Lessons Carved in Flesh
Class【…….】Silence. There was no other way to describe the current situation. The ogre chief himself stayed silent, hoping his gamble would pay off. The pain from his lower body, where blood dripped steadily, paled in comparison to the judgment about to come from the guidance committee member's lips.
A moment later, the committee member's eyes changed.
A soulless voice echoed once more.
“……!”
The ogre chief inwardly cheered. It worked! He'd lost his male pride, but he'd saved his life and his legs. Wasn't this a true strategic victory?
The committee member bowed politely and stepped back. The ogre chief let out a sigh of relief and collapsed to the floor. His legs felt like jelly.
But the relief was short-lived. Ding-dong-dang-dong— The school bell rang out across the entire building once more. This time, it sounded even more eerie, more urgent.
Her gaze turned to the legless ogres crawling on the floor.
“W-what?!”
Before the ogres could even panic, the corridor floor split open with a crack. From the fissure, dark red tentacles burst forth, wrapping around the legless ogres.
“Gaaah! Chief! Save me!”
“No! I don't wanna!”
With the ogres' screams, they were dragged into the darkness below the floor in an instant.
“…….”
Now, the empty corridor held only the ogre chief.
At the committee member's warning, the ogre chief spat curses and staggered to his feet.
“Fuck… fuuuuck!”
His crotch throbbed, but he couldn't stop. If he did, he'd end up like the others—dragged by tentacles or caught by the committee member again.
Bleeding profusely, the ogre chief began limping down the corridor. His destination: 1st Year Class 1 classroom.
He staggered to the front door of the classroom. Slide— The old sliding door opened with an unnaturally loud creak.
The classroom inside was surprisingly ordinary. Rows of wooden desks and chairs, a blackboard at the front. Rain still poured outside the window, but it looked far safer than the corridor.
“Hah… hah……”
The ogre chief slumped into the nearest desk. As the tension eased, the pain between his legs surged. But the relief of survival outweighed it.
For now, catch my breath here… and find a way out.
That was when it happened. Slide—clack! The front door opened, and something approached the teacher's podium.
The ogre chief jerked his head up in alarm.
“……?!”
It wasn't a monster. It was a human anatomical model, its skin peeled away to expose red muscle and glistening organs. Yet it stood at the podium as naturally as a living person. Empty eye sockets fixed on the ogre chief as its jaw clacked.
“Take your seats, everyone. Class is starting.”
A voice so cheerful it only amplified the wrongness.
“Today's lesson is on human anatomy. Did everyone bring their textbooks?”
The anatomical model teacher scanned the classroom. But there was only one student: the ogre chief. Naturally, he had no textbook.
“Oh dear… You're missing materials.”
The model teacher clucked its tongue in mock disappointment. Instinctively sensing danger, the ogre chief tried to stand—but his body wouldn't move. It was as if he'd been glued to the desk and chair with industrial adhesive.
“Guh! What the hell! Why won't it budge?!”
In that moment, the teacher approached with steady footsteps.
“But don't worry. We can still have class without a textbook.”
A scalpel gleamed in the teacher's hand.
“The best textbook is your own body, after all.”
“W-what?!”
Before the ogre chief could react, the teacher's hand struck like lightning.
Stab!
“Gaaah!”
The scalpel plunged deep into the ogre chief's abdomen. Leather armor, tough ogre hide—none of it mattered. His belly split open soft as tofu.
“What the fuck are you doing?!”
Writhing in agony, the ogre chief grabbed the teacher's arm, trying to snap it with his monstrous strength.
But.
“No disruptions during class.”
It didn't budge. Instead, steel-like grip crushed the ogre chief's wrist. He prided himself on his unmatched power, but against this model, he was like a child.
“Now, let's find the stomach first?”
Casually, the teacher reached into the gaping belly. The warm, slick feel of his own innards assaulted the ogre chief's brain.
“The best way to learn the stomach's position is to see it for yourself.”
Squelch— The teacher pulled something from the gut. A wriggling red sac. The ogre chief's stomach.
“Look at that. Such a sturdy stomach. Bet you digest well.”
“Guhurk… urk……!”
The sight of his own organ dangling before him made the ogre chief retch. Pain, terror, revulsion blurred his mind.
“Unfortunately, with only one student today, we'll have to use your body as the teaching aid. You understand, right?”
The teacher smiled kindly as it stuffed the stomach back in.
“Next, the liver. The liver handles detoxification—an essential organ.”
The hand rummaged inside again.
