The New Training Residence
Rene hurled a bowl at me. I twisted aside just in time. Crash! A sigh of relief escaped me. Fuck, that had been dangerously close.
“Haha! I like it. You give me exactly the feeling of hunting a herbivore desperately trying to flee… You really are the best.”
I twisted the jewel on the red ring.
"Light"
“Kyaaaaah!”
Rene screamed as electricity jolted her clitoris. Thud! Her legs gave out. She dropped to her knees, body quivering uncontrollably before collapsing.
Having electricity surge through your clit must be excruciating. Tears, snot, and drool ran messily down her face. I could only allow thirty seconds; any longer and her mind would shatter. Whether from the pain or the aftershocks, Rene now lay on the floor, trembling violently.
“Gaaaah! Grrk!”
Even while suffering, her desperate attempts to swallow her screams were both admirable and strangely endearing.
Once the thirty seconds were up, I returned the jewel to its original position. I approached the girl gasping roughly on the floor and gently pressed my foot down on the back of her hand.
In the softest voice I could manage, I asked, “How was it? Did you enjoy yourself?”
“Sh-shut up, you filth!” she screamed, voice thick with venom. Her body could barely hold itself together, yet her eyes still burned with defiance. Her language was remarkably refined. Most people at this stage would be spitting far cruder insults. Perhaps as a noblewoman she simply didn’t know any vulgar curses.
Still, I had to move her. A sleeping potion seemed necessary. I considered it briefly, but given how uncooperative she was, there was no other practical choice. The last thing I needed was her attempting to escape and causing more trouble.
I walked over to the cluster of potion bottles, selected one filled with white liquid, and popped the cork.
Pop!
This was a rather potent sleeping agent. I sprayed the white liquid onto a handkerchief and approached her again.
“Haa… what are you—mmph! Mmmph…!”
I pressed the handkerchief firmly over her mouth as she tried to shout. She thrashed wildly at first, but within seconds her pupils dilated, her eyelids fluttered, and she slipped into unconsciousness.
“This should keep her out for about thirty minutes.”
I hoisted her limp body and placed her inside the coffin. The real problem was next.
“Fuck. This is going to be a nightmare.”
“Haa… haa…”
Thank god I had this thing. Without the cart I would have been completely screwed. How was anyone supposed to move something this heavy alone? I’d asked Veloki just in case, and he had generously lent me a large cart, allowing me to transport the coffin all the way to the door of the new training room.
Click.
I unlocked the door and stepped inside. A luxurious room with windows welcomed me. The light magic wasn’t activated, so it was somewhat dim, but sunlight filtered through the glass, keeping it far brighter than the previous gloomy space.
"Light"
The chandelier hanging from the ceiling flared to life, flooding the entire room with warm illumination. A spacious living room greeted me immediately: sofa, tea table, and beyond them a dining table with chairs. Two doors stood on the right, two more on the left.
A small catalog rested on the dining table. I opened it and found detailed explanations of the facilities.
Dedicated housekeeper service available upon request at the lobby. Cleaning and meal preparation provided. Sexual requests strictly prohibited. Monthly fee: 10 silver.
Each room’s function, emergency magic protocols, and important precautions are listed below.
As expected of the Trainer Association in Bairen. Their meticulous attention to detail was genuinely impressive.
Time to explore. I started with the innermost room on the right, marked as the Master’s quarters.
Creak.
A large bed, two windows, a wardrobe, desk, and chair. The space felt slightly sparse yet contained everything necessary. The adjacent room held a toilet and bathtub, all impeccably hygienic.
Next I opened the door to the slave’s room. It was neat and tidy, centered around a bed. What caught my attention were the small pillars at each corner supporting a thin canopy.
“Looks more comfortable than mine.”
Made sense. A skilled trainer should maintain their slaves properly. I lay down on the bed briefly to test it. The cushioning was just right—firm enough to avoid back or pelvic strain. Excellent.
“Let’s keep looking.”
A cart filled with training implements, a barred window, a chandelier capable of light magic, and even a chamber pot for accidents. Everything was perfectly prepared.
A door in the corner drew my eye.
“That must be the punishment room.”
The one described in the manual. Slightly excited, I walked over.
Creak.
I pushed the door open to reveal total darkness.
“Light.”
The room brightened instantly. Large iron bars and torture devices whose purposes were immediately obvious filled the space. I frowned. This wasn’t for training—it was purely punitive, reserved for slaves with truly severe behavioral problems.
“I hope I never have to use these…”
Though there were always moments when even well-behaved slaves needed correction. Personally, I prayed I wouldn’t have to use them on Rene.
