Chapter 15
A chill shot through him. It was as if a dagger had flown and lodged itself in his chest.
“Fuck…”
Why, why hadn’t he thought of it? He’d managed to figure out that he needed to use the bathroom to get out of the room, yet he hadn't considered when he’d last relieved himself.
Gurgle, gurgle.
His lower abdomen was sending urgent signals. The sweat that had started beading on his skin sometime ago was now streaming down, drenching his entire body in a sticky film.
‘Calm down. Stay calm. I have to use this situation.’
Dokyun’s eyes squeezed shut. The corners of his tightly sealed lips trembled minutely, betraying his panicked state.
‘First, as soon as that woman comes in, I’ll tell her I need to use the bathroom immediately.’
She wouldn’t want me to shit all over the place in here. Whatever it took, she would have to untie me and lead me outside. I had to take full advantage of that moment.
‘The first thing to check.’
Before leaving this room, the bottom shelf behind the bed. Next, the layout of the area outside the room and the placement of objects. I had to grasp at least that much to plan my next move.
‘Yes. This is a good opportunity. Bodily functions are unavoidable.’
She won’t have a fit over this.
…Probably.
As Dokyun clenched his sphincter with all his might, drenched in a cold sweat, Eun-ah, having finished her tidying up, re-entered the room.
Creeak—.
Whip—!
At the sound of the door opening, Dokyun’s head snapped around to find Eun-ah. Perhaps pleased by his immediate attention, her face was wreathed in a smile.
“Heehee… I’m baaack…”
“Ah, wel… welcome… hic… back.”
Oh, I’m going to die. His insides were churning like a tempest.
Dokyun forced a smile as he greeted her, his face slick with cold sweat. Now, he had to open his mouth and state his business.
At that thought, even as his mind grew hazy from the riot in his gut, a wave of tension spread through his body. He had to speak in a tone that wouldn't upset her in the slightest.
Finally, Dokyun’s mouth opened.
“Um… Ms. Eun-ah?”
“Yeees?”
Tilt.
Eun-ah tilted her head and replied. Then, just as Dokyun was about to speak again, seeing her waiting for his next words, Eun-ah’s mouth opened first.
“Honeybee… a-are you… in pain?”
“Pardon?”
The question came out of nowhere. Dokyun was flustered by her sudden words, but he understood her intent after a moment and gave a slight nod. She must be referring to his pale complexion.
Just as Dokyun, having sorted his thoughts, was about to open his mouth again.
“Ah… you can’t be in pain…”
Eun-ah said in a flustered tone, approaching Dokyun and placing her hands on his body. He could feel a tremor travel from the hand gripping his collar.
Sniffle.
‘What… what the fuck.’
This was a new pattern. Dokyun’s mind raced, trying to make sense of the situation, but the turmoil in his stomach made it difficult.
“If… if you’re in pain… Eun-ah hurts too…”
Eun-ah began to whimper, her nose running. Panicked by her sudden emotional swerve, Dokyun tried to quickly spit out a clarification, but Eun-ah’s words were a step faster.
“D-don’t be in pain…”
Her hand, which had been gripping his collar tightly, began to move back and forth, shaking him. The vibration of his body and the pain in his abdomen rattled Dokyun’s mind.
‘Ah… no…’
“Don’t be in paaaain…”
As Eun-ah repeated the same words, shaking him, the signals from his gut grew more desperate. His heart pounding from the frantic shaking, Dokyun began to unleash an explosive rage internally.
‘Shit! I need to shit! I need to take a fucking shit!’
It was an emotion he could not show on the outside. In stark contrast to the torrent of curses erupting in his mind, Dokyun’s lips curved into a perfect smile as he spoke to Eun-ah in a gentle tone.
“P-please calm… hic… down. It’s not that kind of pain.”
Halt.
Eun-ah’s hand, which had been shaking him as she sniffled, stopped. The whimpering sounds from her mouth ceased, and her tear-filled eyes stared at Dokyun. Seeing that she had stopped crying, Dokyun hastily continued.
