This Is So Unfair!
I'm feeling so wronged.
The moment the call ended, I bolted straight to the Baekya Guild.
I had to see the situation for myself before I could even begin to explain.
Stepping into the Baekya Guild lobby, I froze at the sight before me.
"...Hyunah, let go of this. I'm gonna get rid of that monstrosity right now."
"Please calm down! For now... just wait until Arang gets here!"
Cha Eunwol, the guild leader, was glaring daggers at the wreath with her bloodthirsty red eyes, while Kim Hyunah was physically blocking her from getting close.
The quick-witted lobby staff and guild members had already cleared out long ago, leaving only the guild leader and Kim Hyunah behind.
...Gotta have that kind of street smarts to make it in a major guild, huh.
I shuffled timidly toward the two of them.
"Um... Guild Leader... Team Leader."
"Hoo... you're here?"
"Arang..."
At the sound of my voice, Cha Eunwol huffed and turned her head.
I pointed cautiously at the massive wreath towering in the middle of the lobby.
"Is that... the wreath?"
"Yeah... take a good look at it! That crazy bitch... who sends a wreath... and one that's stupidly huge like that!"
It was... way too big to even call a wreath.
Just like the guild leader said, the size was... what, more like a tree than a wreath?
I swallowed hard and approached it.
Pink ribbons draped long on either side of the wreath.
Reading the message written there, I was left utterly speechless.
Wishing eternal prosperity to the Baekya Guild
Let's get along from now on. - Cheonroe Guild Leader Cheon Yura -
"......"
She really wrote "let's get along."
Even the font was some cute one, plastered on there in massive letters.
...No wonder the guild leader's freaking out. If the person you were ready to kill yesterday sends something like this... of course you'd react like that.
I'd take it as mockery too.
"Hey. Baek Arang."
"Y-yes.."
That's when Cha Eunwol strode over and grabbed both my cheeks with her hands, yanking them hard.
"Uwengg.. it hurts..."
"Spit it out straight. You met that psycho Cheon Yura yesterday, didn't you?"
The guild leader's eyes flashed sharply.
I squirmed, my cheeks still pinched, avoiding her gaze.
"D-did I meet her... if you ask..."
"Not talking? I'll yank out your tail and bite it before you know it—tell me the truth."
"I-I did! I met her, okay?!"
She's not a perv, so why bite someone else's tail!
As I yelled desperately, she finally let go of my cheeks.
"Ow ow ow..."
I rubbed my reddened cheeks with both hands, putting on my most pitiful face.
"So, how'd you end up meeting her? What the hell did you do to make that bitch pull this insane stunt?"
The guild leader crossed her arms, grilling me.
Kim Hyunah, standing nearby, approached with a grave expression too.
"I need to hear the details as well, Arang."
"Y-yeah..."
I stroked my cheek and mumbled in response.
"Yesterday on my way home... I saw someone collapsed in the park, so I went over, and it was Cheon Yura, the guild leader, passed out on the ground."
"What...? Cheon Yura was collapsed...?"
"Yeah. She looked in so much pain... I thought she'd be in real trouble if I left her, so I helped out a bit, and she was super grateful, said she'd grant any wish..."
The longer I talked, the more their faces stiffened.
...Is this really that shocking?
"I... asked her to get along with you, Guild Leader... so I think that's why she sent this..."
I said it carefully, watching their reactions.
I could feel my tail, wrapped around my waist inside my pants, tensing up.
I'm the one who's wronged here.
Did I expect her to send a gigantic wreath the next day...?
I just meant for them to fight a little less.
Cha Eunwol and Kim Hyunah exchanged glances, then widened their eyes in disbelief.
"You... helped Cheon Yura?"
"Yeah..."
"Did you... feed her the leftover bread from before?"
"No... just used my skill a bit..."
Cha Eunwol's eyes went wide as she racked her brain trying to figure it out.
"Oh... that massage skill from back then?"
"Yeah... that one."
"Hold up... what's that supposed to mean? Hyunah, you knew about this kid's skill and didn't tell me?"
At Cha Eunwol's words, Kim Hyunah slyly looked away.
It grated on her that something she wanted to keep to herself had been found out by someone else.
Whirr.
Just then, the lobby's automatic doors slid open smoothly, and footsteps shattered the silence.
"Everyone's here, huh?"
Sharp eyes glowing with blue light.
Cheon Yura, in her impeccably tailored black suit, strode into the lobby.
"Hey! You crazy bitch!!"