I left the slave quarters and entered the final room. According to the catalog, this was the kitchen.
Creak.
Clean white tiles, a magically operated stove, knives, cutting boards, various bowls, even a dog-food dish. I was thoroughly satisfied. For the price, the difference in quality was striking. Large chandeliers, oversized beds, and a punishment room completely free of mold and mildew—everything was hygienic. Magical locks on every door completed the premium package.
Right. I still needed to return the cart and collar to Veloki, then head to the inn to collect my luggage. Before leaving the new training room, I lifted Rene from the coffin and secured her to a dining chair with slime rope.
Today had been exhausting. Moving was never simple.
“Haa…”
Just thinking about hauling my belongings from the inn was enough to draw another sigh. I removed the collar from Rene’s neck, gathered it, returned the cart, and made my way to Veloki’s office.
“Mr. Arthur, how did the move go?” Veloki greeted me with a professional smile.
I showed him the collar. “Thanks to you, everything went smoothly. Here’s the collar…”
He accepted it and placed it in a drawer. “Collar received. It’s quite valuable, so I was concerned when I forgot to warn you against losing it. I’m glad everything is fine.”
Haha. That thing was expensive? Then why not design it with a little more style?
“The design is a bit… conspicuous. Do you have any other options?”
He stroked his chin thoughtfully. “Hmm. If you place a custom order, you can design it yourself.”
Was this association a literal money-devouring demon?
“Ahem. Then I’d like a simple, understated design. Is that possible?”
I would be taking Rene to clothing shops eventually. Walking around with an obvious slave collar was far too noticeable, and I had my own dignity to consider.
“Do you have any particular design in mind?”
“Not yet, but the current one draws too much attention outside.”
He smiled. “We have a professional fashion designer on staff. Would you like to speak with them tomorrow?”
They even had a dedicated designer to wring out more money! These people were ruthless.
“Tomorrow works. Also, I’d like to apply for the maid service.”
He nodded politely. “Understood. I’ll prepare a check for you.”
Swish…
I filled in the amount and signed the blank check before handing it over.
“Service will begin tomorrow. Cleaning is scheduled every Wednesday. Meals will be delivered by the maid at nine in the morning, noon, and seven in the evening. Please keep that in mind.”
“Understood. Thank you for your help.”
The hotel-like service was actually quite decent. Ten silver might seem expensive, but not having to cook or clean made it worthwhile. I bid Veloki farewell and left the association.
All that remained was retrieving my luggage.
I returned to the inn, packed my belongings, and stepped back outside. The sun was already beginning to set. It was half past five. Since it was autumn here, the days were growing shorter faster than I’d expected. I needed to hurry.
Rather than heading straight back, I stopped at the scroll shop first. I quickened my pace until the cheerful jingle of the doorbell announced my arrival.
The owner, a middle-aged man, greeted me warmly. “Hello, sir. What sort of scroll are you looking for today?”
“I’d like twelve paralysis magic scrolls, please.”
He handed me a form. “Please fill this out while I retrieve them.”
The document asked for my name, address, occupation, reason for purchase, identification number, and more. Scrolls could be used in crimes, so the paperwork allowed for later tracking.
By the time I finished, the owner returned with a stack of scrolls.
“All done?”
“Yes, here you are.”
He examined the form, then asked for my identification. “I’ll also need your association membership card.”
I handed both over.
“Arthur, from the United Kingdom…” The man compared my documents, ID, and card. “Everything checks out. Just so you know, the paralysis scroll remains effective for only about three minutes after casting. You were aware?”
I nodded. “Yes, I know. How much?”
“Thirty-five silver total. Five percent discount if paid in cash.”
I rarely carried that much coin. “Haha, I don’t have cash on me right now. Could I borrow a pen?”
He passed me one. I wrote thirty-five silver on the check and signed it.
Rip!
“Here you are.”
“Thank you. Please come again!”
He placed the scrolls in a paper bag. After exchanging farewells, I stepped outside to find the sun had already set, the streets wrapped in darkness.
“Haa… I’ll organize my things and sleep early tonight.”
It really had been an exhausting day. As I walked back toward the association, I reflected on my recent spending. Ever since striking it rich, my expenses had ballooned. Scrolls, renting a premium training room… Still, between the client’s payment and the funds my master had given me before independence, I had some breathing room.
“Think of it as an investment…”
Training slaves was an expensive profession. The truly famous trainers earned fortunes at auction. By the time the association building came into view, my thoughts drifted to Rene. She was probably worried. After all, I had left her tied to a dining chair. She would be worrying about herself, not me.
I opened the association door and stepped inside.
