Prologue
When I threw open the window, a bone-chilling winter wind rushed inside.
Even so, I didn't close it. If I did, I wouldn't be able to see it properly.
"Snow."
The world had transformed into a canvas untouched by a single brushstroke.
Snow piling up thick and deep.
I couldn't contain the overwhelming surge of emotion and burst out laughing, hahaha.
"Why's the sergeant acting like this?"
"No idea. That guy's obsessed with snow—he goes nuts whenever it falls."
"I've heard the rumors, sir. They say he even volunteered for winter training."
"The man's insane. Sigh, fucking hate snow removal duty."
I could hear my juniors grumbling, but I didn't give a damn.
It was snowing, after all.
Maybe that's why.
When I opened my eyes, instead of the familiar ceiling, I saw snow-capped mountains piled high with the white stuff.
But I didn't think much of it.
"Whoa, snow."
It felt so refreshingly cool, and that put me in a great mood.