Unable to hold back, Cha Eunwol lunged forward, jabbing a finger at Cheon Yura.
"What the hell is this crap in the middle of someone else's guild?!"
Even with Cha Eunwol's murderous shout, Cheon Yura just smirked and shrugged nonchalantly.
"What crap? Can't read? It says let's get along. I put some thought into it—picked the biggest, prettiest flowers."
"Who doesn't get that?! Who sends a wreath out of nowhere saying 'let's be friends'!"
"What, you think we can't start getting along over something this small? Have you eaten today?"
At Cheon Yura's brazen check-in, Cha Eunwol clutched the back of her neck and staggered.
"Haa... this unreasonable bitch... I was the fool for worrying..."
I watched the scene, squeezing my eyes shut.
'I should've just told her not to come to the Baekya Guild...'
I didn't realize she'd accelerate like this.
No matter what I said about getting along, planting a massive wreath in the guild of someone you fought yesterday... who'd take that as friendly?
Anyone would see it as a provocation.
"Guild Leader Cheon Yura."
Finally, Kim Hyunah couldn't take it anymore and stepped forward with a cough.
"Even if you meant well, given your usual relationship, sending a wreath like this leaves plenty of room for misunderstanding on our end."
At Kim Hyunah's words, Cheon Yura stroked her chin thoughtfully.
"Hm... yeah, you're right. Me and Eunwol don't exactly get along."
"Eunwol...?"
She nodded readily and turned to the dazed Cha Eunwol with a casual tone.
"I'll message first next time to avoid mix-ups. Gimme your number, Eunwol."
"Like hell I'm giving you my number! Get out, you psycho!"
Ignoring Cha Eunwol, who was yelling with veins bulging in her neck, she turned to me, standing there awkwardly.
"Hey."
Cheon Yura's pale cheeks flushed slightly, and without hesitation, she strode right up to me.
"Uh... um..."
As I panicked and tried to back away, Cheon Yura suddenly yanked me by the waist.
Whoosh.
"Mmph..?!"
My face plunged straight into Cheon Yura's soft, massive chest.
A suffocating softness I could never have.
Her faint body scent wafting subtly.
"Missed you. Kid... you didn't even tell me your name... just a few hours, but I wanted to see you so bad."
Cheon Yura whispered sweetly right by my ear.
Why is she like this?!
Anyone seeing this would think we were long-lost family!
"......?!"
"Psycho..."
Shocked voices burst from Cha Eunwol and Kim Hyunah at the same time.
"M-mmph! C-can't... breathe!"
I wriggled desperately to escape her embrace, but I couldn't overpower an S-rank hunter.
Damn it...
"Can we stay like this a bit longer?"
Ignoring my struggles, Cheon Yura wrapped one arm around my waist and expertly stroked my ear over my hoodie with the other.
Glancing up, her face looked blissfully happy, like a kid.
...Honestly, it felt good for me too... but not the time or place...
Her skilled touch on my ear nearly made a purring sound slip out.
"Hey, you crazy bitch! What the hell do you think you're doing?!"
Cha Eunwol yelled, mana surging around her as she glared at Cheon Yura.
"Molesting someone in another guild, you lunatic! Let go right now?!"
"Molesting? Careful, someone might misunderstand."
Even with the guild leader's deadly warning, Cheon Yura turned her head leisurely.
"This kid's not even in your guild. I already looked it up."
"...What?"
Cheon Yura declared boldly, still hugging me tight.
"Kid, come to our guild. I'll grant your every wish for life. Or just live with me."
'...I give up.'
I let everything go for a moment, staring blankly into space.
...Why is my life such a rollercoaster.
"Fine... you and me, one of us dies here today."
Cha Eunwol roughly shrugged off her outer jacket, grinding her teeth.
But Cheon Yura just gazed at her and smiled leisurely.
"Not planning on dying with you. Even if you hate it, I'm getting along with you from now on. Tell me if you need anything. I'll help however I can."
Is this really how someone who wants to be friends acts?
I wondered if S-ranks needed mandatory personality training.
With my face smooshed into Cheon Yura's chest, I desperately turned my head toward Kim Hyunah, pleading with my eyes.
'...Stop these two, please.'
But contrary to my hopes, Kim Hyunah had lost her usual composure, untying her suit tie with a chilling gaze.
"Haa..."
Her eyes filled with thick killing intent fixed on Cheon Yura made my tail fur stand on end.
...This is a total mess.
Why are all the people around me like this...
