I Became a Police (Fiend) in an Adult Game
It's safe to say that among men who enjoy gaming, very few have never tried an eroge—an adult game, in plain terms, laced with explicit, pornographic elements.
Of course, I was one of those countless men, and I'd played through more titles than I could possibly count.
I'd experienced every conceivable route and ending across innumerable games, yet none of them could compare to this one.
Magical Girl Estia.
It was a classic RPG magical girl eroge in which you controlled the protagonist, Seo Yeorum, to exterminate fiends and evil organizations and save the city.
The first reason I loved it was Seo Yeorum's design. Assets in all the right places, a figure that promised everything and delivered. The beautiful face befitting an eroge heroine, a lively yet somehow adorable personality, and even the shamelessly revealing outfit she wore after transforming.
It was as if every element that could drive men wild had been deliberately crammed in, and that design had seized my attention from the very first glance.
Next came the game's many tantalizing situations.
The erotic scenes that naturally arose in the daily-life portions of any magical girl story were, from the player's perspective, literal pornography. Incredibly arousing.
Yet beyond that arousal, the story itself was outstanding and genuinely entertaining. It even carried real emotional weight.
Perhaps because of that emotional depth, I stuck exclusively to Virginity Runs from my second playthrough onward.
No matter what humiliations she endured, I protected her purity until the end with sheer determination. The story and its emotional resonance were powerful enough to inspire that kind of devotion.
That is why I crowned Magical Girl Estia my all-time favorite eroge.
So why am I suddenly rambling about my favorite adult game?
Because I've been dragged into its world.
I had simply gone to sleep as usual. That was all. Yet when I regained consciousness, I found myself pulled into the universe of this very game.
There were two clear reasons I realized where I was...
...Actually, before I get to that, there's something I need to handle first.
I headed for the next sector after hearing the reply from my radio.
That's right. I am currently a police officer inside the world of a magical girl eroge.
Just days ago I had been an ordinary young man looking for work, but the moment I watched the tenth true ending of Magical Girl Estia, I was dropped straight into this world.
For the record, it wasn't that the game had ten different endings; I had simply cleared the true ending ten times. The game didn't have multiple endings to begin with.
But that isn't what's important. What matters is that an enemy had appeared.
-Squirm, squirm…
“Lowest-grade monster spotted. Eliminating immediately.”
The enemy in question was the squirming slime right in front of me.
Yes, the famously pathetic slime.
I drew the gun at my hip and leveled it at the writhing creature.
-Bang! Bang! Bang!
The three bullets flew true, piercing the slime cleanly. It collapsed on the spot.
“Hm. Good.”
I holstered my weapon and reported the happy news to my superior over the radio.
“Roger.”
The police in this game have a rather unique setting even among magical girl eroges.
In most magical girl stories, the police are portrayed as utterly useless. To be blunt, they’re little more than civilians riding the magical-girl bus. It’s a blessing if they don’t actually get in the way.
But in the world of Magical Girl Estia, police officers possess a suppressive effect against monsters.
Although it only works on the lowest-grade ones, it’s an extremely rare trait for the genre. And that was exactly how I first realized this wasn’t the Korea I had lived in, but the Korea of Magical Girl Estia.
The moment I woke up I was already wearing a police uniform and undergoing “anti-monster marksmanship training.” There was no way I could miss it.
There was one more reason, but it isn’t important right now. What is important?
“Senior, do you copy?”
“I need to use the bathroom.”
“Yes, thank you~”
Now that I had my senior’s permission, it was time.
Time for what? The bathroom? Please. That was obviously an excuse.
It was time to go see Seo Yeorum—the girl I had mentioned earlier as important. Because today was the day her story began.
The Seo Yeorum of right now was ten years old—a child.
This little girl wasn’t yet active as the eroge’s magical girl; that phase began when she turned twenty and became a university student.
So why does her story begin today, when she is only ten?
Because today is the day she first encounters a monster and loses her parents. That’s why I’ve been rushing around like this, trying to stop even the beginning of that tragedy.
A few minutes after I started hurrying toward the place where Seo Yeorum would be attacked, it became clear I was a little late.
-BOOOOM!!
The explosion echoed from far away. When I reached the source, an entire abandoned building was engulfed in flames.
There were no living monsters or humans left inside. Only one little girl lay unconscious on the ground.
I approached that girl… Seo Yeorum.
Adorable black twin-tails, chubby cheeks that still carried the last traces of baby fat, a fluttering dress, and hair neatly braided. It was the exact image of Seo Yeorum’s childhood I remembered from the game—so perfect I could believe it without question.