“It’s not that I’m hurting like that. It’s, uh, my stomach is a little…”
“You’re… not in pain…?”
“No, of course not. I’m as healthy as can be.”
“Hee… heehee… that’s a relief…”
Hearing Dokyun’s answer, Eun-ah began to giggle as if she’d never been crying at all. Watching her, Dokyun screamed internally.
‘Now let me go to the bathroom! Please!’
It’s coming. It’s coming. It’s coming. It’s coming. It’s coming.
This was truly dangerous. It was the first crisis of this magnitude in Dokyun’s life since he was a baby, a life in which he had never once wet the bed. Cold sweat poured down like a waterfall. Even so, Dokyun’s mouth moved diligently, conveying his request to Eun-ah.
“So… um… if I could just use the bathroom…”
“…Ah!”
Nod.
As Eun-ah nodded, her cheeks flushed slightly.
Shudder—.
‘What the fuck is that crazy bitch thinking!’
Why was she blushing? A chill shot straight down his spine. The creepiness layered on top of his bewilderment made Dokyun feel a different kind of threat.
‘That… that… that fucking crazy bitch!’
What on earth was happening inside that twisted woman’s imagination? It was terrifying, so terrifying. A contradictory feeling arose—a desperate curiosity, yet a profound desire not to understand what was in her head.
“J-just a moment…”
As Dokyun trembled with fear from the goosebumps covering his body, Eun-ah’s voice reached his ears. A moment later, she approached, untied the strap around his waist, helped him up, and spoke.
“F-follow me…”
“Yes, right away.”
Dokyun steadied his newly freed body and followed Eun-ah as she headed for the door. Goosebumps be damned, he had to take care of business right now. He was truly at his limit. Clenching his sphincter with all his might, Dokyun finally escaped the dark room.
*
Whooosh—.
A primal pleasure enveloped his entire body. An overwhelming sense of liberation. In this moment, Dokyun was free from all the negative emotions that had bound him.
“Ah…”
Now this is sex.
He was grateful to the entire world. Truly, truly grateful. He was glad to be alive. The small sliver of freedom he had won at the end of a tear-jerking battle was so incredibly sweet.
Suddenly, Dokyun’s thoughts replayed the situation just before he entered the bathroom.
—Well, sh-shall we go in?
—…Pardon?
—W-well… wiping by yourself… i-it must be haard…
Her face, dyed crimson as she said those words, had been terrifying. Her intention to follow him even into the bathroom had been horrifying. That unnerving perversion, which no longer seemed to have any intention of hiding itself, was now targeting him openly.
‘Thank you, my dear mouth.’
He was so grateful to his own mouth for concocting an excuse in that instant. It felt as if tears were welling in his slowly closing eyes. Could he really escape without being devoured? His confidence was vanishing.
He stayed like that for a moment.
‘No, no. I have to get out. I can do it!’
Shaking his head to scatter the negative feelings, Dokyun retraced the events leading up to his arrival in the bathroom.
First, the shelf behind the bed.
‘…It was gone.’
The notebook and the picture frame were gone. Only after seeing that did he finally realize it.
‘She let me go too easily.’
He hadn’t been able to think deeply because of his stomachache, but the woman who had given him such a chilling look at the mere possibility that he had seen the bottom of the shelf had let him go far too easily.
The most plausible hypothesis was.
‘…Confidence that it doesn’t matter if she lets me go.’
Confidence that I can no longer escape. That had to be it. It was highly likely she had already disposed of anything that could be a clue.
‘A private home, just as I expected.’
Outside the door was, as predicted, the layout of a normal house. A living room and a kitchen, and besides the door he’d come out of, there were several other doors. It was a rather large house. Furthermore, there was more space down a hallway that was completely hidden from his line of sight.
‘This is practically a mansion…’
For the home of a novelist who was just starting to get popular, it was far too large.
