Author's Afterword: From Nightmare Dream to 169 Chapters and Beyond
Hello everyone. This is Jakka the Keyboard Fairy, Kiyochang, dropping in out of nowhere with some sudden erotica.
It was around late October last year, when the heat had finally started to fade just a bit.
At the time, I'd just wrapped up my ongoing series The Hidden Route of That War Game is No-Kill in a rush after hitting zero new readers for three straight updates. Feeling utterly defeated in my dream of becoming a famous web novel author, I spent my days in total lethargy.
One night, after getting completely wasted and collapsing into bed, I dreamed I was being dragged off somewhere in chains.
Yes, that's right.
It's a super embarrassing story, but what I saw in that dream was none other than Dia Village, the luxurious housing complex where all the rich young ladies live—the very setting for this story.
Ruby and Marin, Milky and Flora, even the cleaning lady Amelia. They all treated me like a sex slave with no human rights, subjecting me to unimaginable horrors.
It was so intense that even after waking up, I couldn't tell if it had been a nightmare or not.
But!!!!
<—(100% true story, I swear)
Even after getting wrecked in the dream, I was thrilled and spent three days sketching out the beginning, ending, and characters.
For someone like me, who'd already tanked several stories on other platforms (under different pen names), this was a bold leap. I'd never written modern fiction, let alone erotica.
But the dream had already given me the characters, concept, and even the background so clearly—it was more than worth the shot.
Of course, my first drafts struggled hard to nail the modern prose style. Trying to transplant the dream scenes straight over often wrecked the plot logic.
Midway through, I got sick, family issues cropped up, and what I'd planned as a 100-chapter ending ballooned to 169 episodes, which was a headache. But anyway!
After overcoming countless trials, this jackass finally— for the first time!— managed to serialize for a whopping 169 chapters without missing a single day!
Thanks to that, I hit a record 2,000 favorites for the first time ever. None of this would've been possible without all you readers enjoying my work—100% thanks to you.
So, to wrap up this historic completion, I'd love to do a Q&A with all you readers who've stuck with this story.
Wow! Clap clap clap!!!
A few of you kindly left steady comments along the way, but this glass-mental jackass was too scared of spoilers or shaking my fragile resolve to reply properly.
So if there's anything you're curious about with this story, good or bad points, side stories you'd like to see, or whatever—anything goes.
I've got notifications set up on my phone for your comments, so feel free to drop your thoughts here anytime. I'd be super grateful!
I'll answer everything except stuff that's tough to respond to! (I'll try to hit as many as possible!)
Oh, right!
Last but not least, let's talk side stories and next project schedule!
For the side stories: Since I only outlined up to the ending when I started, they'll go up slowly.
I'll review the content over the weekend and start jotting them down from Monday.
Planning for max 5 short episodes! (Though if I have more ideas, maybe more; if not, maybe none!)
Next project... I'm planning about a month break.
Two reasons.
First, I think I've got a neck disc—my nape keeps stiffening up.
Started okay, but by the late serialization, it got so bad I couldn't focus on writing. Heading to the hospital as soon as they open for proper treatment and rest.
Second, the daily serialization grind.
This time, I jumped in without a single stockpiled chapter, which caused tons of headaches. Planning to stockpile about 20 chapters before starting.
Also toning down the erotica. The smut scenes always gave me post-nut clarity crashes...
(Please forget I said that writing about the protagonist banging multiple girls like an alpha male made me rage-quit the keyboard mid-scene since I don't even have a girlfriend.)
That said, my core taste is harem stuff, so no novel without heroines.
Nothing hits my sweet spot like characters flirting and bickering.
Anyway, this got longer than expected.
TL;DR: I'll announce side story episodes and next project details right here in notices as they firm up.
Thanks to you readers, Kiyochang could serialize happily on Novelpia.
Thank you so much!