“This child… is Seo Yeorum…”
Seeing the heroine of my favorite game filled me with joy, but it also brought crushing guilt.
If only I had arrived just a little sooner, this girl wouldn’t have had to experience losing her parents.
In the original Magical Girl Estia, Seo Yeorum loses her parents in this accident and is sent to an orphanage.
That was why I had tried to prevent the accident entirely. I had managed to figure out the date somehow, but I didn’t know the exact location. I had simply been circling the general area, searching for any sign of trouble.
As a result, my first plan had collapsed.
Therefore, I decided to enact my second plan. As the police officer who discovered the accident, I would become the new guardian for Seo Yeorum, the pitiful child with a tragic story.
I would raise her—raise Yeorum—with the utmost care, in exactly the way I wanted…
…and I would never, ever let her become a magical girl.
If she never becomes a magical girl, she’ll have no reason to experience those tragic events. The reason I had stuck to Virginity Runs was because I wanted her to be even a little happier. The reason I came to this world was to prevent the beginning of that sad story. Even though I had failed.
So for now, I had to take this child and return to the station.
I lifted Seo Yeorum into my arms and slowly left the accident site.
Even if I wanted to, I wouldn’t be able to find the bodies of her parents or the fiend inside the flames. They would have all burned away.
The moment I tried to leave the scene with her in my arms—
“Give that child baaaaack!”
-Slaaash!!
A sudden attack flew toward me.
It was the desperate final strike of a still-living monster, a single sharp dagger that had poured every ounce of its remaining life into the blow.
The attack was so abrupt that it reached right in front of my eyes. There was no way to dodge or deflect it by ordinary means.
And that was why—
-Crunch!!!
I ended up showing the child—showing Seo Yeorum—a sight she must never see.
Fortunately, it seemed Yeorum was still unconscious.
“Guh… hack… those… tentacles… no… way…”
“Oops. I couldn’t finish you off right away. Was she too weak? Or perhaps it was thanks to your desperate struggle? Either way, what a shame.”
“You… you… traitor… you bas—”
-Wham! -Splurt!
I slammed the fiend’s head with a tentacle before it could finish, and the already-weakened creature’s skull burst apart, ending its life.
…Anyway, that was the second reason I knew this wasn’t the Korea I knew, but the Korea inside Magical Girl Estia.
It was because, in addition to being a police officer, I had become the tentacle fiend and mid-boss of Magical Girl Estia—Nacht.
Even though I had never used them before, I could freely control the tentacles that sprouted from my back. Their destructive power surpassed imagination, and my movements far exceeded human limits.
How could I not realize I was a fiend—moreover, the mid-boss Nacht?
“Mmm…”
The voice came from Seo Yeorum in my arms. I quickly covered her eyes.
But perhaps because I was still clumsy at controlling this body, I unconsciously used a tentacle to do it.
I was startled at myself, yet I kept my composure and began to sing.
“Lullaby… lullaby… our… Yeorum… sleeps… so… well… our… Yeorum…”
It was an incredibly awkward lullaby, but a ten-year-old girl who had just suffered a massive trauma had no room to notice such things. Thanks to that, Seo Yeorum fell back asleep.
I let out a mental sigh of relief and returned to the station with Yeorum.
For the record, I filed no detailed report. I simply said, “I found a collapsed child on the street.”
The incident had occurred in a completely different sector from the one I was supposed to be patrolling. If I told the truth, I would obviously be interrogated.
As a result, the police concluded that a fiend with teleportation abilities must have been involved. How convenient this fiend setting is at times like these.
Anyway, roughly three weeks passed, and the day finally arrived.
“Hey, Gu Hyunmin. Are you really sure about this?”
“About what, sir?”
“Why are you raising a kid with no relatives? You’re just a rookie in the Special Phenomenon Response Team—your starting salary is peanuts. You think you can raise a child on that money? And you could die at any moment, you know?”
I let the team leader’s words go in one ear and out the other as I opened the door to the shelter.
Inside, Seo Yeorum sat with vacant eyes, staring at a book.
As I walked toward her, I gave Banjang the excuse I had prepared.
“Because she has no one else. I was the same. No one understands the sadness of a child without parents better than an adult who grew up without them.”
“Hah, listen to this twenty-year-old kid talking like he’s seen it all.”
An orphan policeman raising a child orphaned by tragedy—what a tear-jerking story.
So please, don’t interfere with my perfect plan to eliminate the magical girl.