On top of that.
‘…What the fuck, is this an SM club?’
Attached to the furniture throughout the house were long chain collars, the purpose of which he didn’t even want to imagine.
‘So she plans to restrict my range of movement even if I get out of the room.’
The intention was obvious. From his vantage point, he had seen them on the living room sofa and the kitchen table. There were probably more collars in places he couldn’t see.
And.
‘The entrance to the outside was completely sealed.’
The window leading to the veranda was completely covered with electrical tape, making it impossible to see outside, and the edges of the window were studded with a cluster of hinges, making it look impossible to open. Moreover, the front door, located next to the kitchen opposite the window.
‘The digital lock was installed backward.’
He might have missed it with a casual glance. But the lock, which had given him a momentary sense of wrongness, was installed inside out. In other words, you had to enter the password from the inside to get out.
‘This is too much…’
Although it seemed as large as a mansion, there was no guarantee this was the first floor of a detached house. Breaking the window also seemed difficult. The window, wrapped in electrical tape, looked like it would be hard to break through with ordinary strength.
‘The front door is a problem, too.’
No one in their right mind would do something as crazy as installing a door lock backward. How was that any different from saying, ‘Hey burglars! Please rob our house!’? The most credible, yet terrifying, possibility was…
‘This house… isn’t the end of it.’
The possibility that the space beyond that door also belonged to her. The possibility that outside this house, there was another space separating it from the outside world.
As his thoughts reached that point, a curse slipped from Dokyun’s lips.
“Fuck…”
This was too hard. When he’d first stepped out of the door, it had felt like a breakthrough was in sight, but the reality beyond the room now crushed him with a sense of overwhelming despair.
‘No, what I saw might not be everything.’
My stomach hurt so much, I might not have been able to check properly. Besides, there was that hallway that was hidden from my line of sight. There was still a lot to check in this house.
‘For now… I should go out.’
He had been in here too long. If he stayed any longer, he might arouse suspicion. Before leaving, Dokyun’s eyes scanned the bathroom he was in.
‘…Nothing particularly useful.’
Just toiletries, toilet paper, and towels. There was nothing he could secretly take and use. With a sigh, Dokyun steeled himself once more, finished up, and left the bathroom.
Creeak—.
“…Ah! Y-you’re back…”
Eun-ah, her face flushed red, greeted Dokyun at the door. Seeing her, Dokyun once again felt a chill run down his back, but he quickly composed his expression and responded with a smile.
“Yes. A bit embarrassing this early in the morning.”
“N-no! It… it means you’re heeealthy…”
Saying that, Eun-ah grabbed Dokyun’s collar, this time bowing her head deeply as she spoke to him.
“W-well then… sh-sh-shall we go wash up…?”
“…Yes.”
He squeezed his eyes shut, but he had expected this. No, for Dokyun, this was actually a good thing. At least while washing, he would have a moment alone in that space to check for anything.
With that thought, Dokyun plastered a broad smile back on his face and opened his mouth to speak to Eun-ah.
“I’m sorry for keeping you waiting. You must need to wash up too, Ms. Eun-ah.”
“…Th-then… sh-shall we… g-g-go in… togeeether…?”
“…Pardon?”
‘What the fuck did I just hear.’
His mind went blank. Unable to process the words he had just heard, his thoughts began to tremble and short-circuit.
‘Uh…’
In that brief moment, his mind, having finally understood the words, began to shriek and thrash about as if it were being torn apart.
‘Fu… FUCK!’
It was a catastrophe. An unspeakable catastrophe. Just as Dokyun was trying to pinpoint where things had gone wrong, Eun-ah’s words continued.
“I-if we wa… wash together… it’ll be much fa… faaaster…”
Seeing her face, so red he wondered if steam was about to pour from her head, Dokyun felt like he would rather just faint.
‘My mouth… my fucking big mouth…’
It was all his damn mouth’s fault.
