Afterword
Afterword
Hello!
To my dear, respected readers!
I'm Aewanjakga, the one who wrote I Was Mistaken as a Great War Commander!
I never thought the day would come when I'd be writing a story's afterword, but it really has...!
It feels so surreal in so many ways.
I still can't quite believe that I've actually completed the series.
I started serializing in November of last year, and I finished in November of this year, so for those of you who've been following me from the very beginning, we've been together for a full year.
Thanks to all your love, the novel even ranked number one on Novelpia for over two months.
And...
Ah!
When the day came to write this afterword, there were so many things I wanted to tell you...!
But now that I've actually finished, I'm not sure where to begin.
First of all, let me start with my thanks!
Thank you so, so much for reading all the way to the end!
Whenever I told you, dear readers, that I'm grateful, I wasn't just saying it for the sake of it.
Without you, writers like me wouldn't be able to make a living.
And I also think that a piece of writing only truly shines when someone reads it.
So in that sense, it's you readers who made my writing shine.
Of course, I also worked incredibly hard to keep you reading.
No, I really mean it.
Every day, I thought about how to write so that you would have fun.
When I uploaded a piece I'd agonized over and you all enjoyed it, I felt like I could fly right up into the sky.
Seeing you happy makes me happy in turn, you know.
So I think that's what pushed me to work even harder.
Because I wanted to see you enjoying yourselves.
Speaking of which, I read every single comment you posted, not missing a single one.
So many of you commented, and some of you regularly left comments on my work.
Thank you so much.
Reading the comments you wrote as you were enjoying the story truly gave me enormous strength.
And to those of you who sent donations, I want to thank you once again as well.
You filled your messages with such kind words—just reading them made me feel wonderful.
If I could, I'd want to give each and every one of you a hug.
And... as for my next work, I don't think I can make any firm promises about when I'll write it.
Because while writing I Was Mistaken as a Great War Commander, my brain worked itself to death trying to squeeze out the most fun developments...
I think I need to take some time off for a while.
But as time passes, I'm sure my brain will definitely cry out, "I want to write!"
I think that's when I'll be able to see you all again.
I feel like I've said everything I wanted to say to you now, but maybe because I'm feeling a little sad, my fingers keep typing.
What I always feel is that bringing the world I was writing to an end and leaving it behind is both refreshing and a little bittersweet.
I truly hope that all of you, travelers through the world I created, were satisfied with the journey.
Then, I think it's time for a farewell.
All of you, dear readers! Thank you so very much for everything so far!
You have no idea how happy I've been to have you as my friends for the past year!
Now that the story is complete, I'll have to leave for a little while, but I'll definitely come back someday!
Until then, stay healthy, everyone!
You absolutely must not get sick!
Well then...
Let's be sure to meet again next time!