“Uwaaaah! Stop! Stop it!”
The ogre chief's screams filled the classroom. But the lesson had only just begun.
Stomach, liver, small intestine, large intestine… This horrific anatomy class wouldn't end until every organ was laid bare.
“Focus, student. It'll be on the test.”
The ogre chief could no longer even respond. Only his entrails and blood spilled out. On the desk, instead of textbooks, his organs were neatly arrayed.
I stood with arms crossed, gauging the judges' reactions. Executive Director Gremory, Branch Manager Amon, and Team Leader Liliane all sat quietly, awaiting the results.
“…….”
Silence. More silence. Quite some time had passed, yet no one emerged from the dungeon.
“Hm.”
Gremory cleared his throat and spoke flatly.
“No one's come out yet, so it seems they've all been handled inside.”
There was no pity in his voice for the ogres' deaths—only cold evaluation of the outcome.
“This proves the lethality, of course. But……”
Gremory fixed me with a sharp gaze.
“Wasn't the theme of this project education and reformation? Slaughtering them all dilutes the educational value, doesn't it?”
It was the question I'd anticipated. Simple killing could be done in Zartus's prison. The company wanted not a corpse factory, but terror that controlled survivors.
And I'd incorporated that perfectly into the Private Girls' High School dungeon.
Composed, I replied calmly.
“Of course. That's why I've designed appropriate measures for delinquent students who defy education and reformation.”
“Appropriate measures… You mean something worse than death?”
“Wait just a moment, and you'll see the results.”
I checked the time as I spoke. The school's core wasn't death. It was graduation—or expulsion.
That was when it happened. The firmly shut dungeon entrance creaked open again. All eyes turned to it.
From the dungeon's depths, something writhed and crawled out.
“Hnggh… hnggh……”
“I-I'm sorry… I'm so sorry.”
Two figures dragged themselves across the floor. The ogre prisoners we'd sent in earlier. But their state was wretched. Covered in blood, they pulled their severed leg stumps desperately, crawling out. Their eyes were unfocused, mad babble spilling from their mouths nonstop.
“N-never again… I'll never commit crimes again. Please… please, no more dungeons!”
“Hwaaaah! Don't send me back to the dungeon!”
These ferocious ogre prisoners wailed like terrified children. In mere minutes, their minds had been utterly remade. Perfect submission through terror.
“Hoo.”
Gremory's eyes widened. He looked at me with keen interest.
“Impressive. Perfect reformation in such a short time.”
His gaze flicked to their severed legs.
“Some physical damage in the process, but that's none of my concern. If anything, it's better. Nothing imprints fear like pain.”
Gremory smiled in satisfaction and clapped.
“As expected of Eastern Sales Team 3. These trending dungeons aren't from them for nothing. Right, sir?”
Branch Manager Amon nodded in agreement.
“Indeed. Beyond expectations. Zartus's prison was fine, but in efficiency and impact, Aiden's school crushes it. Such results on a shoestring budget.”
Gremory's praise flowed endlessly. Team Leader Liliane watched me with a pleased expression.
Zartus, meanwhile, trembled with clenched fists, head bowed. He couldn't accept his flashy prison losing to some rundown school.
But what could he do? Defeat for one who didn't grasp terror's essence.
“We'll grant overall authority on this project to Employee Aiden. Headquarters will be thrilled.”
HR Score increased by 5 points.
My HR Score had risen. -85 points. Still a long way to go, but it felt like I could breathe easier.
As I sighed in relief—
“Hold on.”
Gremory, about to stand, called me back. He eyed me with interest and approached slowly.
“Employee Aiden's concept exceeds excellent. It aligns perfectly with the project's vision.”
His red eyes bored into mine. The pressure of a headquarters executive weighed down, but I met his gaze steadily.
He paused, then made a bold offer.
“Succeed on this project, and I'll personally recommend your promotion in this semester's evaluations.”
“……!”
Gasps and murmurs rippled through the team. Zartus's face turned ashen. Promotions at Belial Enterprise were like grasping stars—especially for a mongrel like me.
“What do you say? A deal worth taking?”
Gremory extended his hand. No reason to refuse. It wasn't just a title bump—it meant shedding the regular employee label and gaining recognition as core talent.
I shook it without hesitation.
“I'll do my best, sir.”
“Good. I expect great things.”
Gremory smiled, patting my shoulder lightly. Then he whispered in my ear.
“And… someday, I'd like to see you at headquarters. Talent like yours is wasted in the eastern branch.”
With that, the executive departed.
