll smash your head with this.”
Yeon Si-ho’s face went completely pale as he hurriedly got up.
“What the hell are you doing?! I called you crazy, and now you’ve actually gone insane?”
“I have gone insane. My temper has.”
“!”
“You interfered with someone else’s business, so did you not expect to get beaten up, you bastard?” Se-rang chuckled and rested the golf club on her shoulder.
She was ready to swing it again at any moment.
“Ah, so you’re making this whole scene over that? Because I stole your choreographer a little?”
“That?” Se-rang tightened her grip on the golf club.
Yeon Si-ho flinched and looked toward Secretary Cha.
“Secretary Cha! Aren’t you going to stop this bastard?!”
“I’m sorry, Representative. I currently belong to Imperial, not Blue Royal.” But Secretary Cha merely shrugged and pretended not to know anything.
Se-rang tapped Yeon Si-ho’s cheek with the golf club. Yeon Si-ho tried to irritably push the club away, but Se-rang was faster.
“Actually, I thought about it on the way here. What kind of deal should I offer you to persuade you? What should I do to coax you so you won’t interfere with me?”
“You coax people like this? You lunatic?”
“But the more I thought about it, the more I couldn’t understand why I should persuade you nicely. You were the one who screwed me over first when I was minding my own business, so why should I voluntarily crawl to you and offer you something?” After saying that, Se-rang flung the golf club aside. Then she clenched her fist tightly. “A guy like you can’t have a normal conversation anyway. I wondered if I treated you too much like a human and indulged you too much, so now you don’t know your place.”
“Treat me like a human? Are you seriously out of your mind? What do you think will happen if Grandfather finds out you went around causing a scene like this?”
“What will happen?” After saying that, Se-rang stepped close to Yeon Si-ho, right up to the tip of his chin. “What will happen, Yeon Si-ho? If I say you tried to ruin my efforts to save the program, so I hit you once. What exactly do you think our grandfather will do to me?”
“…!”
“If I blocked your entertainment company’s path the same way, Grandfather would be furious. But do you really think Grandfather would even blink just because I planted a shoe and a golf club into your worthless solar plexus?”
(Translator’s Note: Solar Plexus — The area around the upper abdomen below the sternum. In Korean, it is commonly used to refer to the pit of the stomach, often as a target for a painful blow.)
At her entirely correct argument, Yeon Si-ho could not refute her and only stammered.
That was exactly why Se-rang had thrown the high heel first instead of engaging in a battle of wits.
Right now, the true owner of Imperial and Blue Royal was Chairman Yeon.
No matter how much Yeon Si-ho acted up and strutted around as if it belonged to him, Blue Royal was not actually his. It was merely something temporarily borrowed from Chairman Yeon.
So attacking Blue Royal would not actually mean attacking Yeon Si-ho. It would become an attack on Chairman Yeon.
And Chairman Yeon had already drawn a line at the last dinner, telling her not to do such a thing.
So Se-rang decided not to touch Blue Royal. At least not until Chairman Yeon gave his permission.
Instead, she decided to touch only Yeon Si-ho directly.
“If you pull this kind of crap one more time, I’ll completely ruin your path, so back off, Yeon Si-ho.”
“You? You’ll ruin me?” Yeon Si-ho let out a mocking laugh. “What are you going to do to ruin me? Who do you think you are? Are you going to run crying to Grandfather and ask him to scold me? Do you think I’d be afraid of that?”
“Did you forget something? Did you already forget that I’m on the same side as Baek Do-gyeong?”
“!”
“Do you really think that bastard doesn’t have at least one of your weaknesses?” Se-rang smiled as though she was being kind. “He kept his mouth shut until now because he was watching Grandfather’s reaction…. But if I say that he released that weakness to protect me… who do you think Grandfather would criticize? Me or Baek Do-gyeong? Or you, the one who went out of his way to create the problem?”
“Stop bluffing. I know you and Baek Do-gyeong don’t have anything like that.”
Yeon Si-ho tried to sound calm, but Se-rang knew.
“Then test for yourself whether it’s a bluff or not.”
She knew his voice was trembling.
