The Dragon Admin's Shocking Verification
At the northernmost edge of the demon realm lay the Froststorm Mountains, perpetually shrouded in eternal snow. Not even monsters could easily approach, let alone humans. Deep within a massive cave at the mountain's peak, a colossal dragon lay sprawled atop mountains of piled gold coins and jewels. Scales black as midnight, eyes gleaming gold. A single ancient dragon, a living legend known as Arteil.
But right now, his dignified form was nowhere to be seen. He was staring at the Dungeon Gallery on the screen before him, chuckling to himself.
"Kekeke… This orc's spouting nonsense again. Eat a ban, punk."
His true identity was the administrator of the demon realm's largest community, Dungeon Gallery, under the nickname DragDraDori★. For this being who had lived thousands of years, this was his one and only pastime. Nothing beat watching monsters tear into each other anonymously from behind their screens.
"Hm?"
Then, an intriguing post caught his eye.
The Fog Forest ruins. Arteil knew the place well. Decades ago, a vampire count had lived there until adventurers raided it and drove him off, leaving it abandoned ever since. Bad location, crumbling building—a trash property nobody would take even for free.
And this guy claimed to have wiped out an adventurer party there? Without spending a single point on maintenance?
"Hah, get real."
Arteil snorted. Nonsense. In thousands of years, he'd seen countless dungeons, but none that blocked adventurers without maintenance costs. Especially not some falling-apart ruin.
"Total delusional liar, huh?"
He checked the comments right away. As expected, the reactions were ice-cold. Everyone was mocking the poster.
"Hm, should I delete this?"
Arteil had one ironclad rule running Dungeon Gallery: high-quality info only. With humans conquering dungeons left and right lately, making life hell for monsters, he couldn't tolerate troll posts like this. Normally, he'd delete it as bait.
But…
"Hmmm…"
His gaze lingered on the poster's nickname. HanJiSoo. Not the first time he'd seen it. This was the same guy who'd posted about buying the ruins before. Back then, he'd just pitied another sucker falling for a scam.
But something felt off. Brimming with confidence. No exaggeration or excuses typical of liars. Just plain, factual statements.
'What if… what if this is real?'
Arteil's golden eyes flashed. If true, this would rewrite dungeon history. A dungeon with zero maintenance. A defense system running without monsters. The dream of every dungeon master.
"Worth checking out."
Arteil immediately started writing a new post.
Comments exploded the moment it went up. Users hyped over the admin's appearance.
Arteil smirked. Alright, prove it. Bluff or real? His heart raced for the first time in ages.
Then, a new comment appeared on the refreshed board.
"Oh ho."
Arteil's eyes widened. A normal liar would've made excuses or fled. But this one? Boldly asking for instructions.
'That confident, huh?'
Arteil snorted with interest. No reason to hold back, then. He replied immediately.
Hesitation-free response. Arteil smiled in satisfaction. He closed his eyes, focusing his mind.
"I'll send one of my familiars, an Observer."
Observer. A transparent spirit immune to physical attacks, piercing any trap with its gaze. Perfect for scouting dungeon layouts. It required the dungeon master's consent, but he'd already gotten it.
"Go. Show me the truth of that place."
With a gesture from Arteil, a transparent orb-shaped Observer tore through space and vanished.
He reopened Dungeon Gallery to post live updates.
Up to then, Arteil figured it was just another troll. But that illusion shattered soon enough.
The real issue came next. The Observer inside the dungeon… screamed.
"What the—?"
The Observer was lost. A spirit lost? Absurd. Spirits are nature itself. Meaning that dungeon was far removed from nature.
"Hah…"
Arteil tilted his head. Not just lost—no exit either.
But the shock hit harder next. The link with his familiar… severed.
"What… the hell…"
Arteil muttered in disbelief. No ordinary spatial distortion. If it were, his familiar wouldn't have gotten lost. This was…
"Isolating the dimension itself?"
More like a god's authority. Implementing that in a mere ruin?
"Han Ji-soo…"
Arteil's gaze sharpened. No longer seeing him as a liar. Perhaps witnessing the birth of a realm-shaking monster.
With trembling hands, he posted again.
The gallery erupted. Admin-approved dungeon. And its owner, Han Ji-soo.
Arteil gave a wry smile at Han Ji-soo's comment on screen.
"Entry's free, huh… Scary bastard."
He decided to forget the lost familiar. He had plenty more contracted spirits anyway.
"This'll be fun."
Confirming such an intriguing existence was reward enough.
I closed Dungeon Gallery and stood up. The place was in chaos, but I had more pressing business: the admin's familiar.
"Let's see."
I opened the dungeon management screen and scanned the yellow rooms. Amid the endless yellow maze, an alien presence floated aimlessly.
The admin's familiar spirit.
Capture Target: High-Grade Spirit 'Observer'
Status: Confusion, Terror, Lost
'High-grade spirit?'
A transparent orb-shaped spirit. Normal dungeons wouldn't even detect it, but in these warped-space yellow rooms—bug-exploited dungeon—it was just a lost child.
"Hm."
I rested my chin on my hand, observing it. What to do with this guy? Leave it, and it'd wander forever, going mad. But too valuable a material to waste.
Dragon's familiar. High-grade spirit.
'Transparent, observational spirit…'
Suddenly, an idea flashed in my mind.
The original Backrooms teem with entities. Entities are the unknown beings from Backrooms creepypasta. Unlike monsters that form ecosystems as living creatures, entities are the space's rules—transcendent phenomena dominating it.
'But my yellow rooms are just a borrowed Backrooms maze.'
So, I planned to rebirth this high-grade spirit as an entity. The perfect puzzle piece to fill the yellow rooms' missing 2%.
Place it here?
I activated the dungeon editor immediately.

"I'll put you to good use, Mod."
My dungeon was growing ever more perfect.
